A Study on the Starting Characteristic of Variable Speed Centrifugal Chiller (가변속 터보냉동기의 기동특성에 관한 연구)

  • The electric motor is essential to drive turbo machinery. In order to overcome the speed limitations of general motors, the inverter is used to perform high speed to tens of rpm. The high speed drives are widely used in many applications such as turbo blower, turbo centrifugal compressors, and pump using air bearing technique. Starting of high speed motor can cause step out, stall, oscillation of motor because the phase inductance is much smaller than that of ordinary motor. This paper studied on the starting characteristic of variable speed centrifugal chiller considering high speed motor characteristics. Finally, the superiority of the inverter is verified by experimental results.

  • This paper deals with the conceptual design and characteristic analysis of core type superconducting motor using iron cores in the field. As the objective function of conceptual design, the flux quantity per pole is selected. In order to reduce the quantity of superconductors, the variations of flux quantity per pole by changing the design variables and area are investigated. Finally, the quantity of superconductors between air-cored and core type superconducting motor is compared under the same motor capacity. In addition, the dimensions and volumes of motors are compared.

  • By adopting HIL(Hardware-in-the-Loop), component characteristics in vehicle environment can be obtained without implementing component in the vehicle. In this paper, when specific motor is adopted as traction motor in hybrid electric vehicle HIL implementation procedures are explained. In order to implement HIL method motor testing. vehicle performance simulator and load characteristic are explained. Vehicle controller used in simulator is directly uploaded in real controller. Especially as a load dynamometer actively controlled motor system is used without connecting conventional mechanical inertia. Motor characteristics are obtained using HIL implementation when test motor is used as a traction motor for parallel hybrid electric vehicle. Proposed method can be used as experimental equipment to educate driving characteristics of hybrid electric vehicle.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis method using d-q axis equivalent circuit considering iron loss in a single-phase line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. The iron loss resistance to account for the iron loss is included in the equivalent circuit to improve the modeling accuracy. Furthermore, for the improved calculation of the iron loss, the iron loss is calculated from the magnetic flux density by 2-dimensional finite element method. The result is represented as the iron loss resistance and connected in parallel with the total induced voltage. Therefore, the currents can be expressed as the summation the output current with the current corresponding to the iron loss. Finally, the steady state characteristic analysis results are compared with the experimental results to verify this approach.

  • This Paper presents characteristic analysis in terms of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor for electric vehicle propulsion using numerical analysis. Torque ripple analysis, thermal analysis, demagnetization analysis of permanent magnet and mechanical stress analysis with variable operating condition are presented. According to these characteristic analysis, both the performance of motor and possible problems during the operation are examined thoroughly in advance.

  • This paper shows the characteristic analysis for an inverter fed induction motor by the 2-D F.E.A. in variation of the air gap length. Harmonic effects of the induction rioter with different air gap length driven by the 6 step voltage of inverter ate investigated. And the results of the characteristic analysis on the inverter fed induction motor are compared with those of sinusoidal voltage fed motor.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) according to switching condition. When approved current in each phase by decided position, we made sure current and voltage according to turn-on, turn-off. In dynamic simulation of LSRM, through an experiment, we decided turn-on position of inductance profile. Also, we presented dynamic characteristic analysis model which is consisted at motor and sensor signal part, etc., and substitute circuit constant that get using magnetic equivalent circuit method, we confirmed current and voltage waveform.

  • In this paper, flux distribution and operating current is calculated according to the field coil change in HTS(High Temperature Superconducting) motor. In order to calculate magnetic field characteristic of the field coil. it is computed by changing the outer radius and the inner width of field coil Bio-Savart equation is used as the analysis method for the characteristic analysis of magnet. 2D and 3D FEA(Finite Element Analysis) is used for the magnetic field distribution in HTS motor The operating current is calculated by $B{\bot}$ linked With the field coil and $I_c-B curve of superconductor.

  • This paper deals with the effect of rotor thickness variation and winding method in high torque hybrid Permanent Magnet(PM) step motor. As these parameters vary. The flux distribution in airgap and torque characteristics are influenced, which is related to output power. efficiency and cost. These parameters and characteristic variations were evaluated by using Finite Element Method (FEM) and experiment method. From these results. Characteristic analysis for the optimum design was studied and prototype motor was made to test performance analysis.

  • Machine of textiles let off is equipment supplying constantly fabrics. Nowdays, as it is replaced band - brake type with hydraulic motor driven type, we looked into characteristic of hydraulic solenoid pilot direction valve(SPDV) for controlling acceleration performance of hydraulic motor. This study deals with controlling the initial speed of textiles let off machine. Finally, to control the initial speed of hydraulic motor, we controlled the adjustment screw of SPDV by a hand. Test which was carried out in the laboratory shows that initial speed of textiles let off could be improved by controlling adjustment screw of SPDV. Also, the results of experiment work were compared with dynamic characteristic of other on/off solenoid direction valve(SDV).
