There is a Growing Interest in Motion Recognition for Recognizing Human Motion in Camera Images. As a Result, Researches are Being Actively Conducted to Control Digital Devices with Gestures at a Long Distance. The Interface Using Gesture can be Effectively Used in the Digital Signage Industry Where the Advertisement Effect is Expected to be Exposed to the Public in Various Places. Since the Digital Signage Contents can be Easily Controlled through the Non-contact Hand Operation, it is Possible to Provide the Advertisement Information of Interest to a Large Number of People, Thereby Providing an Opportunity to Lead to Sales. Therefore, we Propose a Digital Signage Content Control System Based on Hand Movement at a Certain Distance, which can be Effectively Used for the Development of Interactive Advertizing Media.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze setter toss motion kinematically according to toss types. Method : Dependent variables were elapsed time, vertical displacement of the body center, the projected speed of the ball, and differences of the joint angle to the target for four setters positioning. Result : There was no significant difference in the time but the ball contact time was shorter when the toss distance of P3 was longer. There was significant difference in the vertical displacement of COM (p<.05). The vertical displacement of COM showed that the vertical movement gradually decreased when the quick distance was longer. The vertical displacement of COM was difference (p<.05), also there was difference of the ball speed (p<.001) at the Release point(E4). There was significant difference in the knee joint angle at a certain moment among the Release(E4) and Landing point(E5)(p<.05). The hip joint was significant difference among the Apex(E2), Ball Touch(E3), Release(E4), and the Landing point(E5) on the surface(E2, E3, E4 p<.05; E5 p<.005). The shoulder angle was significant difference among the Ball Touch(E3), Release(E4) and the Landing point(E5) on the surface(E3, E4 p<.05; E5 p<.001). The elbow was significant difference in the Apex(E2) (p<.05). The wrist was significant difference in the Release(E4) (p<.05). Conclusion : If we find the clue to expect the direction of the setter's ball, we have to fine the clues in the Apex(E2) that hip join and elbow, Ball Touch(E3) that hip joint and shoulder joint, Release(E4) that wrist, elbow, hip joint, and knee joint.
Objective : This study assessed the safety and efficacy of one level unilateral laminotomy bilateral decompression (ULBD) with the placement of a device for intervertebral assisted motion (DIAM) compared with one level ULBD only in elderly patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS). Methods : A non randomized prospective analysis was performed on 16 patients who underwent one level ULBD with DIAM (Group A) and 20 patients with one level ULBD only (Group B) between February 2007 and March 2008. Radiographic imaging, visual analog scale (VAS) and MacNab outcome scale were obtained before and after surgery at a mean interval of 21 months (range 17-27 months). Results : The disc height, interpedicular distance, slip distance and segmental lordotic angle were similar between two groups. In the group A, there was no significant difference between the pre- and post-operative imaging in terms of the sagittal balance and disc height. Both groups showed significant improvement in the clinical outcomes. In addition, there was significantly less low-back pain in the group A than in the group B at the last follow up, while the clinical improvement of the leg pain and MacNab outcome scale showed no significant difference in the two groups. There were no major complications or DIAM associated complications. Conclusion : ULBD with DIAM is a safe and efficacious treatment for selective elderly patients with DLSS, particularly for relieving low back pain comparing to ULBD. ULBD with DIAM did not alter the disc height or sagittal alignment at the mean 21 months follow-up interval.
When creating large crowds, it is unavoidable that the models and motions of many characters will be cloned. McDonnell implemented experiments focus on appearance and motion of characters to test user perception of crowds. As a result, appearance clones were easier to perceive than motion clones. In this paper, I researched about relation between character cloning and user perception for real-time game environment expanding McDonnell's research. This paper focuses on the way to recognition of multiple clones in dramatic environment free to change view point and has crowds move to every directions by trajectories. In particular, this paper shows the possibility of character diversification applied various shapes, colors and patterns to game item have important elements for game characters. Also, I suggests range of distances between clones by a series of experiments of user perception for clones's moving direction and distance.

A new localization algorithm is proposed for a fast moving mobile robot, which utilizes only one beacon and the global features of the differential-driving mobile robot. It takes a relatively long time to localize a mobile robot with active beacon sensors since the distance to the beacon is measured by the traveling time of the ultrasonic signal. When the mobile robot is moving slowly the measurement time does not yield a high error. At a higher mobile robot speed, however, the localization error becomes too large to locate the mobile robot. Therefore, in high-speed mobile robot operations, instead of using two or more active beacons for localization, only one active beacon and the global features of the mobile robot are used to localize the mobile robot in this research. The two global features are the radius and center of the rotational motion for the differential-driving mobile robot which generally describe motion of the mobile robot and are used for the trace prediction of the mobile robot. In high speed operations the localizer finds an intersection point of this predicted trace and a circle which is centered at the beacon and has the radius of the distance between the mobile robot and the beacon. This new approach resolves the large localization error caused by the high speed of the mobile robot. The performance of the new localization algorithm has been verified through the experiments with a high-speed mobile robot.

PURPOSE: This study investigated the influence of a specific hip joint exercise program on the characteristics of chronic low back pain (LBP), hip joint range of motion (ROM), and performance level in amateur golfers with LBP. METHODS: The study included 28 adult male amateur golfers with LBP and reduced internal rotation (IR) of the lead side hip joint. Subjects were randomly assigned to an experimental (EG) (n=14) or control group (CG) (n=14). The Numerical Rating Scale score for pain, ROM of the hip joint and trunk rotation, performance parameters for golfing were evaluated. A specific exercise program designed to improve IR of the lead side hip joint was performed by the EG, but not the CG. Post-intervention evaluation was performed and the collected data were analyzed. RESULTS: After the intervention, the severity of LBP was significantly reduced (p<.05) and the IR ROM of the lead side hip joint was significantly increased (p<.01) in the EG. Moreover, the trunk rotation range was significantly increased in the EG (p<.01). The drive distance was significantly difference between the EG and CG (p<.05). CONCLUSION: A specific hip joint exercise program can help to reduce pain level and improve performance level in amateur golfers with LBP and increased IR ROM of the lead side hip joint. A significant increase in ROM of the lead side hip joint reduce LBP and was related to driving distance in the EG.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to determine the electrical properties of the buccal area using facial surface electromyography (sEMG). Methods : This research was conducted on 44 healthy participants irrespective of their sex. Surface electrodes were attached to the midpoints of three imaginary lines connecting ST4 (Dicang) to ST6 (Jiache), ST4 to SI18 (Quanliao), and ST4 to the center point of SI18 and ST6. Then, the participants were trained in the movement that included a comprehensive action of buccal area. While the participants were performing the motion, sEMG values ($E_1$, $E_2$, $E_3$) and the distance change of the three imaginary lines ($D_1$, $D_2$, $D_3$) were measured. The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS ver. 22.0. Results : Significant differences were observed in the distance changes ($D_1$>$D_3$, $D_2$>$D_3$) and sEMG values ($E_1$<$E_2$<$E_3$). Moreover, there were positive correlations between $D_1$ and $E_1$, $D_2$ and $E_2$. Conclusion : We suggest that the measurement at ST4 to the center point of ST6 and SI18 with this motion would be adequate to check the electrical characteristics of the buccal area.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate kinematic comparisons of Tsukahara vault in gymnastics between a top-level athlete and sublevel collegiate athletes in order to obtain information on key biomechanical points for successful Tsukahara vaults. Methods: An Olympic gold medalist (height, 160 cm; weight, 52 kg; age, 25 years) and five sublevel collegiate gymnasts (height, $168.2{\pm}3.4cm$; weight, $59.6{\pm}3.1kg$; age, $23.2{\pm}1.6years$) participated in this study. They repeatedly performed Tsukahara vaults including one somersault. Fourteen motion-capturing cameras were used to collect the trajectories of 26 body markers during Tsukahara vaults. Event time, displacement and velocity of the center of mass, joint angles, the distance between the two hands on the horse, and averaged horizontal and vertical impact forces were calculated and compared. Results: The top-level athlete showed a larger range of motion (ROM) of the hip and knee joints compared to sublevel collegiate athletes during board contact. During horse contact, the top-level athlete had a narrow distance between the two hands with extended elbows and shoulders in order to produce a strong blocking force from the horse with a shorter contact time. At the moment of horse take-off, reactive hip extension of the top-level athlete enhanced propulsive take-off velocity and hip posture during post-flight phase. Conclusion: Even though a high velocity of the center of mass is important, the posture and interactive action during horse contact is crucial to post-flight performance and the advanced performance of Tsukahara vaults.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of craniocervical posture on craniomandibular disorders with chronic headache. The author measured craniocervical posture on frontal and sagittal plane with photographs for 26 headache patients, 23 TMD patients, and 27 nonpatients. Range of cervical spine motion was also measured. The bilateral electromyograms of masseter and anterior temporalis muscles were recorded at rest and during maximum clenching. The results were as follows : On the lateral view photos, eye-tragus-C7 line angle was larger and the tragus-C7-horizontal line angle was smaller in the patient groups than in the nonpatient group (p<0.05). On the frontal view photos, mouth corner line angle was larger in the headache patient group than in the nonpatient group and TMD patient group (p<0.05) Interclavicular angle was smaller in the headache patient group and TMD patient grop than in the nonpatient (p<0.01) The right and left differences of SAIC-plane distance and finger tip-plane distance were significantly larger in headache patient group than TMD patient group and nonpatient group (p<0.01, p<0.001). Cervical motion range was smaller in the TMD patient group and headache patient group than in the nonpatient group (p<-.001, p<0.05, p<0.05). The resting EMG activities of right masseter muscle were higher in the headache patient group than in the nonpatient group (p<0.05). However, the EMG activities of masseter and anterior temporalis muscles during maximal clenching were lower in the patient group than in the nonpatient grop (p<0.01). The asymmetry index of resting EMG of masseter muscles was higher in the headache patient group than nonpatient group (p<0.05).

This paper describes design of a 10.525 GHz self oscillating mixer semiconductor IC chip combining voltage controlled oscillator and frequency mixer using silicon CMOS technology for Doppler radar applications. The p-core type VCO included in the self oscillating mixer minimizes the noise contained in the transmitted signal. This noise minimization increases the sensing distance and acts in a direction favorable to the reaching distance and the sensitivity of the motion detection sensor. Simulation results for phase noise show that a VCO designed as a P-core has a noise characteristic of -106.008 dBc / Hz at 1 MHz offset and -140.735 dBc / Hz at 25 MHz offset compared to a VCO designed with N-core and NP-core showed excellent noise characteristics. If a self-oscillating mixer is implemented using a p-core designed VCO in this study, a motion sensor with excellent range and reach sensitivity will be produced.
