From February to September in 1996, a lot of blind cattle were reported in Dangjin Area of Chungnam Province. Blindness were observed in the 143 calves of the 1,496 calves from 79 farms. Blind cattle were found only in the farms where green pasture was not fed. After administration of vitamin A as the type of feed additives and parenteral injection, the blindness cases were not occurred in those farms. Both pupils were totally dilated with the absence of pupillary light reflex in all blind cattle. In the ophthalmoscopic examination, the fundus revealed multi focal linear white mottling which was more severe in nontapetal fundus than tapetal fundus. Serum vitamin A concentration was as low as 4.1 ,$\mu\textrm{g}$/dl in the calves of the affected farms. Narrowing of optic foramen, retinal degeneration and optic disc atrophy were shown in pathological findings.

Road accidents not only caused loss of human lives but also costed 3% of gross domestic product in most of the countries. The road accidents pose significant challenges to public safety and urban transportation management. There is a need to identify the high-risk area of accidents along with the critical day of week and vulnerable time period in order to implement effective preventive measures and optimizing the resource allocation. We collected 5,012 accident data from 대구교통종합정보. This study identified the high-risk locations, days of week, and time periods for accidents in Daegu and estimated the conditional probabilities of accidents occurring based on combinations of location, day of the week, and time period. The result is visualized in the form of dashboard in Tableau. This study holds substantial practical significance for urban planners, transportation authorities, and policymakers in Daegu to strategically allocate resources for traffic management, law enforcement, and targeted safety campaigns.

The percent of diseased fruit by Diaporthe citri was the most 16.8% in 2010 and the least 3.8% in 2005, and the average was 8.8% from 2003 to 2012. The degrees of disease incidence were relatively high, 17.0, 22.6, 19.2 and 18.9%, in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2010, respectively. The percent of diseased fruit by Elsinoe fawcettii was the most 0.72% in 2004, and then gradually decreased to 0.08% in 2008, and the average was from 0.28% from 2004 to 2011. In case of canker by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri, the percent of diseased fruit was the most 2.19% in 2004, and gradually decreased to 0.08 and 0.10% in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The average was 0.81% from 2004 to 2012. The melanose by D. citri was most in south-east area of Jeju Island, and east and west in case of canker. The melanose symptoms were initially appeared from mid June, mainly peaked late of July to late August. The canker symptoms were initially produced on leaves of natsudaidai and grapefruit cultivated in open field middle of June in 2010 and 2011 and late of May in 2012. The scab disease was firstly appeared approx. early or mid May and then rapidly increased late of May to middle of June. The inoculum was mainly produced from dead twigs late June to early of August.

This study was investigated on anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity on Gu-Mi-Gang-Hwal-Tang which has been used for the treatment of common cold and headache, arthralgia, fever in oriental medicine. The anti-inflammatory activities of Gu-Mi-Gang-Hwal-Tang water extract (GMGHT) on the carrageenin induced edema, acetic acid induced edema, and corton oil induced granuloma pouch in rats were examined. The analgesic effect of the GMGHT was investigated utilizing acetic acid induced writhing syndrome in mice. The antipyretic activity of the GMGHT was also investigated. The oral administration of GMGHT has been shown the anti-inflammatory activities in 1% carrageenin and acetic acid induced edema in rats. The GMGHT has been shown significant inhibitory effects on glanuloma and exudate formation in rats, especially the GMGHT (450 mg/kg) has the efficacy more than the GMGHT (150 mg/kg). The writhing syndromes induced by acetic acid in mice were inhibited, especially analgesic activity of the GMGHT (450 mg/kg) is similar to that of piroxicam and antipyretic activities were recognized in rats. In the present study, the GMGHT is indicated to have the anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities.

Since national image video advertisements are a means of public relations with wide delivery and major repercussions at home and abroad, this study performs a comparative analysis of video advertisements aired by previous governments as reported by Daejung Kim, Moohyun Roh, Myungbak Lee, and Geunhye Park. The characteristics of the previous governments, whether or not social trends were reflected, and the importance of traditional and modern elements were examined. As we describe, there are clear differences in video advertisements by government regime, and while messages expressing traditional values of Eastern culture have gradually decreased, reflecting the trends of the times, the messages emphasizing the modern values of the West have gradually increased. Our research confirmed that traditional elements such as 'Samulnori' and 'Taekwondo' are gradually disappearing. In addition, it was confirmed that the collective values, traditional values, and humanism represented by the 'large crowd' and 'traditional elements' in the Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun administration changed in the Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye administrations to more individualistic, materialistic, Western values. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed the components and characteristics of national image advertisements by governments in the past, how social trends were reflected, and the weight difference between traditional and modern elements. Based on this research, the significance of the current Moon Jae-in government's groundwork for follow-up research should not be understated.

Laurus nobilis (L. nobilis) is traditionally used as an herbal medicine to treat various diseases. Ethanol (EtOH) consumption entails physiological, mental and psychomotor alterations. The aim of the present study was to assess the effects of L. nobilis in attenuating the EtOH-induced psychomotor alterations. L. nobilis was administered to SD rats, 30 minutes before EtOH administration (4 g/kg), at doses of 25, 50 and 100 mg/kg. Evaluations of psychomotor activity in the open-field, accelerating rota-rod, wire, and swimming ability were done at 1, 2, 4 and 8 hours after EtOH administration. In addition, blood ethanol and acetaldehyde levels were also measured. Pre-treatment of L. nobilis significantly improved EtOH-induced psychomotor alterations and decreased blood ethanol and acetaldehyde levels. These findings suggest that L. nobilis might be an effective substance to attenuate the harmful effects of EtOH, particularly psychomotor alterations, and can potentially be considered as a functional food.

The study is to investigate the impact of the knowledge sharing and utilization among the participants in international joint ventures on the characteristics and the joint venment performance of the participants. The specific areas of the investigation for significant impacts of knowledge sharing & utilization by international joint ventures are contract compliance, motivation & willingness for business participation, management autonomy, organizational culture and the joint performances, and the characteristics that are unique to the participants in international joint ventures are empirically investigated as well. The findings of the empirical analysis are as follows: knowledge sharing & utilization has positive impacts on the areas of contract compliance, management autonomy, motivation & willingness for business participation and organizational culture, and, in return, the areas of contract compliance, managerial autonomy, and motivation & willingness for business participation appeared to have positive effects on their joint venture performances.

It were investigated changes in internal and external temperature, relative humidity using tyvek, weedstop, and 35% shading net as covering material to reduce the freezing damage of 'Shiranui' hybrid mandarin grown in open field. It were also evaluated canopy covering effect and LT₅₀ of leaves by covering material when it was cold at -2℃. In tyvek, temperature difference between inside and outside was low at the height of 1.5m and was high at 0.4m. The relative humidity differed greatly between day and night, and was high at 6-8 a.m. At -2℃, Sum of temperature at the height of 1.5m of canopy for 24-hour after covering were at 3.4℃ higher in tyvek than in control. The LT₅₀ of leaves was at 1.51℃ in tyvek, 1.33℃ in withstop, and 1.61℃ in 35% shading net lower than in control. Considering thermal insulation and relative humidity in canopy, tyvek is expected to reduce low temperature damage when covering after making a fine hole for ventilation.

Background: To evaluate the effect of prophylactic transdermal scopolamine in reducing nausea associated with postoperative epidural morphine. Methods: 30 healthy patients scheduled for cesarean section were given local anesthetics epidurally for surgical anesthesia. After delivery of the baby, transdermal scopolamine patch($Kimite^{(R)}$ Myung Moon Pharm. Co., Seoul, Korea) was applied to the study group(n=15) and placebo patch to the control group(n=15). Postoperative analgesia was provided soley with epidural morphine. Nausea was treated with metoclopramide. Results: During 24 hours postoperatively, the mean nausea score was significantly lower in the study group than in the control group. But the nausea incidence was not significantly different between the two groups. The mean number of times antiemetic drugs which were administered to patients were lower in the study group than in the control group($1.5{\pm}0.5$ vs $3.3{\pm}1.3$, p<0.05). Conclusion: Transdermal scopolamine patch provides antiemetic effect simply, continuously and safely, preventing nausea which could occur during administration of epidural morphine after cesarean section.

Recently, the collaboration among small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) has been recognized as an effective competitive tool. As several systems have been developed to boost the collaboration, it is necessary to analyze the effectiveness of the systems in terms of their contribution to enhance operational performance of SMEs through objective and quantitative validation. In particular, the analysis for SMEs rather than large-scaled enterprises has not received much attention due to lack of relevant information and difficulty of collecting data. This paper presents a framework for analyzing the effectiveness of the collaboration support system, called i-manufacturing hub, which has been implemented by Korean government. Identification of influential factors to the effectiveness of collaboration hub, and constructing necessary hypotheses are proposed. To overcome the difficulty in data collection only by means of surveys through subjective questionnaires, we exploit system log data that are generated while SMEs use the system. As an initial phase to analyze the effectiveness through hypothesis validation, we discuss several interesting observations and challenges in the direction of enhancing collaboration among SMEs for better operational performance improvement and more participation in the collaboration hub.
