대기중 미량금속의 발암 위해도에 대한 몬테 카를로 분석 (Monte Calro Analysis of Cancer Risk from Airborne Trace Metals)

  • In order to reflect variability due to exposure factors as well as to assess uncertainty associated with cancer risk posed by airborne trace metals, a Monte Calro analysis has been made in this study. Input parameters for Monte Carlo analysis were developed or adjusted using body weight, lifetime, and exposure frequency of Koreans. Ambient distributions of toxic metals were founded to be lognormal distributions for most of them using goodness-of-fit tests. Thus, the 95% UCL and 95% LCL of carcinogenic metals were estimated by H-statistic method for lognormal distribution, respectively. The results of Monte Carlo analysis of 95% UCL showed that the 95th percentile risks for men and women were 1.2 and 1.1 times higher than an acceptable risk of 10$^{-5}$ , respectively. The probabilities which those risks exceed the acceptable risk were estimated to be 8% and 6%, respectively, while to be 95% and 94%, respectively on the basis of the minimum acceptable risk of 10$^{-6}$ , respectively. Approximately 90% of total cancer risk came from human carcinogens such as arsenic and hexavalent chromium. Therefore, it is necessary to properly manage both arsenic and hexavalent chromium emissions in the study area.

  • The direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) method is applied to investigate steady and unsteady flow fields of a single-stage disk-type drag pump. Two different kinds of pumps are considered: the first one is a rotor-rotor combination, and the second one is a rotor-stator combination. The pumping channels are cut on a rotor and stator. The rotor and stator have 10 Archimedes' spiral blades, respectively. In the present DSMC method, the variable hard sphere model is used as a molecular model, and the no time counter method is employed as a collision sampling technique. For simulation of diatomic gas flows, the Borgnakke-Larsen phenomenological model is adopted to redistribute the translational and internal energies. The DSMC results are in good agreement with the experimental data.

  • A zero-dimensional direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) model is developed for simulating diatomic gas including vibrational kinetics. The method is applied to the simulation of two systems: vibrational relaxation of a simple harmonic oscillator and translational-rotational-vibrational energy exchange process under heating and cooling. In the present DSMC method, the variable hard sphere molecular model and no time counter technique are used to simulate the molecular collision kinetics. For simulation of diatomic gas flows, the Borgnakke-Larsen phenomenological model is adopted to redistribute the translational and internal energies.

  • 독립된 세 개 이상의 처리 간에 차이 유무를 검정하는 비모수적 방법에는 Kruskal과 Wallis (1952)가 제안한 검정법이 있다. 세 개 이상의 다른 모집단으로부터 결합된 표본관측 값들의 순위를 이용한 검정기법이다. 본 논문에서는 Chung과 Kim (2007)이 제안한 결합위치 방법을 확장하여 일원배치모형에서 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 모의실험(Monte Calro simulation study)를 통하여 기존의 검정법과 제안한 방법의 검정력을 비교하였다.

  • The performance of micro-actuators utilizing radiometric forces are studied numerically. The Knudsen number based on gas density and characteristic dimension is varied from near-continuum to highly rarefied conditions. Direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) calculations have been performed to estimate the performance of the micro-actuators. In the present DSMC method, the variable hard sphere molecular model and no time counter technique are used to simulate the molecular collision kinetics. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통한 시스템 파라미터 추정의 효율성 (Simulation Efficiency for Estimation of System Parameters in Computer Simulation)

  • We focus on a way of combining the Monte Calro methods of antithetic variates and control variates to reduce the variance of the estimator of the mean response in a simulation experiment. Combined Method applies antithetic variates (partially) for driving approiate stochastic model components to reduce the vaiance of estimator and utilizes the correlations between the response and control variates. We obtain the variance of the estimator for the response analytically and compare Combined Method with control variates method. We explore the efficiency of this method in reducing the variance of the estimator through the port operations model. Combined Method shows a better performance in reducing the variance of estimator than methods of antithetic variates and control variates in the range from 6% to 8%. The marginal efficiency gain of this method is modest for the example considered. When the effective set of control variates is small, the marginal efficiency gain may increase. Though these results are from the limited experiments, Combined Method could profitably be applied to large-scale simulation models.

플라즈마 식각장치내 노즐의 위치에 따른 희박기체유동 및 알루미늄 식각률의 변화에 관한 연구 (Effects of Nozzle Locations on the Rarefied Gas Flows and Al Etch Rate in a Plasma Etcher)

  • The direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) method is employed to calculate the etch rate on Al wafer. The etchant is assumed to be Cl$_2$. The etching process of an Al wafer in a helicon plasma etcher is examined by simulating molecular collisions of reactant and product. The flow field inside a plasma etch reactor is also simulated by the DSMC method fur a chlorine feed gas flow. The surface reaction on the Al wafer is simply modelled by one-step reaction: 3C1$_2$+2Allongrightarrow1 2AIC1$_3$. The gas flow inside the reactor is compared for six different nozzle locations. It is found that the flow field inside the reactor is affected by the nozzle locations. The Cl$_2$ number density on the wafer decreases as the nozzle location moves toward the side of the reactor. Also, the present numerical results show that the nozzle location 1, which is at the top of the reactor chamber, produces a higher etch rate.

표적기동분석을 위한 Levenberg-Marquardt 적용에 관한 연구 (Study on Levenberg-Marquardt for Target Motion Analysis)

  • Levenberg-Marquardt은 최소자승법 문제의 풀이법으로 잘 알려져 있다. 하지만 이전의 표적기동분석(TMA)의 추적필터의 경우 대부분 Gauss-Newton방법을 사용하고 있으며 Gauss-Newton은 역행열 연산이 요구되어 시스템을 불안정하게 만드는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Gauss-Newton의 수치적 불안정성을 해결하기 위해 TMA에 Levenberg-Marquardt을 적용하여 Levenberg-Marquardt이 적용된 표적기동분석 알고리즘의 안정성을 실험으로 보인다. 이를 위해 실험에서는 Monte-Calro 시물레이션을 3개 시나리오에 대하여 수행하였으며 그 결과 Levenberg-Marquardt이 Gauss-Newton에 비하여 표적기동분석 결과인 거리, 침로, 속력의 수렴되는 시간이 빨라졌으며 행렬의 발산빈도가 저하되어 표적기동분석 결과가 안정화되었다.
