  • Anticoagulant drugs, like vitamin K antagonists and heparin, have been the mainstay for the treatment and prevention of venous thromboembolic disease for many years. Although effective if appropriately used, traditional anticoagulants have several limitations such as unpredictable pharmacologic and pharmacokinetic responses and various adverse effects including serious bleeding complications. New oral anticoagulants have recently emerged as an alternative because of their rapid onset/offset of action, predictable linear dose-response relationships and fewer drug interactions. However, they are still associated with problems such as bleeding, lack of reversal agents and standard laboratory monitoring. In an attempt to overcome these drawbacks, key steps of the hemostatic pathway are investigated as targets for anticoagulation. Here we reviewed the traditional and new anticoagulants with respect to their targets in the coagulation cascade, along with their therapeutic advantages and disadvantages. In addition, investigational anticoagulant drugs currently in the development stages were introduced.

  • Receptor for advanced glycation endproducts (RAGE) is a multi-ligand receptor that is able to bind several different ligands, including advanced glycation endproducts, high-mobility group protein (B)1 (HMGB1), S-100 calcium-binding protein, amyloid-${\beta}$-protein, Mac-1, and phosphatidylserine. Its interaction is engaged in critical cellular processes, such as inflammation, proliferation, apoptosis, autophagy, and migration, and dysregulation of RAGE and its ligands leads to the development of numerous human diseases. In this review, we summarize the signaling pathways regulated by RAGE and its ligands identified up to date and demonstrate the effects of hyper-activation of RAGE signals on human diseases, focused mainly on renal disorders. Finally, we propose that RAGE and its ligands are the potential targets for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of numerous renal diseases.

  • Flood is the main natural disaster mostly in the world. It is a care problem to prevent flood disaster generally. The frequency of flood disaster is high and the distributing field is wide, the 50 percent population and 70 percent properties distribute at the threaten field of flood disaster in China. Flood disaster has caused a huge amount of economical losses and these losses have an increasing trend. Along with the development of reducing natural disaster action, it has become one of the most attentive problems for monitoring flood, preventing flood and forecasting flood efficiently. Remote sensing has the characteristics of large spatial observing areas, wide spectrum ranges, and imaging far away from the targets, imaging capabilities all weather. Spatial remote sensing information, which records the full, processes of the disaster's occurrence and development in real-time. It is a scientific basis for management, planning and decision-making. Through systemic analyzing the RS monitoring theory, based on compounding RS information, the technology and method of monitoring flood disaster are studied.

  • Intensive Monitoring Survey of Nearby Galaxies (IMSNG) is a program monitoring nearby galaxies with a high cadence within a day. The main goal of the project is to constrain the SNe explosion mechanism and properties of their progenitors by catching the early lights from the shock-heated cooling emission. The observation campaign began in 2014 with two 1-m class telescopes in the northern hemisphere. Now more than ten telescopes are monitoring galaxies with 60 IMSNG targets, which have a high probability of supernova explosion every night all around the world. Since the project started, the following observations have been carried out on 14 SNe Ia(including -pec), 27 core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe), and around 40 transients in other types. In this poster, we present the current status of IMSNG SNe data first and then focus more on the CCSNe. CCSNe are the explosion of massive stars, more massive than eight times of the Sun. They have been studied for more than a half decades but still have key questions to be solved, such as distinct types, the characteristics driving their diversity, and so on. Here, we show our ongoing studies of CCSNe in IMSNG, focusing on their usefulness as distance indicators and properties of early light curves.

  • This study applies an on-line system, which employes an adaptive reconstruction technique to monitor and forecast ocean surface changes. The system adaptively generates an appropriate synthetic time series with recovering missing measurements for sequential images. The reconstruction method incorporates temporal variation according to physical properties of targets and anisotropic spatial optical properties into image processing techniques. This adaptive approach allows successive refinement of the structure of objects that are barely detectable in the observed series. The system sequentially collects the estimated results from the adaptive reconstruction and then statistically analyzes them to monitor and forecast the change in surface characteristics.

  • Recently development of cell-based assay systems which are useful in molecular cell biology and drug discovery attracts significant attention. Here, we introduce a new technologies for monitoring enzyme activity and its inhibition inside living cells. Among various enzymes, proteases are important targets for studying various biological and disease-related processes such as viral infections, apoptosis and Alzheimer's disease. In this study, a sensitive cell-based protease detection system that enables direct fluorescence detection of a target protease and its inhibition inside living cells is introduced. (omitted)

  • Traditional methods for monitoring targets rely heavily on probabilistic data association (PDA) or Kalman filtering. However, achieving optimal performance in a densely congested tracking environment proves challenging due to factors such as the complexities of measurement, mathematical simplification, and combined target detection for the tracking association problem. This article analyzes a target tracking problem through the lens of fuzzy logic theory, identifies the fuzzy rules that a fuzzy tracker employs, and designs the tracker utilizing fuzzy rules and Kalman filtering.

  • Since hot peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) are getting reputation as an important source of vitamins, medicine and many other areas, consumption and cultivation is being increased in the world. In spite of this usefulness, so little attention has been given to the hot pepper plants. To date, less than 500 nucleotide sequences including redundancy has been identified in NCBI database. Therefore we started to EST sequencing project for initial characterization of the genome, because of the large genome size of hot pepper (2.7 3.3 ${\times}$ 109 bp), To date, a set of 10,000 non-redundant genes were identified by EST sequencing for microarray-based gene expression studies. At present, cDNA microarrays containing 4,685 unigene clones are used for hybridization labeled targets derived from pathogen infected and uninoculated leaf tissues. Monitoring of gene expression profiles of hot pepper interactions with soybean pustule pathogen (Xag;Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. glycine) will be presented.

  • A portable bio-signal measurement system for 24-hours continuous health monitoring of the elderly and the disabled is presented. The measurement system has the functions of acquisition of various bio-signals such as ECG, EMG and EEG, wireless data transmission/receive and adjustment of parameters such as gain and cut-off frequency. The data is sent to a host computer or other device via a Bluetooth. The design targets of the developing system for volume and power consumption are $20{\times}30{\times}5(mm^3)$ and 8mW.
