Remote Control and Monitoring System Using PDA (PDA를 이용한 원격 제어 및 모니터링 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose the system that can monitor and control the camera in the remote place using the PDA. The server PC attached to the PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) acquires the current status(On/Off) of the devices through the RS-232 serial communications. Also, the moving image frames captured from the wireless camera is compressed in the JPEG format and is stored in the server. The PDA, which is connected to the server through wireless internet, receives the data about the status of the devices and controls the devices according to the circumstances of them. Also, it can receive the images from the server simultaneously. So, we can monitor and control the specified area in the remote place using the PDA through the wireless communication.

  • The RMS(Remote Monitoring System) is generalized to adopt in many automatic system by progress of industrial and technical growth. RMS has been developed from simple status monitoring system to realtime control system with multimedia interface. This study is to design and develop monitoring system that client is able to monitor and control target system on web browser. The RMS is consist of 4 functional modes, which is monitoring mode, control mode, setup mode and video mode. Monitoring mode is to observe remote target system with realtime on web browser. Control mode is to change target system status in monitoring mode. Setup mode is to change system variable in control mode. Video mode is to monitor target system environment visually by web camera. This RMS is easy to access and manage target system, and so useful to monitor remote automatic system and closing site.

  • In teleoperating, as seeing the monitor screen obtained from a camera instituted in the working environment, human operator generally controls the slave arm. Because we can see only 2-D image in a monitor, human operator does not know the depth information and can not work with high accuracy. In this paper, we proposed a traded control method using an visual sensor for the purpose of solving this problem. We can control a teleoperation system with precision when we use the proposed algorithm. Not only a human operator command but also an autonomous visual sensor feedback command is given to a slave arm for the purpose of coincidence current image features and target image features. When the slave arm place in a distant place from the target position, human operator can know very well the difference between the desired image features and the current image features, but calculated visual sensor command have big errors. And when the slave arm is near the target position, the state of affairs is changed conversely. With this visual sensor feedback, human does not need coincide the detail difference between the desired image features and the current image features and proposed method can work with higher accuracy than other method without, sensor feedback. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through series of experiments.

  • Due to the advanced IT environment, the role of Security Monitoring & Control becomes more important as the cyber-crime is becoming intelligent, diversified, and advanced. In contrast to the way it relied solely on security devices such as Firewall and IDS in the past, Security Monitoring & Control tasks responding to cyber attacks through real-time monitoring have become wide spread and their role is also important. In response to current cyber threats, since security equipment alone can not be guaranteed a stable defense, the task of Security Monitoring & Control became essential to operate and monitor security equipment and to respond in real time. In this study, we will discuss how to configure network security system effectively and how to improve the real-time Security Monitor & Control.

  • Flight control systems installed on unmanned aircraft require thorough verification from the design stage. This verification is made through the integrated flight control test environment. Typically, a debugger is used to monitor the internal state of a flight control computer in real time. Emulator with a real-time memory monitor and trace is relatively expensive. The JTAG Emulator is unable to operate in real time and has limitations that cannot be caught up with the processing speed of latest high-speed processors. In this paper, we describe the results of the development of internal monitoring software for drone flight control computer processors based on NUTTX/PIXHAWK. The results of this study show that the functions provided compared to commercial debugger are limited, but it can be sufficiently used to verify the flight control system using this system under limited budget.

  • Grinding process takes a long time that grinding machine is setted properly. It is difficult for user to judge correctly the abnormal states generated in grinding process. Air grinding has to be reduced for the improvement of productivity. In addition, it is important to monitor the dressing and the grinding process so that the grinding working maintains optimal grinding conditions. In this study, the monitoring system using the acoustic emission is developed to monitor these processes continuously. This system was able to reduce the preparation as well as the machine setting time in grinding operation.

  • A new methodology is presented to diagnose faults in equipment plasma. This is accomplished by using neural networks as a pattern recognizer of radio frequency(rf) impedance match data. Using a realtime match monitor system, the match data were collected. The monitor system consisted mainly of a multifunction board and a signal flow diagram coded by Visual Designer. Plasma anomaly was effectively represented by electrical match positions. Twenty sets of fault-symptom patterns were experimentally simulated with experimental variations in process factors, which include rf source power, pressure, Ar and O$_2$ flow rates.   • Since power failures in high-speed communication network, especially in HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial cable) network are critical, microcontroller-based UPS(Uninterrupted Power Supply) are commonly used in the network. Hardware and software of UPS management system is designed and implemented to monitor and control UPS status to supply electric power to ONU and TBA in the HFC network. The result of laboratory tests and field tess of this system shows the scan rate to be 1 to 10 minutes to sufficiently monitor the status of UPS in the network.
