  • The purpose of this paper is to describe an application of plasma polymerized thin film as an electron beam resist. Plasma polymerized thin film was prepared using an interelectrod inductively coupled gas-flow-type reactor. Styrene was chosen as the monomer to be used. This thin films were also delineated by the electron-beam apparatus and the pattern in the resist was developed with RIE and plasma polymerized apparatus. The effect of charge of pressure on growth rate and etching rate of the thin films were studied. The molecular structure of thin film was investigated by FT-IR and then was discussed in relation to its quality as a resist.

Poly(1,4-bis((E)-2-(3-dodecylthiophen-2-yl)vinyl)benzene) for Solution Processable Organic Thin Film Transistor

  • New semiconducting polymer, poly[1,4-bis(($E$)-2-(5-bromo-3-dodecylthiophen-2-yl)vinyl)benzene], was designed, synthesized and characterized. The structure of polymer was confirmed by $^1H$-NMR, IR and elemental analysis. The polymer was soluble in specific organic solvent. The weight-average molecular weights (MW) of polymer was found to be 11,000 with polydispersity of 1.82. UV-Visible absorption spectrum showed the maximum absorption at 428 nm (in solution) and 438 nm (in film). The highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy of the polymer is -5.36 eV by measuring cyclic voltammetry (CV). A solutionprocessed polymer thin film transistor device shows a mobility of $8.59{\pm}10^{-4}\;cm^2\;V^{-1}\;s^{-1}$, an on/off current ratio of $2.0{\times}10^4$.

  • We fabricated a pentacene thin film transistor with Poly-vinylalcohol (PVA) as a dielectric. And we used Poly(9-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) as a buffer layer to improve the electrical characteristics. PVK is a material used often host material for OLED device, as it has good film forming properties, large HOMO-LUMO(highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) bandgap. The performance of a OTFT device with PVA gate dielectric was improved by using the PVK. Field effect mobility, threshold voltage, and on-off current ratio of device with PVK layer were about 0.6 $cm^2$/Vs, -17V, and $5\times10^5$, respectively.

  • Transformation of molecular film occurs only usually in air-water interface, 2 dimensions domain's growth and crash are achieved. Organic matter thin film that accumulate molecular film in archaism board only that consist of growth of domain can understand correct special quality of accumulation film supplying information about fine structure and properties of matter of device observing information and so on that is surface forward player and optic enemy using AFM one of SPM application by nano electronics. The stable images are probably due to a strong interaction between the monolayer film and glass substrate. We are unable to obtain molecule resolution in images of the films but did see a marked contrast between images of the bare substrate and those with the network structure film deposited onto it. Formation that prevent when gas phase state and liquid phase state measure but Could know organic matter that molecules form equal and stable film when molecules were not distributed evenly. and accumulated in solid state only.

메로시아닌 색소 LB막의 상호혼합효과에 의한 J-aggregates 편광특성 (Polarization Properties of J-aggregates by Mutual Mixing Effect in the LB Films of Merocyanine Dyes)

  • The physical properties of the LB films with merocyanine dyes have been published and attract attention due to the possibility of molecular structure control. The evaluation of the thin films was focused for the purpose of molecular structure control. The molecular structure in the case of the thin films with dyes can be examine by optical absorption spectra measurements. In the result measured by optical absorption spectra, the $[DX]_{1-x}[DO]_x$ LB films shows a large in-plane anisotropy and the transition dipole moment of red-shifted band is preferentially oriented perpendicular to the dipping direction of the film, while that of the blue-shifted band prefers the dipping direction. The spectrum for $0_{\circ}$, $90_{\circ}$-polarized light coincides with the spectrum for non-polarized light and also with the spectrum was observed in the LB film deposited using a fresh solution. These results show that the aging process does not cause a structural change in chromophore but a change in the degree of molecular orientation. In the results, study of the merocyanine dyes LB films using optical absorption spectra would an interesting problem of absorbance peak shifts and mixed components.

  • The effects of selenization pressure on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the CIGS thin films prepared by RF magnetron sputtering using a single quaternary target were investigated. At selenization pressures lower than atmospheric pressure, CIGS thin films formed non-stoichiometric compounds due to deficiencies of Se vapor. In contrast, when selenization process was conducted at above atmospheric pressure, the residence time of Se vapor inside the tube increased so that the Se element could be incorporated within vacant sites of the CIGS structure, resulting in the formation of stoichiometric CIGS thin films. High quality CIGS thin films could be obtained when the selenization process was performed at pressures greater than atmospheric and $550^{\circ}C$.

Fabrication of Organic-Inorganic Nanohybrid Semiconductors for Flexible Electronic Device

  • We report a high-performance and air-stable flexible and invisible semiconductor which can be substitute for the n-type organic semiconductors. N-type organic-inorganic nanohybrid superlattices were developed for active semiconducting channel layers of thin film transistors at low temperature of $150^{\circ}C$ by using molecular layer deposition with atomic layer deposition. In these nanohybrid superlattices, self-assembled organic layers (SAOLs) offer structural flexibility, whereas ZnO inorganic layers provide the potential for semiconducting properties, and thermal and mechanical stability. The prepared SAOLs-ZnO nanohybrid thin films exhibited good flexibility, transparent in the visible range, and excellent field effect mobility (> 7cm2/$V{\cdot}s$) under low voltage operation (from -1 to 3V). The nanohybrid semiconductor is also compatible with pentacene in p-n junction diodes.

  • Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method have been used by many rescarcher because of its facility to control the thickness of film as molecular order and orientation of molecular. We fabricated MIM device using copolymer LB films of $2C_{18}MA-VE_2$ and elecctrical conduction mechanism in ultra-thin LB film were investigated. In our experimental results, the maleate copolymer LB film have the properity of insulator like organic ultra-thin fiim. Its diclcctric constant was about 3.5 and its voltage generation about 0.1 Volt. And Schottky current was apeared as electrical conduction current and Schottky barrier was about 0.9(eV).

  • Recently, a study on LB ultra thin film of molecular size is widely performed. To make use of LB ultra thin film in engineering applications, it is important to investigate how uniformly Langmuir film is deposited on a substrate. In this paper, to confirm the uniformity of film deposition, the relation between the monolayer numbers deposited and its ratio is investigated by deposition of the Y type and Hetero type LB film. If films are deposited ideally, the deposition ratio will become 1.0. From the experimental results, it can be suggested that the deposition of LB film is done well, as we obtained an approximate value 1.0 by the calculation of deposition ratio of L film area and LB film deposition area.
