In the cold rolling mill, coil breakage that generated in rolling process makes the various types of troubles such as the degradation of productivity and the damage of equipment. Recent researches were done by the mechanical analysis such as the analysis of roll chattering or strip inclining and the prevention of breakage that detects the crack of coil. But they could cover some kind of breakages. The prediction of Coil breakage was very complicated and occurred rarely. We propose to build effective prediction modes for coil breakage in rolling process, based on data mining model. We proposed three prediction models for coil breakage: (1) decision tree based model, (2) regression based model and (3) neural network based model. To reduce model parameters, we selected important variables related to the occurrence of coil breakage from the attributes of coil setup by using the methods such as decision tree, variable selection and the choice of domain experts. We developed these prediction models and chose the best model among them using SEMMA process that proposed in SAS E-miner environment. We estimated model accuracy by scoring the prediction model with the posterior probability. We also have developed a software tool to analyze the data and generate the proposed prediction models either automatically and in a user-driven manner. It also has an effective visualization feature that is based on PCA (Principle Component Analysis).
The quality of the products/processes has been improved remarkably since robust design (RD) methodology is applied into the practice manufacturing processes. A model building method based on the dual responses methods for multiple and time oriented responses on a drug development process is employed in this paper instead of the previous methods that handle the static nature of data and single response. Subsequently, the optimal solutions of a multiple and time series RD problem are obtained by using the proposed augmented weighted Tchebycheff method that has a significant flexibility on assigning weights. Finally, a pharmaceutical case study associated with a generic drug development process is conducted in order to illustrate the efficient optimal solutions from the proposed model.
While there are many successful cases where application of the TQM model has reaped substantial benefits (Corcoran, 1996; Hayday, 1996 and Massey, 1996), there is little attempt to further develop the TQM model to meet organisations' development needs. The purpose of this paper is introduce the process of development of a fit-for-purpose management system model to meet the development needs of the MTR Corporation Limited, a metro company of Hong Kong. The new management system model is formulated based on the previous research results, on TQM but comprises a new approach to bridging their pitfalls. The formulation of the TMS elements is based on the common factors of four National Quality Awards (Japan, USA, Europe and Australia) and the critical factors developed by seven studies. These studies include those of Saraph et al. (1989), Flynn et al. (1994), Anderson et al. (1995), Powell (1995), Handfield and Ghosh (1995), Black and Porter (1996), and Ahire et al. (1996).
It's difficult for other designer to understand easily, due to existing abstract form-generation method of digital authors like Greg Lynn and Peter D. Eisenman. This study uses IDEF${\emptyset}$ process diagram in order to remodel procedures and elements of this abstract 3d based form-generation method. IDEF${\emptyset}$ process diagram is the method operated prior to a design of digital program. For object-oriented modeling of each form-generation element technology, IDEF${\emptyset}$ process has been modeled. For this sort of IDEF${\emptyset}$ process modeling, digital architectural theory and analysis method has been generalized With them above, this study suggests the 3d-based form-generation IDEF${\emptyset}{\emptyset}$process model for developing digital tool eventually through the object-oriented components and setting up the mutual roles, relation as well. In conclusion, 3d-based form-generation IDEF${\emptyset}$process model, this study suggests, models form generation methods of existing digital authors using IDEF${\emptyset}$ process for developing digital tool in the future.
Increasing safety requirements of automobile are asking companies to find out solutions, based on the ISO 26262 which is a functional safety standard. ISO 26262 is an adaptation of the IEC 61508 for automotive electric/electronic systems. ISO 26262 provides a V model for ECU (Electronic Control Unit) development process to secure safety against vehicle. It well describes the requirements, necessary works and their resulting products for each development phase. However, it is difficult to apply to product development for achieving functional safety in the electric/electronic systems of an automobile because it lacks explanation on the working steps to follow and the methodologies and tools to be used in each step. In this paper, we introduce the outline of the ISO 26262 product development process and present a DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) road-map based on the ISO 26262 product development process as a way to operate efficiently the ISO 26262 product development process. The DFSS road-map consists of five phases: Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, and Verify. The detailed activities, tools, inputs, and work products are given for each phase.
This study aims to analyze the affecting factors-construction of collaborative planning process and effect on Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project. To this end, targeting the 36 districts which were selected for 2004 Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project and completed their 2010 5-year projects, components of collaborative planning process and planning effect will be drawn and the affecting factors-construction of collaborative planning and effect on Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project will be analyzed below. According to the results of this study, the affecting factors of collaborative planning process of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project on planning effect, The level of effect of individual component on endogenous variable appeared greatest mostly in the upper groups. In terms of the level of individual component effect, social learning process and interaction among participants affected greatest. The process of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project is evaluated that it reflected collaborative planning theory of Healey enough. Therefore, in the course of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project progress, collaborative planning model must pass social learning process and interaction among participants which are the most important components out of collaborative planning process as we saw in the upper groups. And in order to maximize the performance and results of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project, the following sequential affecting factors model as Figure 7 must be suggested as optimal collaborative planning models of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project. Based on the results of the study, the policy implication was drawn as follows. First, systematic supplementations in the form of a consultative body are required to perform Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project efficiently. Second, network needs to be built among different participants in Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project process. Third, systematic mechanism is required to improve social learning among different participants. Fourth, systematic rearrangement is required to guarantee the residents' realistic participation in the course of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project process.
Purpose: In recent years, efforts to improve the dental curriculum in South Korea have focused on a shift to outcome-based dental education based on core competencies in dentistry. So far, the field has seen various studies on the development of competencies, performance evaluation, and the importance of outcome-based education, but few studies have documented the development of such an education model. Therefore, this study develops an OBE curriculum for dentistry education and describes the development procedures and then finally this study intends to share our experience to other dental schools. Methods: This study introduces the development procedure and details of an outcome-based education model for dental education and presents the five stages of an outcome-based education model. In this study, 3 educational experts and 2 dental professor composed the TFT and developed the research method according to the ADDIE model. Step 1 is to conduct quantitative / qualitative research analysis through some survey and interview, Step 2 is to do a survey to revise competency, Step 3 is to develop a materials through consensus and participation of our professors of the dental school, Step 4 is to do some workshops, Step 5 is to prepare and conduct a outcome evaluation. Results: Step 1 is a required process for developing an educational model: the Job Analysis & Need Analysis stage. Step 2 is the Development of Outcome and Competency stage, which involves revising the competencies that are the basis of the curriculum. Step 3 is developing competency descriptions, competency levels, and evaluation criteria?the Development of Outcomes and Evaluation Standards. Step 4 is the Development of Milestones for Curriculum and Instructional Strategy, which examines the curriculum's problems and analyzes the improvements of each course. Step 5 is the Evaluating Outcomes stage, conducted based on the competencies specified by the target dental school. Conclustion: The model presented here can serve as a foundation for outcome-based education in other dental schools.

This study proposes a modeling process of equivalent terrains to reduce the computational load and time of a full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation. To verify the suitability of the proposed process, an original terrain model with a size of $3m{\times}3m$ is equivalently quantized based on the minimum range resolution of a radar, and the radar image of the quantized model is compared with that of the original model. The results confirm that the simulation time can be reduced from 407 hours to 162 hours without a significant distortion of the radar images, and an average estimation error of the quantized model (20.4 mm) is similar to that of the original model (20.3 mm).
