Pneumatic tires usually contain a variety of rubber compositions, each designed to contribute some particular factor to overall performance. Rubber compounds designed for a specific function will usually be similar but not identical In composition and properties. Since 1970`s finite element analysis of tire has been performed extensively, which requires some energy density functions of rubber components of a tire. The conventional Mooney-Rivlin material model is one of the description that is commonly used in the analysis of tire. In this paper, we report the two material constants of gooney-Rivlin material model for some rubber compounds of a real pneumatic tire, which are obtained through uniaxial tension test.
To extract alkali metal ions and heavy metal ions, search for crown ether model compounds (4a-b, 5a-b, 6a-b) bearing side arm has led to achieve in 5~6 steps starting from 2,6-dimethylaniline. The determination of structure in their compound derivatives were on the basis of melting point and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the solvent extraction of metal ions from the synthesized derivatives, we observed that silver ion has only high selectivity for synergistic ligation of crown ether.

When a semiconductor package is assembled, various materials such as die attach adhesive, lead frame, EMC (Epoxy Molding Compound), and gold wire are used. For better preconditioning performance, the combination between the packaging materials by studying the compatibility of their properties as well as superior packaging material selection is important. But it is not an easy task to find proper packaging material sets, since a variety of factors like package design, substrate design, substrate size, substrate treatment, die size, die thickness, die passivation, and customer requirements should be considered. This research applies case-based reasoning(CBR) technique to solve this problem, utilizing prior cases that have been experienced. Our particular interests lie in building decision support model to aid the selection of proper die attach adhesive. The preliminary results show that this approach is promising.
In this research, the organic tenside R11OSO3- with long alkyl-chain was synthesized, and the intercalationscomplexes fo montmorillonite were formed by the substitution of metallic cation in the montmorilonite by the synthesized organic tenside in following two methods, and the behaviors of the tenside R11OSO3- in the interlamellar space of montmorillonite were studied udner various conditions: 1) In order to protonize the sulfate group of R11OSO3-, the H3O-Montomorillonite, which acts as acid, was synthesized. And then, the organic tenside was intercalated in the interlamellar space of this H3O-Montomorillonite. And thus, the intercalations-complex of R11S-H3O-Montomorillonite was formed. The basal spacing obtained was about 33.84$\AA$. 2) The betaine compound R11OSO3- as a neutral molecule was direct intercalated in the interlamellar space of Na-Montmorillonite under water, and the intercalations-complexes of R11S-H2O-Montmorillonite was synthesized. In this case, the based spacing of bout 23.62$\AA$ was obtained.
Microorganisms capable of degrading trlchloroethylene(TCEI using phenol as a induction substrate were isolated from industrial effluents and soil. The strain MS-64K which had the highest blodegradablllty was identified as the genus Micrococcus. The optimal conditions of medium for the growth and blodegadatlon of trlchloroethylene were observed as follows; the initial pH 7.0, trlchloroethylene 1, 000ppm as the carbon source, 0.2% ${(NH_4)}_2SO_4$, as the nitrogen source. respectively. Lag period and degradation time on optimal medium were shorter than those on Isolation medium. Growth on the optimal medium was Increased. Addition of 0.1% Triton X-100 Increased the growth rate of Micrococcus sp. MS-64K, but degradation was equal to optimal medium. Trlchloroethylene degradation by Micrococcus sp. MS-64K was shown to fit logarithmic model when the compound was added at initial concentration of 1, 000ppm.
For the quantitative analysis of inclusion using OES data, separating of noise and inclusion is needed. In previous methods assuming that noises come from a normal distribution, intensity levels beyond a specific threshold are determined as inclusions. However, it is not possible to classify inclusions in low intensity region using this method, even though every inclusion is an element of some chemical compound. In this paper, we assume that distribution of OES data is a Gaussian mixture and estimate the parameters of the mixture model using EM algorithm. Then, we calculate mixing ratio of noise and inclusion using these parameters to separate noise and inclusion.
Effect of furnish on enzyme activity was investigated by using the three components (cellulose, enzyme, and cationic polyelectrolyte) model papermaking system. Avicel was used as a cellulose model compound to observe the effect of adsorption and desorption of enzyme with other component and the resultant change of particle size. As an experimental result, the enzyme loses considerably its apparent activity due to the adsorption onto cellulose and cationic polyelectrolyte. Activities of enzyme applied to the actual papermaking stocks having controlled fiber length showed different behavior in terms of pulp species UKP and KOCC stocks. That is, the enzyme activity in UKP was increased as fines content increased, however, vice versa in KOCC stock . This result can be considered to be the existence of various contaminants included in the fines of KOCC . The effect of possible contaminants such as inorganic materials, calcium ion, surfactant, and conductivity on enzyme activity were also investigated.
The scope of the research is investigation of immune-modulating activities of A. rugosa (Baechohyang) extract was preformed through the screening active constituents using in vitro assays and evaluating anti-inflammatory activity and anti-atherosclerotic activity of the extract and active compound (tilianin) in vivo. In addition, various functional foods using the extract and whole plant was developed. The extract showed strong anti-inflammatory activity in carrageenan-induced acute edema mouse model and anti-atherogenic lesion activity in LDLR (low density lipoprotein receptor) deficient mouse model. These activities were thought to be resulted from modulation activity of several pathways of inflammation process. Among the main constituents of Baechohyang, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), Phytosterols, oleanolic acid and rosmarinic acid showed anticomplement activity, and PUFA, acacetin and tilianin newly showed potent ICAM-1 expression inhibition activity. The processes of extraction, mixing ratio of additives and storage conditions were established for drinks, granule tea, leaf tea, mixed tea and furigake.
Zinc diffusion characteristics and its applicabilities have been studied using an open-tube system. Thermal decomposition of arsenide(As) at gallium arsenide(GaAs) wafer surface was well inhibited by using Ga: poly-GaAs: Zn compositon as a diffusion source. Junction depth was obtained as 4.6x10**7\ulcorner exp)-1.25/kT) where activation energy of diffusion was 1.25eV. From Boltzmann-matano analysis, it could be identified that concentration dependencies of Zn diffusivity well consisted with those of kick-out model. The ideality factor of p+-n junction formed by Zn diffusion was about 1.6 and infrared light intensity was linearly varied in the range of sixty folds. It is concluded frodm these results that Zn diffuses according to kick-out model, and open-tube method is applicable to compound semiconductor devices.
