  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the convergent mock interview program on college students who are preparing for employment and their effects on program demand, career attitude maturity and job preparation stress. The study subjects were 73 nursing students and pre - 4th grade college students. Data collection was done before and after the application of the program. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 23.0 program. The results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the program demand (t = 7.92, p <.001) and career attitude maturity (t = 3.35, p = .001).but Job stress (t = .98, p = .327) was not found to have any effect Based on these results, we propose to increase the program period and to develop and apply a customized convergence program tailored to the characteristics of the students.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of emotional arousal and cognitive load on pupil diameter during a lie detection interview. The guilty group (n = 30) committed a mock crime (i.e., stealing cash) and the innocent group (n = 30) performed a mission (i.e., sending a message) in the research assistant's office. After that, their pupil size was measured using a wearable eye-tracker during the interview. The interview questions were classified with the three cognitive load, three emotional arousal, and three neutral questions. The results indicate that the main effects of group and time were not significant, but the interaction between group and time was significant. It means that when answering cognitive load questions, the guilty group showed larger increase in pupil diameter than the innocent group. The present study suggests that inducing cognitive load is more effective than inducing emotional arousal during an interview when using pupil diameter as an index of deception, and it is expected to improve the accuracy of lie detection.

  • Image making for a person is a way to improve various factors that can express oneself, such as appearance, impression, and confidence. In general, people use mirror or camera as a traditional method to make their own image or perform presentation exercises. Recently, as smart mirrors are widely used in various fields, attempts to use smart mirrors as image making tools instead of mirrors have been frequently made. Smart Mirror is considered as a suitable tool to provide image making service because it can attach various devices such as a camera and a microphone in addition to the main advantage of a mirror that it is easily accessible. In this paper, we present BuddyMirror - a smart mirror software that provides image-making service to users, and a dedicated mobile app for flexibly running the mirror software. BuddyMirror provides functions for presentation, mock interview, and styling service at the request of users, interworking with the dedicated mobile app. We also describe the techniques developed for implementing and activating each of the new services as a module of MagicMirror, a widely used smart mirror development platform. The developed mobile app enables users to deliver presentations to BuddyMirror or to download the recorded video for image-making services.

  • Witnesses will be exposed to a variety of misinformation after the witnessing of the event and state at the scene of the investigation after the delay period. This study was conducted to promote correct recall reporting without being affected by factors that against correct recall. Self-Administered Interview(SAI) is known to obtain eyewitness accounts quickly and accurately. Therefore, we performed a SAI to see if it reported more information than the control group that did not perform the SAI. Also, it also performed that correct information was maintained without being affected by misinformation and delay. Eighty-eight participants were asked to perform SAI or game after showing a video of mock crime. Misinformation was presented in the first or second session to see if it affected recall. An analysis of responses from the final test conducted in the second session by participants showed that groups that conducted SAI after a four-week delay reported more correct information than control groups, while there was no difference between incorrect- and confabulation information. In particular, the timing of presenting misinformation did not affect the amount of recall. This suggests that conducting the SAI immediately after witnessing the event protects correct information even after four weeks. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study, and subsequent studies were discussed.

  • To enhance employment rate of students, every college provides various methods, such as consulting, information provision, course and mock interview. Students also are trying to get high GPA scores, to achieve certificates and to enhance english ability for getting jobs. We analyzed the relations self-confidence in getting jobs, college supports, students preparation for getting jobs and job-seeking stress via structural equation modelling. We found that college supports increase students preparation for getting jobs and job-seeking stress lessens self-confidence in getting jobs.

  • Considering the number of population commuting from Gyeonggi to Seoul, the development of the bus system is relatively slow. There are many problems to be solved but it has been overlooked, leaving the users in discomfort. The goal of this research is to improve the current system to satisfy the unmet needs, using HCI methods, which is composed of five steps, including Define, Find, Analyze & Synthesize, Ideation, Develop. In Define, we recruited the interviewees using the extreme user method to find their needs. In Find, we proceeded 'be the customer', shadowing for background research and in-depth interview. In Analyze & Synthesis, we analyzed the customer needs and clustered to similar needs to draw useful ideas. After that we suggested sophisticated ideas based on design principles from previous stage and visualized in user scenarios and mock-ups. Overall, the research suggests with text message service, informative light service and mobile application to improve the existing bus station.

  • This study explores lectures experienced by pre-service early childhood teachers at 'S' university who took the linked-courses in Early Childhood Education major, and examine its in-depth meaning. The 29 study participants demonstrated a mock class during the Early Childhood Teaching Method course and developed teaching materials for demonstration during the Early Childhood Teaching Material and Teaching Method course in the first semester of 2017. The researchers analyzed group-based learning journal, teaching portfolio and focus-group interview of pre-service early childhood teachers. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, pre-service early childhood teachers found that the balanced linkage of two subjects enabled them to effectively concentrate on the course. Second, they were able to organize linked-knowledge by creating teaching materials and preparing for the course after learning from their mistakes. Third, the teachers became able to understand the importance of the experience of linked-courses in Early Childhood Education major. Fourth, they also got to understand the value of special bonds among group members. To summarize, this study suggests the necessity and importance of pre-service early childhood teachers' experience of linked-courses in Early Childhood Education major for their education course.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose a "user experience (UX)-centered product development process" so that the product design development process using the service design process can be systematized and used in practice. In a situation in which usability research on office phones is lacking compared to general home phones, this study expands to a product-based service design point of view rather than simple product development, intending to research ways to provide user experience value through office phone design in smart office. This study focused on extracting UX-centered user needs using the service design process and developing product design that realizes user experience value. In particular, the service design process was applied to systematically extract user needs and experience value elements in the product development process and to discover ideas that were converged with product-based services. For this purpose, the "Double Diamond Design Process Model," which is widely used in the service design field, was adopted. In addition, a product design development process was established so that usability improvement plans, user experience value elements, and product-service connected ideas could be extracted through a work-flow in which real users and people from various fields participate. Based on the double diamond design process, in the "Discover" information collection stage, design trends were identified mainly in the office phone markets. In the "Define" analysis and extraction stage, user needs were analyzed through user observation, interview, and usability survey, and design requirements and user experience issues were extracted. Persona was set through user type analysis, and user scenarios were presented. In the "Develop" development stage, ideation workshops and concept renderings were conducted to embody the design, and people from various fields within the company participated to set the design direction reflecting design preference and usability improvement plans. In the "Deliver" improvement/prototype development/evaluation stage, a working mock-up of a design prototype was produced and design and usability evaluation were conducted through consultation with external design experts. It is meaningful that it established a "UX-centered product development process" model that converged with the existing product design development process and service design process. Ultimately, service design-based product design development process was presented so that I Corp.'s products could realize user experience value through service convergence.
