  • Mobile traffic is increasing a masse because of the propagation of the Internet and the development of wireless mobile technology. Accordingly, the Network Local Mobility Management (NETLMM) working group [1] of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has standardized Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) [2] as a protocol for accomplishing the transmissibility of mobile terminals. PMIPv6 is a network-led IP-based mobility management protocol, which can control terminal mobility without depending on the type of access system or the capability of the terminal. By combining PMIPv6 and the mobility of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), we can establish terminal mobility and session mobility through a more effective route. The mobility function can be improved and the overlap of function reduced as compared to that in the case of independent operation. PMIPv6 is appropriate for a non-real-time service using TCP, and SIP is appropriate for a real-time service using RTP/UDP. Thus, in the case of a terminal using both services, an effective mobility management is possible only by using PMIPv6 together with SIP. In order to manage mobility in this manner, researches on PMIPv6-SIP are in progress. In line with this trend, this paper suggests a new PMIPv6-SIP architecture where when a mobile terminal conducts a handover, a network-led handover while maintaining the session without the addition of a special function or middleware is possible along with effective performance evaluation through mathematical modeling by comparing the delay and the packet loss that occur during the handover to the Pure-SIP.

  • Recently, due to the rapid development of the internet, the production and demand of high capacity contents are rapidly increasing. In order to accommodate the changing trend of internet usage, researches on CCN, the future internet architecture, are actively being conducted. Mobility support is an important challenge in CCN real-time services, given that today's internet environment is changing to mobile and real-time services are increasing. In CCN real-time services, the mobility problem can be largely divided into consumer mobility, provider mobility, and intermediate-node mobility. Among them, when the intermediate-node moves in the CCN real-time services, the service disconnection occurs and the QoS degradation is caused. In this paper. we propose Intermediate-Node Mobility Support(INMS) to support the intermediate-node mobility in CCN real-time services. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme shows better performance than CCN in terms of service disconnection time and packet loss.

  • Mobility Model has drawn more and more attentions since its critical role in Mobile Wireless Networks performance evaluation. This paper analyzes the mobility patterns in the catastrophe rescue scenario, and proposes the Random Waypoint with Base Point mobility model to model these characteristics. We mathematically analyze the speed and spatial stationary distributions of the nodes and derive explicit expressions for the one dimensional case. In order to keep the stationary distribution through the entire simulation procedure, we provide strategies to initialize the speed, location and destination of the nodes at the beginning of the simulation. The simulation results verify the derivations and the proposed methods in this paper. This work gives a deep understanding of the properties of the Random Waypoint with Base Point mobility model and such understanding is necessary to avoid misinterpretation of the simulation results. The conclusions are of practical value for performance analysis of mobile wireless networks, especially for the catastrophe rescue scenario.

  • The Next generation IP-based wireless access network proposed Mobile IP(IPv4) protocols to support mobility of node. Because Mobile IPv4 operates on th basis deigned IP in fixed network, it causes performance drop like triangle routing and handover delay. Therefore Mobile IPv4 needs scheme to complement this problems and to support service guaranteed QoS. Concerns about using MPLS networks in the next generation IP-based wireless access network are increasing. In our previous research, we proposed MCS&MUMCA, IP mobility management scheme. In this paper, we linkage the MCS&MUMCA in MPLS network and analyze its the performance.

  • This article describes the 5G-NR-V2X system and its communication performance methodology. We present a system that can develop and verify the performance of self-driving services in a real road test environment using OBU and RSU for 5G-NR-V2X communication (level 4 or higher). This system ensures ultra-high speed (150Mbps or more), ultra-low latency (3ms or less), and high reliability (99.99 percent) in communication robustness, even under malicious conditions. The 5G-NR-V2X system and performance analysis method proposed in this paper are anticipated to aid in the development of V2X communication technologies that are ultrafast, ultralow-delay, and high-confidence. In addition, it is expected that the services validated by the suggested performance analysis technique will enhance technological competitiveness in the road, transportation, logistics, and commerce industries.

  • Out-of-home mobility is necessary for accessing commodities, making use of neighborhood facilities, and participation in meaningful social, cultural, and physical activities. Mobility also promotes healthy aging as it relates to the basic human need of physical movement. Mobility is typically assessed either with standardized performance-based tests or with self-reports of perceived difficulty in carrying out specific mobility tasks. Mobility declines with increasing age, and the most complex and demanding tasks are affected first. Sometimes people cope with declining functional capacity by making changes in their way or frequency of doing these tasks, thus avoiding facing manifest difficulties. From the physiological point of view, walking is an integrated result of the functioning of the musculoskeletal, cardio-respiratory, sensory and neural systems. Studies have shown that interventions aiming to increase muscle strength will also improve mobility. Physical activity counseling, an educational intervention aiming to increase physical activity, may also prevent mobility decline among older people. Sensory deficits, such as poor vision and hearing may increase the risk of mobility decline. Consequently, rehabilitation of sensory functions may prevent falls and decline in mobility. To promote mobility, it is not enough to target only individuals because environmental barriers to mobility may also accelerate mobility decline among older people. Communities need to promote the accessibility of physical environments while also trying to minimize negative or stereotypic attitudes toward the physical activity of older people.

  • In wireless networks, efficient mobility management to support of mobile users is very important. Several mobility management schemeshave been proposed with the aim of reducing the signaling traffic of MN(Mobile Node). Among them, PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) is similar with host-based mobility management protocols but MN does not require any process for mobility. By introducing new mobile agent like MAG (Mobile Access Gateway) and LMA (Local Mobility Anchor), it provides IP mobility to MN. In this paper, we propose the analytical model to evaluate the mean signalingdelay and the mean bandwidth according to the type of MN mobility. As a result of mathematical analysis, MF-PMIP (Multicasting-based FastPMIP) outperforms compared to F-PMIP and PMIP in terms of parameters for the performance evaluation.

  • In this paper we report the development of mobility test bed, the realization of basic protocol that supports L3 mobility and the measurement of performance parameters that can affect handover performance. Previously proposed mobility management system, BBM (Break Before Make) method such as MIPV6 and Fast MIPV6, uses one interface in wireless network. In this method, to connect to new AP, it first disconnects existing AP and tries to connect to new AP. This can cause packet loss for the traffic vulnerable to delay such as VoIP. To provide seamless handover between different wireless networks, we propose MBB (Make Before Break) handover method having two network interfaces. Comparative study of previous method and proposed method on mobility and handover was conducted under simulated real environment on the test bed. Almost no packet loss was found with newly proposed method. In conclusion, it is shown that mobility protocol with proposed handover method can be applied to the application services sensitive to delay and packet loss.

  • This paper proposes a communication distance performance evaluation method for mobility of service robots equipped with a Wi-Fi module. Service robots have function of mobile communication system according to classified services and utilize a (preferred) communication method, wireless lan(IEEE802.11 a/b/gin) communication method of ISM band(2.4GHz and 5.8GHz). For evaluating degradation performance of wireless data for the service robot's mobility. We measured and presented reference vectors obtained by utilizing a distance attenuation correlation method in the real world environment. To evaluate performance of the proposed method, path loss of reference vectors was assigned to the Azimuth 301W and then transmission rate and the transmit throughput of the test sample were measured by the Chariot. The proposed measurement method is necessary for securing wireless LAN communication distance for mobility of mobile smart device and service robots. In addition, if the proposed measurement method os adopted, It would be expected that mobile smart device vendors would utilize the method as an effective wireless LAN mobility communication distance performance evaluation method.

  • Mobility management of the mobile nodes and provision of seamless handover is crucial to an efficient support for the global roaming of the mobile nodes in next-generation wireless networks. Mobile IPv6 and mobility management in extended IP layer, which highly depend on traffic characteristics and user mobility models, were proposed by the IETF. Therefore, to evaluate the in-depth performance about these factors is important. Generally, the performance of IPv6-based mobility management protocol is evaluated through simulation. This paper shows the correlation between network parameters and performance metrics through numerical results, which is investigated how influence handoff latency and packet loss. And this paper uses mathematical analysis of the system parameters, such as the subnet residence time, the packet arrival rate and delay in wireless connection through the analytical framework which evaluate the performance of IPv6-based mobility management protocol.
