  • In this paper, a mobile cloud-based agent model is proposed in order to overcome the resource constraints and the difficulties of installing a variety of complex applications in mobile devices. The proposed software architecture overcomes the disadvantages of mobile devices and maximizes usage of cloud services by implementing the function of mobile agent concept. The significant portion of the cloud services is run in the cloud server and the client application implemented in the mobile device can call and control appropriate service from the cloud server. Thus, the inherent weakness of the mobile can be overcome by executing the target applications on cloud nodes.

  • As a futuristic construction model, building information model (BIM) based project management system (PMIS) and mobile BIM simulator apps have been showing visible sign. However, researches on the BIM based 3D simulator using mobile device are hard to find result from limitation of mobile device (slow speed at huge 3D file, display size, and etc.) and undefined standard of business processes. Therefore, this research aims at studying application of mobile BIM apps based on cloud computing. Total 8 BIM cloud apps were selected and analyzed in the 5 application feasibility characteristics (speed, view, inquiry, markup, and usability). This research would be essential phase to construct BIM based mobile project management system using cloud computing in the future.

  • In recent days, trend technologies for cloud, bigdata, or mobile, as the important marketable keywords or paradigm in Information Communication Technology (ICT), are widely used and interrelated each other in the various types of platforms and web-based services. Especially, the combination of cloud and mobile is recognized as one of a profitable business models, holding benefits of their own. Despite these challenging aspects, there are a few application cases of this model dealing with geo-based data sets or imageries. Among many considering points for geo-based cloud application on mobile, this study focused on a performance test of mobile cloud of Bayesian image fusion algorithm with satellite images. Two kinds of cloud platform of Amazon and OpenStack were built for performance test by CPU time stamp. In fact, the scheme for performance test of mobile cloud is not established yet, so experiment conditions applied in this study are to check time stamp. As the result, it is revealed that performance in two platforms is almost same level. It is implied that open source mobile cloud services based on OpenStack are enough to apply further applications dealing with geo-based data sets.

  • The increasing ubiquity of wireless networks and decreasing cost of hardware is fueling a proliferation of mobile devices. These devices are enabling a new revolution in mobile technology, not only running locally on them, but running on cloud as a service as well. From web browsing, email, or video conferencing, presentations to movie and music entertainment or games, multimedia applications, mobile cloud enables providing such diverse applications. Many technologies have been designed to address the limited hardware and performance in thin client PC. However, with the assorted network and graphic condition, those proposed technologies is obligated to alter aim to adapt mobile cloud. In this paper, we provide a survey of client technology on a Server that can be sufficed the requirements of Mobile Cloud. We also analyze each technology and classify with its individual difficulties and challenges.

  • Mobile cloud computing (MCC) combines mobile Internet and cloud computing to improve the performance of applications. In MCC, the data processing and storage for mobile devices (MDs) is provided on the remote cloud. However, MCC faces the problem of energy efficiency caused by randomly varying channels. In this paper, by introducing the Lyapunov optimization method, we propose a combined service subscription and delivery (CSSD) algorithm that can guide the users to subscribe to services reasonably. This algorithm can also determine whether to deliver the data and to whom data is sent in the current time unit based on the queue backlog and the channel state. Numerical results validate the correctness and effectiveness of our proposed CSSD algorithm.

  • With the advent of the data era, people pay much more attention to data corruption. Aiming at the problem that the majority of existing schemes do not support corruption detection of ciphertext data stored in cloud environment, this paper proposes a data corruption detection scheme based on ciphertexts in cloud environment (DCDC). The scheme is based on the anomaly detection method of Gaussian model. Combined with related statistics knowledge and cryptography knowledge, the encrypted detection index for data corruption and corruption detection threshold for each type of data are constructed in the scheme according to the data labels; moreover, the detection token for data corruption is generated for the data to be detected according to the data labels, and the corruption detection of ciphertext data in cloud storage is realized through corresponding tokens. Security analysis shows that the algorithms in the scheme are semantically secure. Efficiency analysis and simulation results reveal that the scheme shows low computational cost and good application prospect.

  • Cloud storage services are used for efficient sharing or synchronizing of user's data across multiple mobile devices. Although cloud storages provide flexibility and scalability in storing data, security issues should be handled. Currently, typical cloud storage services offer data encryption for security purpose but we think such method is not secure enough because managing encryption keys by software and identifying users by simple ID and password are main defectives of current cloud storage services. We propose a secure data access method to cloud storage in mobile environment. Our framework supports hardware-based key management, attestation on the client software integrity, and secure key sharing across the multiple devices. We implemented our prototype using ARM TrustZone and TPM Emulator which is running on secure world of the TrustZone environment.

  • Globally, mobile, cloud computing or big data are the recent marketable key terms. These trend technologies or paradigm in the ICT (Information Communication Technology) fields exert large influence on the most application fields including geo-spatial applications. Among them, cloud computing, though the early stage in Korea now, plays a important role as a platform for other trend technologies uses. Especially, mobile cloud, an integrated platform with mobile device and cloud computing can be considered as a good solution to overcome well known limitations of mobile applications and to provide more information processing functionalities to mobile users. This work is a case study to design and implement the mobile application system for geo-spatial image filtering processing operated on mobile cloud platform built using OpenStack and various open sources. Filtering processing is carried out using R environment, recently being recognized as one of big data analysis technologies. This approach is expected to be an element linking geo-spatial information for new service model development and the geo-spatial analysis service development using R.

  • Recent network environment has been rapidly evolved to cloud computing environment based on the development of the Internet technologies. Furthermore there is an increasing demand on mobile cloud computing due to explosive growth of smart devices and wide deployment of LTE-based cellular networks. Thus mobile Desktop-as-a-Service(DaaS) could be a pervasive service for nomadic users. In addition, video streaming traffic is currently more than two-thirds of mobile traffic and ever increasing. All such trends enable that video streaming in mobile DaaS could be an important concern for mobile cloud computing. It should be noted that the performance of the Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) on cloud host servers greatly affects Quality of Service(QoS) of video streams for mobile users. With widely deployed Linux server platforms for cloud computing, in this paper, we conduct an experimental analysis of the twelve Linux TCP variants in mobile DaaS environments. The results of our experiments show that the TCP Illinois outperforms the other TCP variants in terms of wide range of packet loss rate and propagation delay over LTE-based wireless links between cloud servers and mobile devices, even though TCP CUBIC is usually used in default in the current Linux systems.
