  • In this letter, we analyze the problems with the existing telematics service systems that have been dependently developed and provided on a specific mobile network infrastructure. Then, we suggest methods to solve the problems and propose an architecture of the gateway and framework to implement our methods. We also verify the effectiveness of the suggested architecture through a comparison with an existing telematics system. With this architecture, it is possible to develop service applications without knowledge of the underlying mobile network technology and the system integration methods.

  • Recently the wireless-internet has been spreading extensively. People are spending a large part of their time gaining access to information using a mobile device. However. limited process speed. low bandwidth, the low battery capacity of mobile devices and a high rate of wireless network errors brings out many overheads during service time with server for service. In this paper, we suggest an autonomous service delivery system. which provides mobile agent capability to users that can not maintain a connection. We have developed the system based on java mobile agent technology. Using this system, we can provide more effective services to users when the user is sending requirements of service through a mobile device that has limited resources and can manage the contact server dynamically when new services are added.

  • As mobile markets in most developed countries are rapidly coming close to saturation, it is increasingly challenging to cover the cost of providing the network, as revenues are not growing. This has driven mobile operators, thus far mostly involved in facility-based competition, to turn their attention to network sharing. There exist various types of mobile network sharing (MNS), from passive to active sharing. In this paper, we propose a model, based on the supply-demand model, for evaluating the economic effects of using six types of MNS. Our study measures the economic effects of employing these six types of MNS, using actual WiBro-related data. Considering lower service price and expenditure reduction, the total economic effect from a year's worth of MNS use is estimated to be between 513 million and 689 million USD, which is equal to three to four percent of the annual revenue of Korean mobile operators. The results of this study will be used to support the establishment of a MNS policy in Korea. In addition, the results can be used as a basic model for developing various network sharing models.

  • Telecommunication network are becomming bigger and more complex. Its difficult to manage efficiently the networks, because these networks usually have heterogeneous and inompatoble compinents. Nevertheless, current approaches to network management have focused on centralized managementstrategies based on client-server architecture. These approaches have resulted in much weakness in the real-time management, the service extensibility, and the network scalability. In thispaper, we applied the mobile agent technology to solve the above problems. Jave is a promising technology for developing mobile agent system. But, there are several problems like the service extensibility in using the Java. To solve these problems, a new approach using digital signature is suggested to authenticate mobile agent in network management environments. This approach can solve the conflict between security of the system and extensibility of the mobile code. Moreover, the system suggested in this paper show the decentralized and flexible network management solutions.

Abstract As the communication technology has been developed, it is necessary to provide the IN service in the mobile network as well as the fixed network and many researches are in progress. In this paper we propose the network model to efficiently provide IN service in the mobile network. There are two signaling architectures between MSC/SSP and SCP/HLR. To show that it is efficient to provide the IN service in the proposed model, we propose IN service provision method using VLR and analyze the performance of IN service management in two architectures. These methods are to download the IN service profiles that are saved in SCP to VLR and to decrease the connection to SCP when the user requests the IN service. The proposed methods show that the load of SCP/HLR is decreased and our method is better than IMT-2000 in the aspect of IN service management.

  • The key features of 5G mobile communications recently commercialized can be represented by High Data Rate, Connection Density and Low Latency, of which the features most distinct from the existing 4G will be low Latency, which will be the foundation for various new service offerings. AR and self-driving technologies are being considered as services that utilize these features, and 5G Network Latency is also being discussed in related standards. However, it is true that the discussion of E2E Latency from a service perspective is much lacking. The final goal to achieve low Latency at 5G is to achieve 1ms of air interface based on RTD, which can be done through Ultra-reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) through Rel-16 in early 20 years, and further network parity through Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is also being studied. In addition to 5G network-related factors, the overall 5G E2E Latency also includes link/equipment Latency on the path between the 5G network and the IDC server for service delivery, and the Processing Latency for service processing within the mobile app and server. Meanwhile, it is also necessary to study detailed service requirements by separating Latency for initial setup of service and Latency for continuous service. In this paper, the following three factors were reviewed for initial setup of service. First, the experiment and analysis presented the impact on Latency on the Latency in the case of 1 Data Lake Setup, 2 CRDX On/Off for efficient power, and finally 3H/O on Latency. Through this, we expect Low Latency to contribute to the service requirements and planning associated with Latency in the initial setup of the required services.

  • The wide deployment of wireless access technologies and the integration of various access network interfaces into a single terminal, allows mobile end-users to be always connected to the IP network, and to use those interface simultaneously. In this paper the CTE provides various access network interfaces capabilities, allowing reception of data over multiple service providers with different characteristics. Considerations for multiple network and service provider environments are regarded as essential for the successful deployment of convergence services in Next Generation Network (NGN). Event Driven Service (EDS) is regarded as a typical convergence service converging different functions of multiple service providers. This paper first describes the deployment model of NGN convergence services for multiple service provider environments. It also covers the service scenario of EDS, a convergence service for multiple service provider environments in NGN. Multiple provider environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely ubiquitous identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided convergence services without awareness of multiple provides. Then the designed structure and procedures of U-ID based EDS are given. Finally, the implementation results tested on Korea Advanced Research Network (KOREN) are described.

  • Mobile games have become one of the most important driving forces of the game industry. We focus on the continuous intention to use Chinese mobile games from the perspective of experiential marketing and network externalities. We integrate user experience, network externalities and flow theory into expectation confirmation model and explore the influencing factors of continuous usage intention of Chinese mobile game and propose a research model. Game experience, service experience, perceived enjoyment, social interaction, challenge, perceived number of users and perceived number of peers were employed as independent variables, while flow, perceived value and satisfaction as mediating variables and continuous intention as the dependent variable. After surveying 426 samples, the model is tested with structural equation model. The results reveal that perceived enjoyment significantly positively influences perceived value, flow, satisfaction, and continuous intention. The greater the enjoyment of the game, the greater the satisfaction of the game and the greater the willingness to use it continuously. Game experience has a significant direct effect on continuous intention, which indicates that a better game experience can retain more users. Service experience and perceive number of peers positively influence satisfaction. Another finding is that social interaction and perceived number of users positively influence perceived value and flow, which indicate that social attributes are critical roles for retaining users. Game challenge also positively influences flow. The proper level of challenge is more likely to cause users to enter the state of flow. Flow indirectly influences continuous usage intention through the satisfaction of the game, which indicates that satisfaction is driven by flow experience and further retaining users. Empirical results implied that mobile game companies need to focus on improving user experience, expectation satisfaction and extending network externalities to improve the continuous intention of using mobile game.

  • A moving network is the usage model that provides the mobile stations to the communication service via the mobile relay deployed in the high-speed vehicle. The mobile relay periodically performs the signal strength measurement of the neighbor base stations to select the target base station during the handover procedure. The mobile stations experience the service disruption during the measurement of the mobile relay. In this paper, we propose the estimation based scanning method to overcome the service disruption of the mobile stations connected via the mobile relay. In the proposed method, mobile stations subordinated in the mobile relay periodically measure the signal strength of neighbor base stations in order to perform handover. The measured signal strength is used to estimate the signal strength between the mobile relay and the neighbor base station. We performed simulations in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method in terms of the estimation accuracy and the overhead due to the exchange of channel information. By the simulation result, The estimation error is less than 4dBm when more than 6 mobile stations are used for the estimation. The overhead caused by the proposed method is less than that caused by the direct measurement of the mobile relay when the data rate is more than 8Mbps.

  • In an infrastructure-based wireless network, an access point is used for all communications among mobile devices. However, when a mobile device moves into a dead Bone, a connectivity disruption between the mobile device and the access point occurs. Such connectivity disruption consequently leads to another connectivity disruption between the mobile device moving toward the dead zone and other wireless-enabled devices located within the area of the infrastructure-based wireless network. To cope with the connectivity disruption in the infrastructure-based wireless network the ad hoc network that dynamically forms a network without any preexisting communication infrastructure needs to be set up to provide seamless connections among mobile devices. In this paper, we propose the DNSQ-MAC (Dynamic Network State aware QoS-Medium Access Control) technique that meets the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and guarantees the QoS performance of an ad hoc-based wireless network. Mobile devices incorporating the DNSQ-MAC technique are capable of adjusting to the new dynamic network status in order to enhance the QoS performance in the ad hoc-based wireless network. A case study which exploits the Qualnet simulator shows that the proposed DNSQ-MAC technique can guarantee the deadlines of MAC frames forwarded over hop-by-hop multipaths and enhance the QoS performance of various routing protocols and packet schedulers running on the network layer above the MAC layer.
