Mobile WiMAX technology is the key solution for providing high speed internet services at anytime and anywhere in mobile environments as 3.5th wireless technology between 3rd generation and 4th generation wireless technology, and the service demands shall be rapidly increased in future some years. This paper analyzed the QoS performance of Mobile WiMAX technology recommended by IEEE 802.16e specification under the restricted simulation conditions and environments. The major metrics for analyzing QoS performance of Mobile WiMAX are 1) total packet drop rates; 2) transmission / receive packet sizes; 3) end to end delay in node 2; 4) packet drop rate by mobile terminal mobility.

Based on current practical needs for geo-spatial information on mobile platform, the main theme of this study is a design and implementation of dynamic 3D terrain rendering system using spaceborne imagery, as a kind of texture image for photo-realistic 3D scene generation on mobile environment. Image processing and 3D graphic techniques and algorithms, such as TIN-based vertex generation with regular spacing elevation data for generating 3D terrain surface, image tiling and image-vertex texturing in order to resolve limited resource of mobile devices, were applied and implemented by using graphic pipeline of OpenGL|ES (Embedded System) API. Through this implementation and its tested results with actual data sets of DEM and satellite imagery, we demonstrated the realizable possibility and adaptation of complex typed and large sized 3D geo-spatial information in mobile devices. This prototype system can be used to mobile 3D applications with DEM and satellite imagery in near future.

In this paper, we implemented an e-mail and chat program (client) for communication between mobile devices and PCs based on WIPI a South Korea's open wireless platform form developing device and content independent software to break from the way of developing contents that is dependent on different wireless platforms to each mobile communications company. While traditional e-mail and chat programs are written for PC-to-PC communication, we develop them for mobile-to-PC and mobile-to-mobile communications, and we expect to see various mobile contents in the future.

Recognizing the importance of the database query optimization design methods, we implemented mobile database with mobile program (J2ME) which is a useful database procedures. In doing so, we emphasize the logical query optimization which brings mobile database to performance improvement. The research implies that the suggested mobile program (J2ME) would contribute to the realization of the efficient mobile database as the related technology develops in the future.

The mobile office, which was expected to be a key strategy for business operation through business innovation, was slow to spread from the BYOD environment to information security issues. This study analyzes mobile office information security and analyzes countermeasures against mobile information security threats to analyze the influence of information security factors on corporate satisfaction and continuous use of mobile office service. The results of the study were identified through the research model and hypothesis, quantitative empirical analysis based on the questionnaire and qualitative empirical analysis based on the expert interview. Through this study, practical implications and future directions for mobile office service satisfaction and continuous use are suggested.

Nowadays the development of mobile systems occupies significant part of our life, and users using mobile phones are demanding the utilization of differentiated spatial information. A study on application which provides information according to individual location information such as mobile advertisement is conducted for the location-based mobile service. In order to allow mobile phone users to share information based on local information, this paper proposes a mobile sharing system which combines social networks and location-based service to provide efficient information based on location information in mobile phones. The application can be provided with information associated with its location when the mobile phone user arrives at a specific location. Another proposed method focuses on providing more appropriate services for individual situations compared to other applications, and can contribute to expanding social networking functions to facilitate information sharing among users.

Due to the explosive popularization of the Internet, it has been researched for many mobile terminals how to receive various multimedia information. Especially, it has been considered that a mobile terminal is serviced with multimedia information through a inherent IP address. In this paper we have proposed the Handover Signaling Method and analyzed the Handover delay time of this proposed method in wireless section. This proposed method is appropriate to Broadband systems with Mobile IP. We have simulated Handover delay time with respect to the distance between a terminal and base stations

Information centric mobile network can significantly improve the data retrieving efficiency by caching contents at mobile edge. However, the cache pollution attack can affect the data obtaining process severely by requiring unpopular contents deliberately. To tackle the problem, we design an algorithm of mitigating cache pollution attacks in information centric mobile network. Particularly, the content popularity distribution statistic is proposed to detect abnormal behavior. Then a probabilistic caching strategy based on abnormal behavior is applied to dynamically maintain the steady-state distribution for content visiting probability and achieve the purpose of defense. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher request hit ratio and smaller latency for false locality content pollution attack than the CacheShield approach and the baseline approach where no mitigation approach is applied.

On the limited urban area, precise measurement of meteorological data is not easy for the cost problem. The facilities collecting the data require high installment costs. The mobile sources can be a solution in city region. For example, a public bus on which some meteorological sensors are installed can act as moving information gathering station. The information is gathered on a server and aggregated to generate useful information for smart phone application. To implement the services, several obstacles are exists. This paper studies on a design of this mobile meteorological information service system for urban area.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the middle-aged adults' mobile information behavior focused on their demographic characteristics. To achieve the aim of this study data were collected from 50 to 64 years old middle-aged adults who live in different size of cities and towns in Korea using self-designed questionnaire through online and offline survey. Gender, academic background, income level, size of residential zone, physical condition, and occupation were adopted as demographic characteristics, and type of mobile contents use, hour of mobile use, ability of mobile use, persistency of mobile use, and usability of mobile were used as the mobile information behavior in this study. Total of 191 valid data were analysed using SPSS Ver. 21. The results of this empirical study revealed that there exist a significant difference between some of their demographical characteristics (e.g., academic backgrounds, income level, and occupation) and mobile information behaviors particularly in their contents use.
