Motion Control of an Outdoor Patrol Robot using a Single Laser Range Finder (야외 순찰로봇을 위한 단일 레이저거리센서 기반 충돌 회피 주행 제어기법 개발)

  • This paper reports the development of a mobile robot for patrol using a single laser range finder. A Laser range finder is useful for outdoor environment regardless of illumination change or various weather conditions. In this paper we combined the motion control of the mobile robot and the algorithm for detecting the outdoor environment. For obstacle avoidance, we adopted the Vector Field Histogram algorithm. A laser range finder is mounted on the mobile robot and looking down the road with a small tilt angle. We propose an algorithm for detecting the surface of the road. The outdoor patrol robot platform is equipped with a DGPS system, a gyro-compass sensor, and a laser range finder. The proposed obstacle avoidance and road detection algorithms were experimentally tested in success.

Determinants of The Continuance Intention to Use in The Korean 3G Telecommunications Market

  • Korean mobile telecommunications market is shifting from 2G to 3G service. Considering the revenue of voice-based communication has reached its maximum, 3G services can provide telecommunication companies with the opportunity to increase their revenues. As the competition in the market is becoming fierce, mobile carriers are trying to increase their profits by preventing their customers from switching to rivals. In this regard, managing customer can be a key success factor of the mobile telecommunications business by retaining existing customer. In this research, we tried to develop and test a model that aids further understanding of the determinants of continuance intention to use the current 3G service. We conducted empirical study through the analysis of 3G service users' data in Korea. The results indicated that continuance intention to use the current 3G is dependent on the customer's satisfaction with the service quality, handset, and brand image. We hope that analysis results will have significant implications in terms of both practical and theoretical aspects.

Analysis of Visual Attention in Mobile Messenger Emoticons using Eye-Tracking (시선추적장치를 활용한 모바일 메신저 이모티콘의 시각적 주의집중 분석)

  • For the success of mobile messenger emoticons, it is important to grab the attentions of users or consumers and identify the influence factors that can satisfy empathy and emotional satisfaction. In this study, first, subjective evaluation of the mobile messenger emoticons of the subjects was examined through a preliminary survey, and then Eye-tracking experiments were conducted to identify the influence factors that can attention of the subject's eyes in the emoticons. The study revealed that emoticons such as Ompangi and Onaeui yeosin highlighting their characters mainly focus on characters(face). Secondly, Gyuiyomjueui and Handprinting emoticons focused on Text. Contrary to earlier studies, such results showed that people are presumed to focus on characteristic elements such as size, form, color and location of visually exposed elements rather than primarily having a keen interest in characters.

An Analysis on the Needs for the Mobile Internet Service (휴대인터넷 서비스에 대한 니즈[Needs]분석)

  • In this research, we have developed a model that can explain the potential customer's needs for the potable Internet service, a concept with 'QoS guaranteed lower-price high speed mobile Internet service. Based on the developed model, we have also derived some empirical implications for the business firms interest in the potable Internet market. The developed model is incorporating a survey result, answering of potential customer's attitude for the portable Internet service, from the subscribers to the Internet service, wireless LAN service, and mobile Internet service. As a result, we have found that a very innovative group, such as wireless LAN users and 20's age group using mobile Internet service, could be the most attractive market segment. Moreover, the aspects of the service coverage and the price competitiveness at the service launching stage could be the most critical success factors for the portable Internet service.

  • As the number of mobile telephone users increases, technologies fur increasing quality of services between a mobile terminal and the base station transceiver system become more important than ever. The important criteria of quality of service includes minimum interference of base station, the success rate of network access and portability between different mobile companies. Among many factors, the successful rate of network connection between a mobile terminal and the base station is the most important. In this paper, we introduce an analysis system of mobile terminals using RS-232C communication after considering such environments. This application software simulates the communicational signals between and mobile terminals and the base station and shows the results through the graphs. Using this system, the task about testing communication performance of mobile terminals will be easy since it helps to analyze the status of communication.

  • The data delivery confirmation method of MIL-STD-188-220C, which is a tactical wireless mobile Ad-Hoc communication protocol, is that a source node requires the end-to-end ack from all destination nodes and the data-link ack from 1-hop neighboring destination nodes and relaying nodes, regardless of the hop distance from a source node to destination nodes. This method has the problem to degrade the whole communication network performance because of excessive data traffic due to the duplicate use of end-to-end ack and data-link ack, and the collision among end-to-end acks on the wireless network in the case of confirming a data delivery within an 1-hop distance. In order to solve this problem, this paper has proposed the method to perform the data delivery confirmation with the improvement of communication network performance through the data traffic reduction by achieving the reliable data delivery confirmation requiring the only data-link ack within an 1-hop distance. The effects of the proposed method are analyzed in the two aspects of the data delivery confirmation delay time and the data delivery confirmation success ratio.

  • The growing mobile products market is expected energy efficiency. So product design is more important focusing on reducing power consumption than improving technology of color sense. A Organic light emission diode is in limelight of the best display to satisfy market expectation. A Organic light emission diode is achieved low power consumption, pixel response which was fast for its time, high contrast of brightness and wide color reproduction raio. Therefore there is a fierce competition for the organic light emission diode development between a country and another country over business. The technical value's life is short because of a fierce development competition, and there is little probability that technical success become business success. In this study, the purpose is reduce the time for life test by accelerated current and it can do production possible design by accelerated life model in design phase.

  • Growing smartphone usage in South Korea has also accelerated the pace of development of mobile games, but competition is intensifying as the market grows. As one of the factors for the success of the game in this mobile game market, UI has been presented, suggesting that the design of such mobile game UI should be approached in terms of designing the user's experience, along with its function, aesthetic expression, function-oriented design and information delivery before. In this paper, we propose an effective lobby layout of mobile RPG using experience among UX factors. Through the layout classification of Ernest Adams and Andrew Rollings, we selected 9 mobile RPGs in the 20th place of google play cumulative sales rankings and analyzed the layout of the lobby. As a result, the lobby layout of the game, which led the first market success of the mobile RPG genre, The result was that it became the standard of the boxed game. It can be interpreted that the lobby layout, which is similar to the game used previously by the user, is effective because low entry barriers and learning are unnecessary due to the experience of using the existing RPG. Future studies may produce a common layout of a broad genre if studies are conducted to measure the optimum UX for other genres than RPG.

A Study on the Factors Influencing Customer Satisfaction of Mobile Banking (모바일뱅킹의 고객만족에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the factors of customer satisfaction as the critical success factors of mobile banking. Based on previous exploratory work and a review of the literature of customer satisfaction, nine key factors are identified: perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, perceived ubiquity, perceived safety, perceived tangibles, perceived reliability, perceived responsiveness, perceived assurance, and perceived empathy. A conceptual model is developed and hypotheses are empirically examined using multiple regression analysis. The result of this research are summarized as follows: First, perceived usefulness, perceived easy of use, perceived safety, and perceived empathy have significant influence on customer satisfaction. Second, customer satisfaction has significant influence on reuse intention and word-of-mouth intention.
