In this paper, we present a comparative performance evaluation of the sampling frequency synchronization method that eliminates the initial sampling frequency offset (SFO) to reduce the overall synchronization time in Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) receivers. To satisfy the advanced synchronization performance requirements of DRM receivers, we introduce the conventional DRM synchronization method (Method 1) and another method (Method 2), which does not perform the initial sampling frequency synchronization in the conventional synchronization method (both methods are mentioned later in this paper). To demonstrate the effectiveness of the performance evaluation, analytical expressions for frame detection are derived and simulations are provided. Based on the simulations and numerical analysis, our result shows that Method 2, with a negligible performance loss, is robust to the effects of the initial sampling frequency synchronization even if SFO is present in the DRM signal. In addition, we verify that the inter-cell differential correlation used between reference cells is robust to the effect of the initial SFO.

An efficient encoding algorithm (or encryption algorithm) is essential for mobile devices since their resources such as computation power and battery capacity are very limited. This study is to propose an efficient encoding scheme for protecting mobile music. In the proposed scheme, server distributes each music file in a shuffled form or an encrypted one, then only authorized consumers can play the music after un-shuffling or decrypting it. We show the effectiveness of our proposed scheme by implementing and evaluating the prototype system on WIPI emulator. Experimental results show that our scheme can achieve much better performance than the standard encryption algorithm of OMA DRM.

무선 인터넷의 보급과 맞물려 모바일 컴퓨팅 환경이 구축됨에 따라 PDA와 같은 소형의 모바일 장비에 최적화된 디지털 컨텐츠의 제작 및 배포가 활발해지고 있으며 불법적인 디지털 컨텐츠의 이용 또한 이에 비례하고 있다. 그러나 유선환경에 기반 한 기존의 DRM 시스템은 상대적으로 속도와 표현능력이 떨어지는 모바일 환경에는 적합하지 않으며 현재 연구.개발된 모바일 환경에서의 DRM 시스템은 음악, 문서, 이미지에 국한되어 있어 동영상과 암호화와 같은 높은 연산 능력을 요구하는 부분의 개발과 연구는 초기 단계에 머물러 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에 적합하도록 적은 연산 능력으로도 기존의 DRM 시스템에 준하는 보안 강도를 갖을 수 있도록 동영상의 부분 암호화 방식과 공유키 풀 기반의 인증 방법을 사용하는 DRM 시스템을 설계ㆍ제안한다.

얼마 전, 국가 주요기관에 해커가 침입하는 사건이 발생하였다. 이러한 사고의 경우 기관 혹은 기업의 기밀문서에 해당되는 전자문서들의 유출이 발생할 수 있으며, 이에 따른 금전적 혹은 이미지 손상 등에 대한 피해를 발생시킬 수 있다. 이러한 전자문서 유출에 대한 피해를 줄이기 위해서는 안전하고 다양한 전자문서 규격을 제공하는 전자문서 관리 시스템이 필요하다. 하지만 전자문서의 특성상 이용하는 어플리케이션에서 종속되어 보안기능이 제공되고 있어 통일된 보안정책의 수립이 어려울 실정이다. 본 논문은 안전하고 호환성 있는 전자문서의 이용을 위하여 오픈 소스인 OpenOffice와 DRM 표준중 하나인 OMA의 규격을 기반으로 하는 전자문서 관리에 이용에 사용될 DRM 시스템의 구조를 제안하였다. 더불어 권한관리자를 통하여 문서의 권한을 분배, 이용하는 방식으로 DRM 시스템 구성 요소들 사이의 프로토콜을 제안하고 설계 구현하였다.

Due to the rapid popularization of mobile multimedia devices and the Internet as well as the realization of high-speed data transmission and large-volume data recording media, high quality content distribution and ubiquitous information services are making progress and a new type of information distribution and network sharing service has gradually emerged into the market. It is capable of utilizing terabyte sized home servers also in private homes. Under these circumstances, in distribution of content over shared networks, it is crucial to establish DRM (Digital Rights Management) technologies to protect the content from illegal copying and usage. A truly successful DRM system must be built on open worldwide specifications and provide maximum interoperability and user acceptance. An open interoperability of DRM is able to construct highly expandable PKI based DRM, targeting usage between systems, considering the expansion of recent content distribution services and clients This document gives protocol specifications for the exchange of rights information between the DRM module, description of specifications for rights information and encrypted content formats.

본 논문은 재난 정보를 다양한 모바일방송 규격에 따라 인코딩 및 송출, 수신 및 디코딩하는 멀티모드 방송용 EWS 송 수신 시스템의 설계 및 구현 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 전 세계 모바일 방송 표준 중 T-DMB, DVB-H, ISDB-T와 디지털 라디오 규격인 DRM을 지원하며, 각각의 방송 규격에 따라 재난 정보를 인코딩하는 송출부와 각 표준에 따른 RF 방송 신호를 수신 및 디코딩하는 수신부 형태로 구성된다. 제안한 멀티모드 방송용 EWS 송신시스템은 단일 시스템상에서 각각의 방송규격으로 EWS 재난 데이터 생성하고 상용 방송 송출 장비규격에 만족하는 채널 인터페이스를 통해 재난정보가 송출 가능하며 수신 시스템에서는 단일 H/W에서 해당 모드의 재난 정보를 수신, 디코딩하여 단말기 화면에 표출한다. 제안된 시스템은 실시간으로 각 모드별 상용 방송장비에서 송출되는 RF 신호를 수신하여 문자기반의 재난 정보를 표출하는 정합 검증 과정을 통해 정상동작 결과를 제시한다.

This study aims at examining each firm's decision-makings of complex product and system (hereafter CoPS) innovation strategy, so that it tries to reveal the nature and role of CoPS innovations strategy. And it designed a comparative case study along with qualitative methods, by having two mobile operators' digital rights management (hereafter DRM) innovation in South Korea's digital music service industry. Through literature review, this study formulated three research propositions: (i) Each firm's decision-makings of CoPS innovations strategy are analytical negotiation process among economic actors in an industry; (ii) Each firm's market power originated from its market share from the installed base through network effect and switching cost influence decision-makings of CoPS innovation strategies; (iii) Each firm's decision-makings of different CoPS innovation strategies are related to their intension of achieving better market power, consequently dominant design. Through empirical examination of two mobile operators' decision-makings of DRM innovation strategy, this study empirically verified three research propositions.

통신망 기술의 발달로 모바일 디지털 컨텐츠 분야에서도 다양한 방법으로 컨텐츠를 보호하려는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 불법사용방지 및 저작권 보호를 위해 강력한 사용자 인증을 위한 국제 표준 알고리듬 AES를 이용하여 컨텐츠를 암호화하고, 휴대폰 번호, 단말기 번호 등을 이용하여 컨텐츠 사용에 따른 권한을 이중화하여 관리한다. 또한 3차에 걸친 사용자 인증 과정을 통해 디지털 컨텐츠의 배포가 안전하게 이루어지는 시스템을 구축한다.
