Opportunities for the Use of Blockchain Technology in the Tourism Industry

  • It is relevant and timely for the existence and prosperity of today's tourism to build up a stock of new abilities and a set of innovations. At present, the tourism industry is experiencing a new stage in its digital transformation. The newest technologies, which are now spreading en masse and one of which is rightfully considered to be blockchain technology, enable tourists to receive tourist services directly from the producers, which not only gives the consumer the opportunity to enjoy higher quality and inexpensive products but also increases the responsibility of the producer. The article analyzes research literature on the possibility of using blockchain technology in the tourism industry. Based on an expert survey, the main problems, prospects, and advantages of the implementation of blockchain technology in the tourism industry are identified. The paper proposes and analyzes an option for the use of blockchain technology on the basis of a blockchain project with a mobile app for users and a dedicated website and public API for travel service providers.

  • As the fourth industrial revolution began to take off in earnest, the quality and quantity of data shared among devices began to increase exponentially over the network. In addition, the category of devices where people are exposed to such data has become diversified into desktops, mobile phones, smart phones, smart pads, and smart watches. As a result, the medium that contacts the data has begun to change, and the place where modern society has the most data is smart device. However, smart devices still leave much to be desired in terms of network speed and hardware specifications to handle large amounts of data at one time. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the use of Service Worker, IndexedDB, and LocalStroage, which can retrieve a large amount of web contents more efficiently from mobile devices, and suggest ways to improve it.

  • This study critically analyzed the user experience (UX) of mobile applications, focusing on the advertising platforms of mobile applications for culture and arts content. This study aims to examine the direction for growth of the related mobile applications and propose alternative approaches to improve usability. In this study, a mobile app named 'Moviepre' was selected, and a heuristic evaluation was performed for in-depth exploration. For the selected case, the UX Honeycomb model was reconstructed to analyze useful, usable, desirable, findable, accessible, and credible elements of the case. First, since the users' preference for the price factor did not show a significant correlation with the usefulness of the content and the interface, it is necessary to make sure that the mobile application has unique values to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Second, by adopting customer path stages for analysis, the result indicated that users continuously interact with the service from the first moment they are aware of the mobile application. Third, if the user feels uncomfortable, it is likely that these factors hinder the establishment of a long-term relationship between the users and the mobile application. Finally, brand identity should be clearly established, and brand image strategy needs to be developed to satisfy users' expectations that high-quality culture and arts content will be available through the mobile application.

  • The restricted network or the unbalanced distribution of spectrum is causing the problems of lack of spectrum resources and deterioration of the service quality. In addition, the existing centralized radio sharing method has not been a fundamental solution for radio sharing and is inefficient in terms of cost, convenience, and security. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-based spectrum sharing as a low-cost, trustworthy, high-efficiency platform that can distribute and share spectrum resources, and propose policies to realize this. In the spectrum sharing platform, spectrum information about Wi-Fi AP and LTE mobile hotspot is registered in the blockchain, and spectrum sharers and users can conclude peer-to-peer spectrum sharing contract quickly and efficiently through smart contract. The pay for the shared spectrum resources and reward for spectrum quality management open platform ecosystem to activate the circulation-sharing and it can provide a convenient and efficient public wireless infrastructure.

  • This research aims to analyze the importance-performance among multiplex cinema selection attributes. Therefore, we collected data for visitors who visited the multiplex cinema and want to watch movies. Of the various multiplex cinema selection attributes, four factors were deduced that includes: major services, human services, physical environment, auxiliary services using exploratory factor analysis. In the quadrant I, the area of 'Concentrate Here' was 'diversity of screening time', 'diversity of movie genre', 'convenience of mobile app use', 'size and convenience of parking facility'. In the quadrant II, 'Keep up the Good Work' area was 'convenience of website booking', 'discounts through card partnerships', 'employee friendliness', 'accurate employee information delivery', 'comfortable seating', 'screen size', 'cinematic sound quality', and 'convenience of traffic' etc. The quadrant III, 'Low Priority' appeared to be 'membership system', 'tidiness of staff attire', 'resting space for waiting time', 'accessibility to the neighboring area', 'diversity of the snack corner', and 'overall cleanliness' etc. The quadrant IV, 'Possible Overkill' was 'appropriateness of the auditorium temperature' and 'service proficiency'.
