In ubiquitous GIS system, the spatial information could be updated and utilied by mobile terminals. Spatial information stored in mobile terminals should be able to synchronize to the server. However, in mobile environment, there are some limitations in synchronization service due to the limited bandwidth. The ActMAP system, that was developed to consider of mobile environment, has suggested a partial update protocal for synchronization in order to solve the narrow bandwidth problem. But it is still has a problem that it does not consider two-way synchronization between a server and a mobile terminal. This paper suggests a two-way synchronization protocol between a server and mobile terminals. It, therefore, is inclined to supporting updated and utilization of spatial information using mobile terminals.

In Korea mobile phone subscribers exceeded 1 million people in 1995, and ten million people in 1998. Prevalence of the mobile phone increased dramatically over 110% compared to the population. And all family members including children and students use one or two mobile terminal. Mobile phone is obviously necessary good more than washer, vacuum cleaner, passenger car. Our daily life with mobile communication are conveniently positioned, but communication related costs including the price of the device has become a big burden on the household. But the government does not seem to do the right role at the right time to prevent the failure of the market to further maximize consumer welfare and social welfare through fair competition. This principal-agent problems exist especially in perspective of joint use of the mobile communication network, number portability, separation of phone distribution and phone service and network neutrality among in mobile communication policies since the early 1990s up to now.

In this paper, a mobile office support. system which consists of mobile devices and servers is proposed. An efficient mobile office support system is required to study since the existing mobile office support systems may face the serious problems such as an absence of interoperability, difficulties of data synchronization and device management in the near future, especially when a company has a large number of outdoor service employees. In this paper, a mobile office support system requirements for a company with a large number of outdoor service employees is proposed. And then, the methods to satisfy the requirements using a remote data synchronization and a remote device management technologies are proposed. The mobile office support system proposed in this paper synchronizes remotely a large number of various mobile devices of employees with centralized servers located in the company. In addition, it manages the mobile devices remotely for the employees. This paper proposes a mobile office support system based on OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DS(Data Synchronization) and DM(Device Management) protocols. As OMA DS and DM protocols are de facto international standards, the interoperability between the mobile office support systems can be guaranteed.

For map services in the mobile environment, it should be considered that resource restriction of the mobile device. Thus, if a map database dedicated to mobile services may not be developed, the spatial data extracted from general map databases should be simplified before transmitting. This paper suggests the mechanism to simplify and modify the spatial data, which are changed to be able to displayed on the mobile devices. This mechanism is based on the map generalization operations and is refined to adapt on mobile phone environment.

An ubiquitous environment has been developed in order to allow users to use information more easily. These environments are based on advanced development of mobile ubiquitous hardwares. Currently, a various user interfaces are developed for mobile ubiquitous devices using the graphic or voice. In this paper, propose a specialized graphical user interface which is based on analysis of a user profile. This user interface can provides suitable interface for individual users using XML information on the small screen of mobile ubiquitous devices.

This paper preposes a various policies and experiment results to select streams in a presentation to be transcoded for mobileterminals after distinguishing the characteristics of streams in the presentation. This applies to the presentation composed of various data streams on a PC server. The rationale of the research is that the stream selection polices for transcoding enhances the speed of presentation in mobile terminals considerably faster than in the case when every stream has to be transcoded. Thus, the thesis suggests a stream selection polices for transcoding based on EPOB (End Point of Over Bandwidth) and aims to lower the requiring bandwidth of the presentation to the network bandwidth as well as to minimize early delay time for the presentation to be played in mobile terminals.

Contents of this paper strengthen security of data by applying encryption algorithm to use cellular phone and settlement by Mobile that is used synchronization method and quotes and prevent damage of bar-code peculation etc.. If divide system step by step to execute this, step that create Mobile bar-code and transmits by individual terminal after encryption, step displaying to individual Mobile terminal, step that above individual Mobile terminal and main server form assimilation and these are consisted of step that quote confirming above information confirmation and motive availability. For the actual example, confirm effectiveness of certification system through simulation.

Data synchronization between data stored in mobile communication terminals and a central server is one of essential tasks for efficient mobile communication environments. Since, however, manufacturers of mobile terminals have their proprietary data synchronization mechanisms, data interoperability can hardly be achieved. Therefore, SyncML data synchronization mechanism in mobile communication environments was proposed as an open standard by OMA(Open Mobile Alliance). In this paper, a SyncML-based data synchronization gateway is designed and implemented which can process ActiveSync data also. In other words, by constructing a combined data synchronization gateway which can transform ActiveSync data into SyncML data, data interoperability between mobile terminals which use two different data synchronization mechanisms can be achieved, In addition, mobile communication experiments between ActiveSync-based terminals and a SyncML-based central server show that the data synchronization gateway constructed in this paper, works correctly.
