  • A supplementary reinforced concrete wall can be used to improve the seismic behavior of a buckling restrained braced frame as a mixed system. In such a novel system, the total lateral force is resisted by the combination of the RC wall system and the BRBF. There is not enough research on the response modification factor of such a mixed system. This paper investigates the response modification factor, and such relevant factors as ductility reduction factor and over strength factor for a system consisting of reinforced concrete wall and buckling restrained braced frame. To this purpose, nonlinear incremental dynamic analysis as well as static push over analysis are used for 6- to 14-story sample structures. The results show that for mixed considered systems, the mean value of response modification factor varies approximately from 7 to 9.

  • As impermeable layer continues to increase with the urbanization process, direct input of nonpoint source pollutants into water bodies via stormwater has caused serious effects on the aquatic ecosystem. Potential applications of rain gardens are increasing not only as best management practices (BMP) for reducing the level of nonpoint source pollutants but also as an ecological engineering alternative for low impact development (LID). In this study, remediation performance of various planting types, such as a mixed planting system with shrubs and herbaceous plants, was assessed quantitatively to effectively manage stormwater and increase landscape applicability. The mixed planting system with Rhododendron lateritium and Zoysia japonica showed the highest removal performance of $76.9{\pm}7.6%$ and $58.4{\pm}5.0%$ for total nitrogen and $89.9{\pm}7.9%$ and $82.4{\pm}5.2%$ for total phosphorus at rainfall intensities of 2.5 mm/h and 5.0 mm/h, respectively. The mixed planting system also showed the highest removal performance for heavy metals. The results suggest that a rain garden with the mixed planting system has high potential applicability as a natural reduction system for nonpoint source pollutants in order to manage stormwater with low concentrations of pollutants and will increase water recycling in urban areas.

  • The purpose of the study is to be the pedestrian integrated circulation system of malling route and the third route in Mixed-use Building based on User Behavior. The study has performed by the following approaches: Initially, literature reviews are performed related to a pedestrian route by user in mixed-use building. Second, general and stroller users moving route are analyzed based on the outcome of the case study. Finally, the study develops the efficient pedestrian integrated circulation system of malling route and the third route in Mixed-use Building. According to the study, the following conclusions were made: First, An integrated plan for escalators and EVs, which are accessible to both users and strollers, is needed. Second, The entrance automatic door and circulation elements should be connected for continuous move by the stroller users. Finally, The circulation system of complex buildings should be a simple spatial structure and route plan that users can easily recognize.

  • In this paper, we study the behavior and sensitivity analysis of the solution set for a system of parametric generalized nonlinear mixed quasi-variational inclusions in Banach spaces. By using some new and innovative technique, existence theorem for the system of parametric generalized nonlinear mixed quasi-variational inclusions in $L_p(p\ge2$ spaces is established. Our results improve the known result of Agarwal et al.[1].

  • In this paper, we consider a generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ output feedback problem. It is finding an internally stabilizing controller that minimizes a mixed $H_{2}$/ $H_{performance}$ measure. We show that a generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ system with two exogenous inputs and two controlled signals is transformed into auxiliary system with two exogenous inputs and one controlled signal. The two systems have equivalent performance. Therefore, a complete solution of generalized mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ output feedback problem is achieved by existing results of mixed H_2/H_{\infty}$ control theory.

  • Ready-mixed shotcrete mixed with high quality materials and can be controled shotcrete quality is producted in plants and transported to construction fields, so do not need a field batch plant. In this study, the field construction system that can be applied Ready-mixed Shotcrete to construction fields was proposed, and the all-in-one silo that was the key component of the field construction system was design. It was performed to evaluate the constructability that the field construction process analysis in case of applying a field batch plant and the all-in-one silo, the cost analysis of the material production and transport in a road tunnel was also performed to evaluate the economic feasibility of Ready-mixed shotcret.

  • In this paper, we consider a split least-squares characteristic mixed element method for Sobolev equations with a convection term. First, to manipulate both convection term and time derivative term efficiently, we apply a characteristic mixed element method to get the system of equations in the primal unknown and the flux unknown and then get a least-squares minimization problem and a least-squares characteristic mixed element scheme. Finally, we obtain a split least-squares characteristic mixed element scheme for the given problem whose system is uncoupled in the unknowns. We prove the optimal order in $L^2$ and $H^1$ normed spaces for the primal unknown and the suboptimal order in $L^2$ normed space for the flux unknown.

Second, we define a least-squares minimization problem and a least-squares characteristic mixed element scheme. Finally, we obtain a split least-squares characteristic mixed element scheme for the given problem whose system is uncoupled in the unknowns. We establish the convergence results for the primal unknown and the flux unknown with the second order in a time increment.

  • The demands for mobile communication service are growing rapidly. In heavily populated areas, cell split is unavoidable to increase the capacity of the cellular system. Cell splitting makes a cellular system to have mixed cell sizes. For cell planning, it is necessary to analyze the reverse link capacity of a CDMA cellular system with mixed cell sizes. In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the reverse link capacity of a CDMA cellular system with mixed cell sizes. When a macro cell is split into three micro cells, as an example, we calculate the reverse link capacities for the three micro cells and the neighboring macro cells. The results show that as the radius of a micro cell decreases, the reverse link capacity of the micro cell increases, while those of the neighboring macro cells decrease.

  • In this paper, BER performance of DS/CDMA-BPSK system is analyzed in mixed lading channel that is consist of Rayleigh fadins Rician fading, and shadowed Rician fading. From the results, we know that proposed mixed fading model is very suitable to describe the different channel situations. and, the occupancy probability and the shadowing depth are very dependent to the system performance. Finally, we know that the Reed-Solomon coded DS/ CDMA-BPSK system is very robust to simultaneous user interference and mixed lading channel.
