A Study on the Appropriate Measurement of Space in Mixed-Use of School Facilities (학교시설 복합화 대상시설별 적정규모에 관한 연구)

  • In order to cope with the demands of the rapidly changing society, advanced countries enrolled in OECD have been establishing corresponding directions as integrating their fields in economy, society, and education as one system. To be a part of the international changes, Korea has presented "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities." "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" enables schools to expand necessary facilities, which were not secured due to insufficient budget, through community funding. Communities could not secure enough convenient facilities because they did not have enough sites for the facilities; however, school sites have made the communities possible to have facilities. As a result, the demand for "Mixed-Use of schools and community facilities" has increased. Therefore, this study redefines the concept of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities in the perspective of the main users, researches the current state of the Mixed-Use of School Facilities through case studies in Korea, and intends to research preferences of the synthesis through surveys. In addition, the study proposes the proper size and the standard of the facilities that are possible to synthesize them with schools. In the future, in running this Mixed-Use of School Facilities business, the data from this study can be utilized.

  • In this paper we study the theory of knotoids and braidoids and the theory of pseudo knotoids and pseudo braidoids on the torus T. In particular, we introduce the notion of mixed knotoids in S2, that generalizes the notion of mixed links in S3, and we present an isotopy theorem for mixed knotoids. We then generalize the Kauffman bracket polynomial, <; >, for mixed knotoids and we present a state sum formula for <; >. We also introduce the notion of mixed pseudo knotoids, that is, multi-knotoids on two components with some missing crossing information. More precisely, we present an isotopy theorem for mixed pseudo knotoids and we extend the Kauffman bracket polynomial for pseudo mixed knotoids. Finally, we introduce the theories of mixed braidoids and mixed pseudo braidoids as counterpart theories of mixed knotoids and mixed pseudo knotoids, respectively. With the use of the L-moves, that we also introduce here for mixed braidoid equivalence, we formulate and prove the analogue of the Alexander and the Markov theorems for mixed knotoids. We also formulate and prove the analogue of the Alexander theorem for mixed pseudo knotoids.

A Comparison of Influence Diagnostics in Linear Mixed Models

  • Standard estimation methods for linear mixed models are sensitive to influential observations. However, tools and concepts for linear mixed model diagnostics are rudimentary until now and research is heavily demanded in linear mixed models. In this paper, we consider two diagnostics to evaluate the effects of individual observations in the estimation of fixed effects for linear mixed models. Those are Cook's distance and COVRATIO. Results of our limited simulation study suggest that the Cook's distance is not good statistical quantity in linear mixed models. Also calibration point for COVRATIO seems to be quite conservative.

Measuring and Describing Seoul's Mixed-Use Phenomenon (서울시 용도복합 현상의 측정 및 기술에 관한 연구)

  • The mixed-use concept definition, this study reveals, is that the mixing three or more major types of urban uses implements for economical, social and environmental values in our urban space. With this definition the study explores Seoul's mixed-use phenomenon. The quantification method, the study uses, is the relative entropy which calculate the balance of each urban use in a certain area. The relative entropy method, also known as the LUM(land-use mix score), uses three urban-use categories which is derived from the mixed-use concept definition. Hundreds of building-use types in the building regulations are categorized and calculate the LUM of Seoul's legal-status neighborhoods. The result interpreted as the criteria of Seoul's mixed-use phenomenon and categorize mixed land-use status in a certain value: 'non mixed-use' category has a value 0.631 and below, 'unbalanced mixed-use' category has a value between 0.631 and 0.884, 'balanced mixed-use' category has a value between 0.884 and 0.991 and 'complete mixed-use' category has a value 0.991 and over.

  • This study, as one of the specific suggestions to satisfy the social needs of life long education and to overcome the limitations of the supply of regional facilities, presents plans for the possibility of the mixed-use of educational facilities and regional facilities as the ultimate objective. By focusing on the space composition of the mixed-use facility to execute the roles of the educational establishment actively and efficiently, the purpose is to present the mixed-use methodology in architectural plan on which functions to combine and by how much, when the mixed-use plan of educational facilities. The investigation objects was the 27 elementary schools in Seoul which have undergone mixed-use of educational facilities work as at August, 2007. And each educational facility was classified mixed-use functions and analyzed for the composition form of functions and the characteristics by functions. And for mixed-use facility, form types were derived from the relationship with the school buildings through the analysis on characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of each types were presented by factor-by-factor plan directions of mixed-use facility.

  • This study proposed the optimal mixing time for pre-mixed cement and post mixed cement using the statistical analysis method of box plots. Pre-mixed cement can prevent material seegregation, strength loss, and quality variation if mixed for at least 60 seconds, and the data median is shown to be within the box range. Post-mixed cement should be mixed for at least 180 seconds to prevent material segregation, strength loss, and quality variation, and compressive strength tends to increase with longer vibrating times. Therefore, it is suggested that using pre-mixed cement can shorten the vibrating time and increase the productivity of the concrete.

  • The purpose of this study is to grasp a concept for mixed-use tendency of educational facilities, its propellant circumstance in the nation and japan, to analyze a feature of a function, a flow planing of user and the complex form which appear from an instance of the mixed-use tendentious educational facilities and is to suggest a basic matter on the architectural planning for mixed-use tendency of the regional facilities and educational facilities. The Influence of Price Sensitivity, Bundle Discount Type and Price Level of Male Cosmetics on Quality Perception (가격민감도와 번들할인 유형, 남성화장품의 가격수준이 품질지각에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was intended to investigate the influences that consumer's price sensitivity, bundle discount type, and price level of the male cosmetics have on consumer attitude. The design of this research was comprised of $2{\times}2{\times}2$ mixed design studies. The first element was high price sensitivity vs. low sensitivity, the second element was the bundle discount type (mixed leader vs. mixed-joint), and the third element was the price level of male cosmetics (high-price brand vs. low-price brand). The results of this study showed that price sensitivity, bundle discount type and price level of male cosmetic had a statistically significant interaction effect on the consumer's quality perception. The quality perception of low-cost brands for high price sensitivity/mixed-joint bundle group was low. The quality perception of low-cost brands for mixed-leader bundled groups did not change significantly even when the price sensitivity became higher. However, it can be seen as the same result that the overall value is higher when suggested the price information in Mixed-leader bundle than Mixed-joint bundle. In particular, this study suggests that price information should be presented in mixed-leader bundles for high price sensitivity and low cast brands.

  • In theory, mixed methods that incorporate both quantitative and qualitative approaches can maximize strengths of each method while minimize the short comings of each. Mixed methods research is a feature of educational research nowadays, and the number of studies applied mixed methods research has been gradually increasing. This study investigates how mixed methods research was applied in the field of mathematic education, especially focusing on how qualitative and quantitative methods are combined to best address their research questions. With this in mind, this study carefully selects and analyzes 4 research articles that used mixed methods and were published by Journal of Elementary Mathematics Education in Korea in 2015. This study provides detailed result of qualitative analysis on mixed methods research while other a few previous analysis on mixed methods research were tend to focusing on quantitative analysis, producing numeric quantitative information. The result of this study provides practical and in-depth analysis on how to improve validity and possibility of mixed methods research, addressing alternative ways to combine two different research methods and key elements to take into account.

A Study on the Change of Volume and Temperature in Aqueous Binary Solvent with Ethanol (물과 에탄을 이성분 혼합용매 계에서 부피 및 온도 변화에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is to study on the change of volume and temperature of the solution which mixed water with ethanol. And its main purpose is to examine closely how the volume changes, and to find the method to maximize the change of the volume. The summaries for results of the study are; First, we were known that water and ethanol are homogeneously mixed. But two solvents does not mix homogeneously by different specific gravity at early stages. Second, we could see that the volume changed large at homogeneous mixed water with ethanol by stirrer, the change of volume is the largest value when water mixed with ethanol in the ratio of one to one. Third, when water mixed with ethanol in the ratio of one to one, the change of temperature is very large by activated hydrogen bond. We conclude that it is the best result when ratio of water and ethanol is one to one and the solution is well mixed.
