페녹시계 제초제 MCPP [2-(2-Methyl-4-Chlorophenoxy) Propionic Acid]의 미생물학적 분해 (Microbiological Degradation of the Phenoxy Herbicide MCPP [2-(2-Methyl-4-Chlorophenoxy) Propionic Acid])

  • 토양세균의 혼합배양에 의한 MCPP [2-(2-Methyl-4-Chlorophenoxy) Propionic Acid]의 미생물학적 분해를 조사하였다. 혼합배양은 Pseudomonas 종, Flavobacterium 종, 그리고 Achromobacter종을 포함하였다. 세균들은 유일한 탄소 및 에너지원으로서 MCPP를 이용하였으나, 부분적인 분해만을 부여주었다. MCPP의 분해는 2-methyl-4-chlorophenol의 형성에 의하여 진행되었으며, 이는 HPLC 에 의하여 발견되었고, GC-MS에 의하여 확인되었다. 이 중간대사물질은 일시적으로 생성되었으며, reverse phase HPLC와 Uv absorbance에 의하여 다른 대사산물의 존재는 관찰되지 않았다.

혼합용매에 의한 Polycarbonate의 결정화 (Solvent Induced Crystallization of Polycarbonate in Mixed Solvent)

  • 용매와 비용매의 다양한 비율에 따라서 bisphenol A polycarbonate(PC)의 무정형에서 결정성의 상변화를 확인하였다. 용매로 chloroform을, 비용매로 isopropanol을 사용하였다. 결정화된 PC는 광학현미경과 SEM, XRD, DSC를 이용하여 조사하였고, DSC와 XRD의 측정값은 PC의 결정화도를 판단하는데 이용하였다. 용해도 상수는 PC의 결정화도를 조절하는데 중요한 인자로 PC 결정화도 차이는 혼합용매의 용해도 상수 차이로 설명하였다. 용매와 비용매 비율이 75/25 wt%의 PC 용액에서 고결정화도를 가진 PC powder로 얻을 수 있었다. 이런 결과는 혼합용매의 용해도 상수(9.85)가 PC의 용해도 상수(9.9)와 유사하였기 때문이라고 판단된다.

Synthesis of $LiMn_2O_4$ Cathode Materials by Emulsion Method and Its Electrochemical Properties

  • Synthesis of the spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ by emulsion method was investigated. $LiOH.H_2O \;and \;Mn(NO_3)_2.6H_2O$ were used as starting materials to prepare mixed aqueous solution (0.5 mol/$\ell$ for the $LiMn_2O_4$). Kerosene, paraffin oil and span 80 were used for organic phase. The aqueous solutioin and organic phase were mixed in the ratio of 2:1 and emulsified at the speed of 4000 rpm for 5 min. The prepared emulsions were dropped into the petroleum heated at $170^{\circ}C$ to evaporate water in the silicon oil bath, dried at $120^{\circ}C$ in the oven the remove petroleum and calcined at temperature ranges from 600 to $900^{\circ}C$ for 48 hrs. The characteristics of powders were investigated by XRD, SEM, BET and electrochemical properties of synthesized cathode materials were measured with Galvanostatic system. $Li_{1.05}Mn_2O_4$ calcined at $800^{\circ}C$ for 48 hrs showed initial discharge capacity of 125.9mAH/g.

치과용 지르코니아 도재의 Li2O 첨가에 따른 열팽창계수 변화 (A Change of Thermal Expansion Coefficient according to Li2O-added Porcelain for Dental Zirconia)

  • Zirconia($ZrO_2$) has attracted much attention in science and technology because of its high refractive index, high melting temperature, hardness, low thermal conductivity and corrosion barrier properties. And it is widely used as the dental restoration material because of its esthetic appearance. In this research, we analyzed the particle size and composition of the imported dental porcelain for zirconia. And the glass frit was produced. To decrease the glass transition temperature and softening temperature of the glass frit, $Li_2O$ was added into it and the effect of $Li_2O$ on the firing temperature was researched. Then the glass which contains leucite crystal with a high coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) was manufactured and it was mixed with the glass frit to control the CTE. The phase composition were analyzed using the X-ray diffraction. The morphologies of the samples were observed by the scanning electron microscope. The 4wt% $Li_2O$-added glass frit has the optimal glass transition temperature and softening temperature. And 6 wt% leucite crystal was mixed with the glass frit to control the CTE. From the experimental results of crystallization, the crystal phase was found only leucite crystal.

  • Solid solutions $Sr_2$($Ta_{1-x}$$Nb_{x}$)$_2$$O_{7}$ (x = 0.0 - 1.0) composed of strontium-tantalate (low Curie temperature) and strontium-niobate (high Curie temperature) were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method and the molten salt synthesis method (flux method). Phase relation, sintering temperature, grain-orientation and dielectric properties were investigated for sintered ceramic samples with different compositions. Both Curie temperature and dielectric constant at Curie temperature were increased, and sintering behavior and the degree of grain-orientation were improved with the increase of Nb content. Single phase $Sr_2$$Nb_2$$O_{7}$ powder was synthesized by using flux method at lower temperatures, and sintering temperature was also reduced by using flux method derived powder than using mixed-oxide derived powder. Sintering characteristics and dielectric properties of specimens prepared by flux method were better than those derived through the conventional method.

Spontaneous Vesicle Formation in Aqueous Mixtures of Cationic Gemini Surfactant and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate

  • Molecular aggregates of surfactant molecules consisting of one or more bilayers arranged in a hollow, closed, usually spherical geometry are termed “esicles”or “iposomes” In recent years it has been found that in certain systems the vesicular structure forms spontaneously and is long lived, and it has been suggested that these structures may in fact constitute the equilibrium state in these cases (as is true of micelles) This paper deals with the mixed CMC, vesicles, phase behavior, phase transition, geometrical structure, their formation and characterization in the aqueous solutions of mixed cationic/anionic surfactants systems. TEM micrographs revealed that the vesicles were of spherical shape and that their size was of around 180 nm. The zeta potentials are positive at CGS1-rich regions and negative at SLES-rich regions. In the region where SLES/CGS1 (6/4), the zeta potentials are very small, implying that the vesicles at this surfactant ratio may be less stable. At other surfactant ratios, the vesicles are thought to be stable, supported by large absolute values of zeta potentials and little change in UV absorbance for several months.

Characteristics of Lanthanum Silicates Electrolyte for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

  • La9.33(Si5V1)O26 ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method for solid oxide electrolytes. La9.33(Si5V1)O26 specimens showed the hexagonal, space group P63 or P63/m, and the unit cell volume increased when the sintering temperature increased. The specimen sintered at 1,400℃ showed the X-ray patterns of the homogeneous apatite single phase without the second phase, such as La2SiO5 and SiO2. The specimen sintered at 1,400℃ showed the maximum sintered density of 4.93 g/cm3. When the sintering temperature increased, the electrical conductivities increased, the activation energy decreased and the values were 7.83×10−4 S/cm, 1.61 eV at 600℃, respectively.

Unique local deformations of the superelastic SMA rods during stress-relaxation tests

  • This paper studies mechanical behavior of the superelastic shape memory alloy (SMA) rods in terms of local deformations and time via tensile loading-unloading cycles for both ends fixed end constraints. Besides the unique stress induced martensitic transformation (SIMT), SMA's time dependent behavior when it is in mixed-phase condition upon loading and unloading, also need careful attention with a view of investigating the local deformation of the structural elements made of the same material. With this perspective, the so-called stress-relaxation tests have been performed to demonstrate and investigate the local strains-total strains relationships with time, particularly, during the forward SIMT. Some remarkable phenomena have been observed pertaining to SIMT, which are absent in traditional materials and those unique phenomena have been explained qualitatively. For example, at the stopped loading conditions the two ends (fixed end and moving end of the tensile testing machine) were in fixed positions. So that there was no axial overall deformation of the specimen but some notable increase in the axial local deformation was shown by the extensometer placed at the middle of the SMA specimen. It should be noted that this peculiar behavior termed as 'inertia driven SIMT' occurs only when the loading was stopped at mixed phase condition. Besides this relaxation test for the SMA specimens, the same is performed for the mild steel (MS) specimens under similar test conditions. The MS specimens, however, show no unusual increase of local strains during the stress relaxation tests.

볼 밀링에 의한 Al-Ti 계 금속간화합물 생성 거동 (Formation Behaviour Al-Ti Intermetallic Compounds by Ball milling methods)

  • Three mixtures of elemental powders of Al-25at.%Ti, 48at.%Ti and 70at.%Ti were offered to ball milling process for the formation of intermetallic compounds of $Al_3Ti$, AlTi and $Ti_3Al$. Ballmilling or attrition process were carried out at the condition of rotaing speed of 110 or 350 rpm at $10^{-3}$ torr vacuum or argon atmospheres. $Al_3Ti$phases were fully obtained by heat treatment for 1 hors at $600^{\circ}C$ with Al-25at.%Ti composition mixtures milled by 100 hours. The amorphous phase was completely formed at the composition of Al-48at.%Ti mixed powders by milling 100hours at the 50 to 1 weight ratio of ball to powder, and AlTi compounds were obtained by heat treament. In the case of Al-70at%Ti mixed powders milled for 100 hours, $Ti_3Al$ and $Al_3Ti$intermetallic compounds were formed by heat treatment for 1 hour at $600^{\circ}C$. By attrition milling of 350rpm for 10 hours, $Ti_3Al$ phase was formed completley after heat treatment for 1 hour at $600^{\circ}C$.

미연탄소 함유 석탄회 복합체의 소결 특성 (Sintering characteristics of the mixed body of clay and flyash containing unburnt carbon)

  • 석탄회를 환경친화적 건설재로 재활용하기 위한 기초연구로서 미연탄소를 함유한 석탄회와 점토의 복합체에 대해 승온패턴에 따른 소결시험을 실시하여 석탄회의 재활용 가능성을 검토하였다. 소결을 위한 승온조작에서 $20^{\circ}C$/min 이상의 승온속도로 가열함에 따라 2.54 cm 크기의 조골재에서 불균질상이 관찰되었고, 최종 소결온도 $1200^{\circ}C$에서는 가스 팽창에 의한 부풀음(bulging), 내부 기공 및 균열이 발생하였다. 따라서 이에 따른 내부 불균질상을 제거할 수 있는 승온패턴을 제안하여 불균질상을 제거하였다. 최종적으로 얻어진 골재의 압축강도는 최소 요구치인 200kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$에 2.5배가 넘는 670~870kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$이었다.
