  • In recent decades, the research field of entrepreneurship phenomenon has significantly increased in both quantity and sophistication. In Vietnam, paradoxically, while creating a new business venture has become a tendency, the interest in studying entrepreneurs seems not to be thoroughly investigated. This research aims to evaluate the factors that affect the entrepreneurial intention of information technology (IT) students in Vietnam. The authors make use of mixed methods including both quantitative research method and qualitative research method. The qualitative research method is employed to identify meanings, confirmations, adjustments, and compliments for concept-measurement variables in the conceptual model. Quantitative research is conducted from a sample of 424 IT senior students across many universities in Vietnam. Questionnaires have been sent to students to evaluate the measurement scale and appropriateness of the research model. Results from multiple regression highlighted five independent variables affecting the dependent variable, the entrepreneurial intention, in a descending order as following: entrepreneurial educational environment, personal characteristics, perception of feasibility, entrepreneurial supports, and financial accessibility. In addition, this research has proved that the variable attitudes towards entrepreneurship partially mediated among the interrelationship of the aforementioned variables. From this research, the authors make some recommendations to enhance entrepreneurial intentions of IT students in Vietnam.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends of 114 papers about mathematical creativity published in domestic journals from 1997 to 2011 with regard to the years, objects, subjects, and methods of such research. The research of mathematical creativity education has been studied since 2000. The frequent objects in the research were non-human, middle and high school students, elementary students, gifted students, teachers (in-service and pre-service), and kindergarteners in order. The research on the teaching methods of mathematical creativity, the general study of mathematical creativity, or the measurement and the evaluation of mathematical creativity was active, whereas that of dealing with curricula and textbooks was rare. The qualitative research method was more frequently used than the quantitative research one. The mixed research method was hardly used. On the basis of these results, this paper shows how mathematical creativity was studied until now and gives some implications for the future research direction in mathematical creativity.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of natural incense on the preservation of paper- and textile-based remains and the kinds and applications of natural anti-insect incense by reviewing relevant literatures of the ancient times. There are few ancient literatures of incense published in Korea. The researcher deducted how incense was used in this nation through reviewing verses contained in ancient literatures and medical books. In contrast, the kinds and applications of anti-insect incense used in China, where incense culture prospered, were investigated here through reviewing technical books about incense published during the Song(宋) and Ming(明) periods, $\ll$Incense record(香譜)$\gg$, $\ll$Chen's Incense record(陳氏香譜)$\gg$ and $\ll$Incense record(香乘)$\gg$. There were several methods of keeping clothes better from insects. In relation, how to use anti-insect incense varied in accordance with main materials of clothes, paper, textile, leather and others. Cymbopogon dstans(芸香), Brassica rapu var and Incarvillea sinensis(角蒿) are anti-insect incense which were used for paper. Anti-insect incense for textiles is classified into single and mixed incenses depending on whether only one kind of incense was used or more than seven kinds of the substance. Acori rhizoma(菖蒲), Capsella bursa-pastoris(薺菜花), Lactuca sativa L., Erigeron canadensis(莽草), Stemona japonica(百部) and Moschus sifanicus(麝香) are single anti-insect incense which were used for textile. While, the latter was called. ‘Yi Xiang(衣香)’ is mixed anti-insect incense which was used for textile. Artemisia asiatica(艾葉) and Zanthoxylum schinifolium(花椒) are anti-insect incense which were used for leather. Angelica dahurica(芳香) and Bamboo are anti-insect incense which were used for others. There were three main methods of using incense to prevent insects, that is, diffusing incense's strong scent and ingredients, exposing to smokes from burnt incense and washing with incense-boiled water. Diffusing incenses had a strong scent and antibiotic ingredients, which were put between books or clothes or into a storage box without being processed. If necessary, however, they were processed into rough powders that were in turn used singly, or otherwise mixed for a stronger scent and better insect elimination. Exposing to smokes from burnt incense was done as follows. A clothes was put on 'Long(籠)' underneath which there was a boiling water. The clothes was humidified by the water and then exposed to smokes from burnt incense. 'Long(籠)' had been long used since it was manufactured in the QinHan(秦漢) period for the first time. A local literature, $\ll$Koryo TuGing(高麗圖經)$\gg$ shows that in the Koryo(高麗) period, BoShaLu(博山爐) were used as a means of exposing clothes to smokes to prevent moths, similarly to China. Washing clothes with incense-boiled water was more effective in removing lots of worms and germs from clothes, but leaving the scent and ingredients of the used incense and maintaining the effect of anti-insect.

  • Purpose: To examine the antibacterial effectiveness of silver nanoparticles (SNP) mixed with commercial orthodontic adhesives. Materials and Methods: SNP was prepared by dissolving silver perchlorate in an organic solvent and reducing it with ultraviolet radiation. SNP was then mixed with four commercial orthodontic adhesives (Light Bond, Blugloo, Transbond XT, and Fuji Ortho LC) (0.05 wt %), which were then formed into disc-shape specimens ($8.0mm{\times}3.0mm$). Commercial orthodontic adhesives containing no SNP were used as the control groups. Specimens of the four experimental and four control groups were incubated with streptococcus mutans and the medium turbidity was assessed at 3, 6, 9, 12, and 24 hours after incubation. The agar diffusion test was also performed to examine the growth inhibition zone of these groups. The data were statistically analyzed using a Wilcoxon rank sum test and t-test with a Bonferroni's correction (P<0.05). Result: The SNP containing groups had a superior antibacterial effect compared to the control groups. In the agar diffusion test, the control groups without SNP did not produce an inhibition zone, whereas the SNP containing groups showed inhibition zone of 10~13 mm. Conclusion: The incorporation of SNP into orthodontic adhesives can inhibit cariogenic bacterial growth.

  • Objective: This study aimed to determine the appropriate supplementation level of lactic acid bacteria (LAB; Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus clausii), yeast (Saccharomyces cariocanus and Wickerhamomyces anomalus) for degrading free gossypol and glucosinolate in the fermented total mixed ration (TMR) containing cottonseed meal (CSM) or rapeseed meal (RSM), to improve the utilization efficiency of these protein sources. Methods: For LAB, L. plantarum or B. clausii was inoculated at 1.0×108, 1.0×109, 1.0×1010, and 1.0×1011 colony-forming unit (CFU)/kg dry matter (DM), respectively. For yeast, S. cariocanus or W. anomalus was inoculated at 5×106, 5×107, 5×108, and 5×109 CFU/kg DM, respectively. The TMR had 50% moisture and was incubated at 30℃ for 48 h. After fermentation, the chemical compositions, and the contents of free gossypol and glucosinolate were determined. Results: The results showed that the concentration of free gossypol content was reduced (p<0.05), while that of the crude protein content was increased (p<0.05) in the TMR containing CSM inoculated by B. clausii (1×109 CFU/kg DM) or S. cariocanus (5×109 CFU/kg DM). Similarly, the content of glucosinolate was lowered (p<0.05) and the crude protein content was increased (p<0.05) in TMR containing RSM inoculated with B. clausii (1×1010 CFU/kg DM) or S. cariocanus (5×109 CFU/g DM). Conclusion: This study confirmed that inclusion of B. clausii with 1.0×109 or 1.0×1010 CFU/kg DM, or S. cariocanus (5×109 CFU/kg DM) to TMR containing CSM/RSM improved the nutritional value and decreased the contents of anti-nutritional factors.

  • Correlated responses have been widely analyzed since Liang and Zeger (1986) introduced the famous Generalized Estimating Equations(GEE). However, their variance functions were restricted to known quantifies multiplied by scale parameter. In so many industries and academic/research fields, power-of-the-mean variance function is one of the common variance function. We suggest GEE-type pseudolikelihood estimation based on the power-of-the-mean variance using existing software and investigate it's efficiency for different working correlation matrices.

  • Uncooled infrared(IR) detectors that use a microbolometer with a large focal-plane array(FPA) have been developed with surface micromachining technology. There are many materials for microbolometers, such as metals, vanadium oxide, semiconductors and superconductors. Among theses, vanadium oxide is a promising material for uncooled microbolometers due to it high temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR) at room temperature. It is, however, is very difficult to deposit vanadium oxide thin films having a high TCR and low resistance because of the process limits in microbolometer fabrication. In general, vanadium oxides have been applied to microbolometer in mixed phases formed by ion beam deposition methods at low temperature with TCR in the range from -1.5 to -2.0%K.

  • The productivity of container terminal is determined by its various operation methods. This paper aims at finding out the factors to enhance the productivity of container handling of quay crane, using simulation technique. Three levels of decision making in terminal operation, strategy, and tactics and operation are selected for defining parameters of simulation The result of the simulation and test shows that the significant factors to improve the productivity are the stack height of container, block dispersion and the distance in yard planning for shipment. Decision making in the operation level, however, is of significance in the mixed condition of strategic and tactical level. The result shows meaningful guidelines in decision making under strategic, tactical and operation level.

  • The product rate variation problem, to be called the PRVP, is to sequence different type units that minimizes the maximum value of a deviation function between ideal and actual rates. The PRVP is an important scheduling problem that arises on mixed-model assembly lines. A surge of research has examined very interesting methods for the PRVP. We believe, however, that several issues are still open with respect to this problem. In this study, we consider convex bipartite graphs, perfect matchings, permanents and balanced sequences. The ultimate objective of this study is to show that we can provide a more efficient and in-depth procedure with a graph theoretic approach in order to solve the PRVP. To achieve this goal, we propose formal alternative proofs for some of the results stated in the previous studies, and establish several new results.

  • An active study on UHPC, which has been recently used in high-rise building and bridges, is in progress. However, research on bonding shear strength of UHPC is required to be studied due to the lack of information. In this study, experimental research progress for bonding shear strength (shear strength of adhesive surface) evaluation of UHPC (Ultra High Performance Concrete) is proceeded. First, specimens that surface treatment methods of concrete bonded section and retardation time of placement are considered are produced. Second, Direct Shear test is applied on concrete bonded section of UHPC. As a result of this study, the highest bonding shear strength specimen in which compared to the non-retardation time specimen is compaction turbulence treatment. From later study, it is judged that strength of UHPC in accordance with direction of steel fiber when steel fiber of UHPC is mixed.
