  • Recently, as the roles and utilization fields of UAV become more diverse, demand for high - level mission has been increasing. To solve this issue, researches on the operation of multiple small UAVs and related systems have been actively carried out. The multiple small UAVs based application system has a problem that the task complexity of control personnel increases because the control personnel must continuously control and manage several small UAVs. Hence, it is necessary to develop a software platform that can perform efficient control in order to employ a multiple small UAVs based application system successfully. In this paper, we propose an effective ground control software platform for application systems using multiple small UAVs. We first analyze the requirements for the software platform, and design and implement software based on the analysis. Simulation using the X-plane flight simulator shows that multiple flight data are effectively displayed and that the image data transmitted from many small UAVs are simultaneously displayed in real time.

  • Purpose The business ecosystem perspective offers a new lens in which to view customers. Customers as the member of business ecosystems influence firms by participating in both the firm level activities and the business ecosystem level activities. For example, customers participate in the business ecosystems by forming interest groups, allowing their voice to be heard the within business ecosystems. Customers can also, turn public opinion around and foster the business ecosystems favorable to firms. On the other hand, as an extreme case of customer participation, customers can engage in community activities to boycott the purchase of products or services from certain firms or business ecosystems. Design/methodology/approach This study views content creation and feedback activities as customer participation in the firm level. On the other hand, word-of-mouth (WOM) and boycott activities are considered as customer participation in the business ecosystem level. This study presents a research model regarding the relationships among customer socialization, customer participation, and psychological ownership. The proposed model is validated through an empirical analysis on online platform business ecosystems. Findings When the two business ecosystems are compared, different results were drawn. In the Facebook ecosystem, boycott and psychological ownership did not have a significant relationship. However, in the Kakao ecosystem, the two had a significant positive relationship. The mediating effect of the business ecosystem type sheds a light on the mission, purpose, vision, and other values associated with the theory of the business on the customer-firm relationship. Further implications for theory and practice were discussed in this study.

  • The low birthrate and the need for national defense reform in Korea drive the Navy to develop efficient human resource planning such as a manpower forecasting model. However, to our knowledge, there is no study exploring the manpower forecasting model for naval ships in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model for forecasting manpower demand in naval ships. Data for analyses were drawn from 19 ships in the Korean Navy. Results indicate that mission type is significantly related to the number of manpower. Specifically, battleships need the more manpower than the battle support ships. The results also showed that the weight of hull structure-engine and the weight of the weapons system significantly increased the number of manpower. However, the weight of the combat system was not significant. In addition, whereas the automation level of hull structure-engine and the automation level of weapon system was found to be negatively related to the number of manpower, the automation level of combat system was positively related to it. The model developed here contributes to an advanced human resource planning of the Korean Navy. Implications, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.

  • The lunar gravity field is an important source to understand the lunar interior structure, dichotomy and magma ocean of the moon, furthermore it can be used to study the origin and evolution history of the moon. In this paper, we firstly investigated the history of lunar exploration were performed for determining the lunar gravity field, in addition to investigating the procedure of progress related with the lunar gravity field model and gravity observations techniques. After, we determined practically the gravity anomalies of the moon using the new lunar gravity model, SGM90d (SELENE Gravity Model), which were developed by processing the tracking data from SELENE, the japanese lunar mission. Finally, we compared the lunar gravity anomalies from SGM90d model to the those from existing lunar gravity model (LP165P). As results from the comparison, we can make a sense that 4-way Doppler observations of SELENE is very effective to measure the gravity field on the farside of the moon. The precise lunar gravity field model including the farside of the moon which can be more helpful to understand the dichotomy of moon and to establish the detailed distribution of lunar gravity field, such as a mascon.

  • The TC&R(Telemetry, Command & Ranging) antennas should have the hemispherical omni antenna patterns to make sure that the communication link between the satellite and the ground station can be established under whatever satellite attitude during after launch to on-orbit mission. The hemispherical omni-antennas are typically placed on the +z axis and -z axis of the satellite to provide the spherical omni patterns. The S-band qaudrifilar helix antennas having RHCP and LHCP hemispherical omni pattern are designed to meet the antenna gain and the axial ratio requirements. To investigate the omni-antenna pattern characteristics depending on four cases of antenna polarization combination placed on the +z axis and -z axis, the antenna pattern of each case is analyzed. Based on the result, after installing the designed RHCP and LHCP S-band omni-antennas on the +z axis and -z axis of the satellite, the combined antenna gain is obtained and finally analyzed in conjunction with the communication link influence.

  • TRiplet Ionospheric Observatory-CubeSat for Ion, Neutron, Electron & MAgnetic fields (TRIO-CINEMA) is a CubeSat with 3.14 kg in weight and 3-U ($10{\times}10{\times}30$ cm) in size, jointly developed by Kyung Hee University and UC Berkeley to measure magnetic fields of near Earth space and detect plasma particles. When a satellite is launched into orbit, it encounters ultra-high vacuum and extreme temperature. To verify the operation and survivability of the satellite in such an extreme space environment, experimental tests are conducted on the ground using thermal vacuum chamber. This paper describes the temperature control device and monitoring system suitable for CubeSat test environment using the thermal vacuum chamber of the School of Space Research, Kyung Hee University. To build the chamber, we use a general purpose thermal analysis program and NX 6.0 TMG program. We carry out thermal vacuum tests on the two flight models developed by Kyung Hee University based on the thermal model of the TRIO-CINEMA satellite. It is expected from this experiment that proper operation of the satellite in the space environment will be achieved.
