  • In this paper, the temperature distribution according to the property change of the insulating oil of the power transformer and max temperature were predicted through the ductility interpretation which heat-flow is coupled. By using CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamics) for the interpretation, the temperature distribution of 154kV the class single phase power transformer was predicted. The power loss causing the temperature rise of the transformer was changed to the heat source and we used as the input value for the heat-flow analysis. The temperature distribution was predicted according to the change of the density, specific heat, thermal conductivity and viscosity, that is the ingredient having an effect on the temperature rise of the transformer oil. The mineral oil of 4 kinds used in domestic and international based on the interpreted result was selected and the temperature distribution according to each load and Hot Spot temperature was predicted.

  • As a previous research, improved durability of concrete by filling capillary pores with waste cooking oil was suggested as a method of controlling carbonation of the concrete replaced high volume of SCMs. on the other hand, the emulsified refined waste cooking oil for better mixing performance had a drawback of reducing air content related with decreasing freeze-thawing resistance. As a solution of this problem, surface applying method was suggested instead of adding in mixing process, and in this research, the performance regarding concrete durability are evaluated comparing emulsified refined cooking oil with water-repelling agent.

  • This paper surveys the latest findings on vegetable-oil-based dielectric coolants in power systems. In recent years, environmental concerns have been increased on the use of poorly biodegradable mineral oils in distribution and power transformers in regions where spills from leaks and equipment failure could contaminate the surroundings. In addition, there are demands to improve equipment efficiencies in power systems. In this reason, researches were started in the mid 1990s to develop a fully biodegradable dielectric coolants. Vegetable oil was considered the most likely candidate for a fully biodegradable dielectric coolants. Vegetable-oil-based dielectric coolants provide the advantages of high level of biodegradability, renewable natural resource, non-toxic properties, enhanced fire safety, more effective cooling and good dielectric strength for many electrical equipment.

  • In this paper, the electrical properties of liquid insulating oil were analyzed by changing the ambient temperature change at 10℃ in-tervals from 0℃ to 30℃ through an insulation breakdown experiment in order to analyze the insulation performance of liquid in-sulating oil that varies according to temperature changes. As a result, it was confirmed through experiments that the lower the am-bient temperature, the higher the insulation breakdown voltage, depending on both the electrode shape and the electrode interval, and it was determined that the lower the ambient temperature, the higher the insulation performance of the liquid insulating oil.

  • In the make-up product, Eye-shadow products have several purposes of enhancing product quality such as providing the beauty (variation of shape, clean appearance), feeling, continuity and adhesion. In this paper, newly developed wet type back injection press process is introduced so as to increase higher value products which providing various the beauty. The solvent takes an essential role to provide the fluidity of the powder bulk during the pressed-process of wet type pressed product. In this study, the effect of solvent in the oil binder was investigated, And the higher quality condition of the wet type pressed product was built to apply cosmetic preparation. Firstly, the system was designed powder phase as non treated pigment. The oil binder phase is categorized as hydrocarbons(Mineral oil, Squalane), Silicones(Methicone, Dimethicone ), esters (Octyldodecanol, Octyl Dodecyl Myristate). The solvent phase used was C 7-8 isoparaffin and Isopropyl Alcohol. The interaction of oil binder and solvent is investigated by measuring mass of final oil binder and the each solubility parameter. It was found that the higher the solubility the higher the degree of change in the final composition of the oil binder. In order to maintain the quality of the final product, the solvent used in pressed-process should be hydrophobic with oil binder.

  • It has been recognized that friction coefficient decreased with decreasing viscosity of oil in lubrication. In general, the more viscosity decreases, the more wear rate increases due to decrease load carrying capacity. It has been proposed that nano particles in oil decrease friction coefficient and wear rate. The purpose of this study is to apply oil of lower viscosity that mix with nano particles at the compressor used in a refrigerator to decrease friction coefficient keeping Load carrying capacity. Mineral oil of 8 cSt were used and mixed with nano particle. Friction coefficient was evaluated by a disk-on-disk tester. As a result, friction coefficient of nano oil decreased by 90% in comparison with raw oil. These results lead us to the conclusion that nano oil is new plan to raise efficiency of the compressor.

  • With the decline in discoveries of new oil fields and increasing demand from developing countries it is believed that enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technologies will play a key role to meet the energy demand in years to come. Based on the recently-published data, this paper discusses current status of global EOR market and technical development trends. The EOR market includes oil produced through various EOR recovery methods, such as thermal recovery, gas injection, chemical injection. Also, EOR methods are addressed screening criteria by reservoir and fluid characteristics including lithology, depth, thickness, and oil properties such as composition and gravity. Finally, the examples of field applied by various EOR methods are discussed with respect to reservoir characteristics and performance.

  • This paper presents the status and characteristics of oil and gas industry and the guideline for investment of producing asset or petroleum and natural gas rights(PNG rights) in Canada. The Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin(WSCB) consists of around 11 main formations, and petroleum has actively been produced at the Montney, Cardium, Viking and Bakken formation. However, the drilling activity declined to 1,917 in Q1, 2016 from 5,724 in Q1, 2014 and 3,365 in Q1, 2015 which dropped 67% and 43% respectively because of the low oil price since 2014. Also, the price of oil and gas asset decreased 34~47% on reserves and production base, and the PNG rights for development decreased 81~97% based on total bidding price, bidding area and unit bidding price. Therefore, it is very favorable environment for Korean companies entering into the Canadian petroleum business especially in PNG rights acquisition which needs smaller investment compare to asset acquisition and shows sharpest value depreciation.

  • This research was conducted to investigate the feasibility of using deinked pulp of white ledger(DIP) for the manufacture of high quality premium tissue. The three types of tissues were prepared using the softener treated bleached DIP, softener treated mixed pulp of unbleached DIP and virgin pulp, and untreated mixed pulp of bleached DIP and virgin pulp, respectively, and their tensile index. softness, and brightness were measured and compared. The bulk and surface softness increased only slightly by the addition of softener(0.2% mineral oil) into the bleached DIP. The tensile index was decreased by 15∼30%, and the brightness was the range of 86% to 87% ISO. The softener(0.2∼0.8% mineral oil or dialkyl imidazoline) treatment of mixed pulp of unbleached DIP and virgin pulp Improved the bulk and surface of tissue considerably. However, the brightness was low as 85% ISO or below. Although the softness of the tissue made from bleached DIP blended with virgin pulp was the lowest among three types of tissues evaluated, its tensile index was the highest and brightness was 87∼88% ISO. Based on the results, it may be predicted that the bleached DIP blended with virgin pulp is the best raw material for the manufacture of high quality premium tissue if softener treatment is applied to mixed pulp, because the softness can be improved by the addition of softener. In general, the softness of tissue was improved with the increase in the amount of softener: However, the tensile index inversely proportional to the amount of softener added. Dialkyl imidazoline was more effective than mineral oil with respect to the improvement in softness, even though the loss in tensile index was severe with the treatment of dialkyl imidazoline.

  • The mining industry of Japan had rapidly grown after the World War II with the economic growth. There existed more than 350 mines all over Japan in the 1960’s. The mines however had been closed one after another under the influence of the world and domestic economic events such as the mining-related pollution in Japan after the middle of the 60’s, the Oil Crisises in 73 and 79 and the Strong Yen in 85 (Fig. 1).
