  • Purpose: Government quality assurance (QA) activities in Korea, which is carried out by the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality, is not effective due to 1) the obscureness of the QA implementation method, 2) the gap between QA activities of provisions and those conducted in the fields, and 3) the variation in subjective judgement among the QA personnel. The purpose of this paper is to propose some suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of government QA activities for military supplies in the production stage. Methods: QA activities for military supplies are investigated and problematic aspects are deduced for the production stage. To secure the effectiveness of the QA activities, Defense Contract Management Agency of the United Sates is benchmarked and five improvement methods are presented. Results: Five improvement aspects are 1) reflecting special terms and conditions of government mandatory inspection in contract, 2) classifying QA personnel, 3) making use of data collection and analysis template compulsory, 4) providing checklist for process review, and 5) establishing guidelines for sampling plans for product examination. Conclusion: Suggestions of this paper can lead to consistency and balance in government QA activities, reducing military suppliers' complaints and enhancing the effectiveness of QA effort, and ultimately contributing to the quality improvement of military supplies.

  • It has been almost 10 years since the department of military studies was opened at the civilian universities. One of the important elements for the success of these new departments would be the curriculum. This paper tries to give an realistic answer to the question of curriculum. The factors influencing the design of curriculum of military studies are analyzed, such as the curricular of the military institutes that confer the B.S. in military studies, the domain of military studies and research areas, documentation classification of military studies and military engineering, scientific knowledge versus vocational capabilities in university education, relations between the B.S. courses and the master or doctorate courses, requirements asked by the Army, and moral education needed for the military officers. As a result of the analysis, the mandatory core courses should be total of 19, including 5 general courses and 14 major courses.

  • This study emphasizes the essential need in the military for effective measurement and monitoring of soldiers' physical fitness, health, and exercise capabilities to enhance both their overall fitness and combat effectiveness. The effective assessment of physical fitness is considered a core element of management, aligning with principles of modern management. Particularly, preparing soldiers with robust physical fitness is deemed crucial for adapting to dynamic changes on the battlefield. In this research, the RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) customer analysis and clustering methods, validated in e-commerce, are introduced as a basis for applying an AI-driven customer analysis approach to assess military personnel fitness. To achieve this, the study explores the incorporation of the RSC (Reveal, Sustainable, Control) analysis model. This model aims to effectively categorize and monitor military personnel fitness. The application of the RFM technique in the RSC analysis model quantifies and models military fitness, fostering continuous improvement and seeking strategies to enhance the effectiveness of fitness management. Through these methods, the study develops an AI customer analysis technique applied to the RSC clustering analysis method for improving and sustaining military personnel fitness.

  • The purpose of this research is to study the effect of soldiers' self-development during military service on returning university students' self-directed learning and job preparation Behavior. The object of this study are 323 students among second, third and fourth graders of about 15 universities' nationalwide by online stratified clusterrandom sampling. SPSS 25.0 program was used for data analysis and factor analysis, frequency analysis, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis were done. The rusult are as follows :First, self-directed learning and job preparation behavior according to personal characters have meaningful differences in university location, grade, degree of self-development during military service, degree of self-development during military service, self-development during military service, e-learning study during military service, gaining credits during military service, gaining national licence during military service and receiving money for self-development during military service. Second, The experience of self-development during military service has meanigful difference in returnig university students' self-directed learning and job preparation behavior.

  • Acetylcholinesterase reactivators are crucial antidotes for the treatment of organophosphate intoxication. Standard in vitro test was chosen using a rat brain homogenate as the source of AChE. Screening of reactivation potency was performed with two concentration of reactivator (1000 ${\mu}M$ and 10 ${\mu}M$). Results were compared to established reactivators pralidoxime, methoxime, HI-6, trimedoxime and obidoxime. More than 30 novel reactivators performed equal or better reactivation ability of POX-inhibited AChE compared to currently used reactivators. The structure-activity relationship for reactivators of paraoxon-inhibited AChE was developed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze military combat training data to improve military operation and training methods and verify required military doctrine. We set the number of combat disabled enemies, which the individual combatants make using their weapons, as the response variable regarding offensive operations from scientific military training data of reinforced infantry battalion. Our response variable has more zero observations than would be allowed for by the traditional GLM such as Poisson regression. We used the zero-inflated regression and the hurdle regression for data analysis considering the over-dispersion and excessive zero observation problems. Our result can be utilized as an appropriate reference in order to verify a military doctrine for small units and analysis of various operational and tactical factors.

  • The article considers the possibilities of increasing the accuracy of estimates of the parameters of the trajectory of the target with the provision of a given probability of stable support of the air object, in particular, during its maneuver. The aim of the work is to develop a filtration algorithm that provides a given probability of stable tracking of the air object by determining the regular components of filtration errors, in particular, when maneuvering the air object, and their compensation with appropriate correction of filter parameters and estimates of air object trajectory parameters.

  • The presence of lung cancer cells in anoxic zones is a key cause od chemotherapeutic resistance. Thus, it is necessary to enhance the sensitivity of such lung cancer cells. However, loss of efficient gene therapeutic targeting and inefficient objective gene expression in the anoxic zone in lung cancer are dilemmas. In the present study, a eukaryotic expression plasmid pUC57-HRE-JAB1 driven by a hypoxia response elements promoter was constructed and introduced into lung cancer cell line A549. The cells were then exposed to a chemotherapeutic drug cis-diamminedichloroplatinum (C-DDP). qRT-PCR and western blotting were used to determine the mRNA and protein level and flow cytometry to examine the cell cycle and apoptosis of A549 transfected pUC57-HRE-JAB1. The results showed that JAB1 gene in the A549 was overexpressed after the transfection, cell proliferation being arrested in G1 phase and the apoptosis ratio significantly increased. Importantly, introduction of pUC57-HRE-JAB1 significantly increased the chemotherapeutic sensitivity of A549 in an anoxic environment. In conclusion, JAB1 overexpression might provide a novel strategy to overcome chemotherapeutic resistance in lung cancer.

  • The aim of this study was to search for a security strategy and security education program by analyzing the security awareness of universities with and without Department of Military Science. The results of university student's security awareness revealed a normal level of recognition and differences according to region and gender. The recognition of stability of current Korean national security is normally low on average, which suggests that students feel anxiety towards national security. In addition, the North Korea provocation influence on national security has been recognized highly (score of 4.33 on average). The national security awareness of university students in the case of whether establishing a Dept. of Military Science or not showed a normal level, which revealed a score of 3.44, and differed according to region, gender and recruitment, and had a relationship with the recognition of Dept. of Military Science management. Therefore, the political consideration of security authorities is in strong demand to improve the security awareness of general university students, and have an influx of great human resources by advertising the educational contents, advantages and future career of Dept. of Military Science students.
