민.군 겸용헬기 개발현황 - 군용헬기에서 민수헬기로 전환사례를 중심으로 - (Current Status of Civil-Military Dual Use Helicopter Development - Focusing on Conversion Case from Military to Civil Helicopter -)

  • 헬리콥터는 군용헬기와 민수헬기에서 요구되는 부품과 기술이 거의 동일하기 때문에 개발 소요기간 및 비용을 절감하기 위하여 상당수가 군용에서 민수로, 또는 그 반대로 전환 개발되며, 혹은 개발 초기부터 민군겸용을 고려하여 개발된다. 군용에서 민수헬기로 전환 개발된 경우에는 충분한 군용헬기 소요를 바탕으로 군용헬기 개발을 추진한 후, 일부개조를 통해 민수헬기로 전환 개발된다. 본 논문에서는 군용에서 민수로 전환 개발된 민 군 겸용헬기의 개발방식과 개발사례에 대하여 조사, 분석하였다.

A Study on the Tank-Attack Helicopter Duel

  • In this paper, we consider a tow-person zero-sum game in which an attack helicopter with a missile wishes to destroy a tank. The tank has much small-caliber ammunition for protection itself from the attack helicopter. And the attack helicopter possesses a missile for attacking the tank. We develop models for the behavior of the attack helicopter, in terms of missile launch time, and of the tank, in terms of ammunition firing rate, in several situations. In particular, we examine the Weiss-Gillman model.

시뮬레이션을 이용한 전투효과기반 공격헬기 소요 분석방안 (Combat Effectiveness Based Analysis Methodology for Optimal Requirement of Attack Helicopter Using Simulation)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology that can estimate optimal requirement of attack helicopter Korea army will be operating in future. For estimating optimal requirement, attack helicopter's operation concept, performance, battlefield environment and enemy threat are considered. We use a wargame model, AAsim(Army Aviation simulation), as a analytic simulation model which is used to analyze DOTMLPF and operation in army aviation field. In this paper, we conduct battle experiment for anti armored corps operation which reflects attack helicopter's combat effectiveness very well. As a result of simulation, the destructive rate for enemy armored corps per each attack helicopter can be calculated. In this paper, we propose optimal requirement of attack helicopter using that destructive rate for enemy armored corps.

  • The load requirements should be known to design mechanical structure. This paper proposes a generation method of load requirements using U.S. military specification to design the external mounting structure of the helicopters of which the flight environments such as aerodynamic forces and inertia forces are unknown. In this study, the load requirements which were applied at the design of the pod structure for helicopter captive flight test could be computed by using this method. The validation of proposed method was confirmed from the test flight using developed pod system.

적절한 헬기 트랜스미션 내구도 시험절차 연구 (A Study on Proper Procedure for Helicopter Transmission Endurance Test)

  • Transmission is a core component of helicopter to transmit power from engine to rotor and must have a endurance to be able to show satisfactorily its performance required during its life time. When developing a new helicopter, both military and civil airworthiness authorities require a tie-down test to verify its endurance. Procedure for transmission endurance test is described in FAR part 29 or US military specification but its details are more or less ambiguous. In this paper, we have proposed a proper procedure for transmission endurance test by giving KUH transmission endurance test example including determination of applicable torque, load and test profile.

군용헬기 결빙 감항인증을 위한 국내 기상환경에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Korea Weather Environment for Icing Airworthiness of Military Helicopter)

  • Based on atmosphere weather data by balloon in Osan and Gwangju area, if icing condition occurs in weather environment of altitude range where helicopter is operated was analyzed in quantitative way. Yearly icing occurrence frequency for daytime during recent three years was average 102 days in Osan, average 91 days in Gwangju. Icing weather environment to highly affect operation of helicopter varies a little according to analysis methods but icing intensity at MDT level was calculated in all the methods, and 14.5~38 times was suggested in Osan; 2.5~30 times in Gwangju. Icing at MDT level was calculated in common in all the analysis methods through wide periods such as Jan., Feb., Mar., and Nov. in Osan. In Gwangju, icing at MDT level was suggested focusing on Jan. only. Therefore, military helicopter developed in Korea is required to strive obtaining certificate of airworthiness about icing condition at MDT level for implementation of perfect operational mission and safe operation.

QFD를 이용한 미래 공격헬기의 핵심기능 도출 (Derivation of Critical Functions of the Future Attack Helicopter Using QFD)

  • This work describes an approach that contributes to derive from mission to critical functions of the attack helicopter under future battle space environment. An existing mission of the attack helicopter is limited to the only shooter oriented functions. In the future environment, mission and its functions of the helicopter might be much expanded. The functions should be derived by the top down approach based on systems engineering approach. In this point of view, this work describes network based future battle environment. From this environment, the missions of the attack helicopter are identified and optimized functions are derived through sequential procedures like from missions to tasks, tasks to activities, and activities to functions. The selected activities are obtained from the tasks using QFD. The weighting scores of the QFD are calculated by the AHP computational procedure. Finally the critical functions are presented through the similar procedure.

항공용 전자전장비의 방향탐지 정확도 분석기법 (A Study on Direction Finding Accuracy Analysis for Airborne ESM)

  • The helicopter position, heading data and the direction finding data of ESM are essentially required to compensate the parallax and analyze the direction finding accuracy of heliborne ESM in flight test phase. In the case of the long test range compared with small platform like as LYNX helicopter and Jisim Island test site, the parallax compensation for direction finding accuracy calculation and GPS position error can be neglected. In this paper, the direction finding accuracy on the basis of helicopter propeller was calculated by coordinate changing between helicopter and transmitting antenna from WGS84 coordinate to navigation coordinate using helicopter position and direction finding data.

헬기 MRO 비즈니스의 잠재력 (Potential of Helicopter MRO Business)

  • Since the global economic crisis in year 2008, the world civil helicopter market has been growing recently. According to the market outlook in the next decade, the demand of civil helicopter will be driven by the demand of Private & Corporate, Oil & Gas, Off-shore and EMS(Emergency Medical Service) usages. On the other side, the demand of military market will be driven by the modification and upgrading for life extension or performance enhancement than the new helicopter development for replacing old models. To summarize these situations, the demand of MRO(Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) market has also been on the rise because of the demand due to above several usages in civil side and the life-extension in military side. Through the MRO market analysis for characteristics, developmental trends and a supply chain, this paper describes that the potential of MRO business is considerably large as a propulsive power of domestic helicopter industry. And also, it proposes the construction direction of MRO network because the domestic industry must make the developmental awareness and reliability a stepping-stone towards own helicopter.

확장형 탐색구역에서 Multi-Static 운용 기반 대잠헬기의 탐색에 관한 연구 (An Efficient Search Strategy of Anti-Submarine Helicopter based on Multi-Static Operation in Furthest-On-Circles)

  • The anti-submarine helicopter is the most effective weapon system in anti-submarine warfare. Recently changes in the introduction of the anti-submarine warfare sonar system are expected to operate multi-static sonar equipment of the anti-submarine helicopter. Therefore, it is required to study the operational concept of multi-static of anti-submarine helicopter. This paper studies on the optimal search of multi-static based on anti-submarine helicopter considering Furthest On Circles(FOC). First, the deployment of the sensors of the anti-submarine helicopter is optimized using genetic algorithms. Then, the optimized model is extended to consider FOC. Finally, the proposed model is verified by comparing pattern-deployment the search method in Korean Navy.
