Ag가 함유된 전도성 도료의 제조 조건에 따른 고주파 특성 (Microwave Properties of Ag Conducting Paste with Various Preparation Conditions)

  • Dual band internal antennas were fabricated with Ag conducting paste of various preparation conditions and different print thickness by silk screen print. We have investigated microwave properties were compared Ag conducting paste antenna with copperplate antenna at 800 MHz and 1,800 MHz. Gain of Ag conducting paste antenna was improved when preparation conditions were the single size Ag particle, using dry type resin and high Ag containing percent. However, it was lower than that of copperplate antenna within $0.1\~2.0dBi$ at 800MHz. In addition, it was improved at 800MHz when thickness of Ag conducting paste was printed more than skin depth but it was held after critical print thickness. On the other hand, it was reached level of copperplate antenna at 1,800MHz.

  • A tomography system using microwave multi-channel transceiver was fabricated and measured. The tomography system is applicable to detection of breast cancers in a human body. This system is configured by microwave muiti-channel transceivers, a illumination chamber housing monopole antennas and coupling liquid, and image reconstruction algorithm solving inverse scattering problem.

Graphene Reconfigurable Antenna for GPS and Iridium Applications

  • A frequency reconfigurable antenna based on graphene and used for multi-band wireless communications is presented in this article. The proposed antenna, which consists of two radiating rectangular loops with a graphene extension, is analyzed for Global Positioning System (GPS) and Iridium applications. Its operating frequency is tuned through the implementation of a layer of graphene and thereby adjusting the applied gate bias. Furthermore, the results show a novel use of graphene for microwave frequencies while achieving a frequency reconfiguration with an improvement of the impedance matching and the gain. The results also prove the importance of graphene, with its exceptional properties, for a promising future in nano-electronics.

  • With a growing concern about the state of infrastructure worldwide, the demand for the development of reliable nondestructive testing techniques (NDT) is ever increasing. Among possible NDT techniques. microwave method is proven to be effective in fast and non-contact inspection of concrete structures and inclusions inside concrete. It is also found that the microwave method has a potential in detecting the delamination between fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) plate and concrete. On the other hand, ultrasonic method can be another way to find the delamination. In this paper, the research work needed for the development of a reliable microwave method and ultrasonic method is studied in actual measurements of concrete specimens reinforced with FRP. Concrete specimens are made with FRP and artificial delamination inside. A microwave measurement system with horn antennas with high center frequency and broad frequency bandwidth are used to image inside concrete specimens for the detection of debonding. between concrete and FRP. Also, the equipment of ultrasonic method which is commercialized are used at the same condition. Both of the results are analyzed in comparison of each other. Microwave and ultrasonic methods have been used for the detection of debonding between concrete and fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP).

능동 위상 배열 SAR 안테나를 위한 X-대역 송수신 모듈의 설계 및 제작 (A Design and Fabrication of the X-Band Transmit/Receive Module for Active Phased Array SAR Antennas)

  • 본 논문에서는 능동 위상 배열 안테나를 가지는 SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar)용 X-대역 T/R(Transmit/Receive) 모듈을 설계, 제작하였다. T/R 모듈은 X-대역에서 800 MHz 이상 대역폭을 가지며 이중 편파 운용이 가능하다. 송신 출력 7 W 이상에 잡음지수 3.9 dB 이하를 가진다. 위상과 이득은 6비트 위상변위기와 6비트 디지털 감쇠기에 의해 각각 제어된다. 게다가 제작된 T/R 모듈은 방향성 결합기와 전력분배기로 연결되는 성능 점검/보정 포트를 가진다. LTCC 다층 기판을 사용하여 고직접화 T/R 모듈이 가능하게 하였다. 모든 동작 주파수 대역에서 수신시 RMS 이득 오차는 최대 0.8 dB 이하이고, 송/수신시 RMS 위상 오차는 최대 $4^{\circ}$ 이하로 측정되었고, 또한 시험 결과 T/R 모듈은 요구되는 전기적인 성능을 만족하였다. 이 구조는 능동 위상 배열 SAR용 안테나에 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

A Design and Measurement of a Reference Signal Generator for a Radar System

  • This paper discusses the design and fabrication of a reference signal generator for a naval radar system, including the vibration environment test. The transmit signals of the S-band radar system are synthesized by the reference signal and the phase noise must lower than - 130 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset frequency. To achieve this specification, the phase noise of the reference signal needs to be less than -165 dBc/Hz at a 10 kHz offset. For achieving very low phase noise performance by the reference signal generator, the phase locked loop technique is applied with a 10 Hz loop bandwidth. Also, this reference signal generator has ${\pm}0.35\;ppb$ short-term stability to minimize instant phase errors and high vibration sensitivity against a ship's shaking, unbalanced rotating of antennas and so on.

극소형 전자기파 송수신기의 제작 및 전기도금된 구리박막의 칩단위 근접 전자기장 차폐효과 분석 (Microfabrication of Microwave Transceivers for On-Chip Near-Field Electromagnetic Shielding Characterization of Electroplated Copper Layers)

  • An experimental investigation on the near-field electromagnetic loss of thin copper layers has been presented using microfabricated microwave transceivers for applications to multi-chip microsystems. Copper layers in the thickness range of 0.2$\mu$m∼200$\mu$m have been electroplated on the Pyrex glass substrates. Microwave transceivers have been fabricated using the 3.5mm$\times$3.5mm nickel microloop antennas, electroformed on the silicon substrates. Electromagnetic radiation loss of the copper layers placed between the microloop transceivers has been measured as 10dB∼40dB for the wave frequency range of 100MHz∼1GHz. The 0.2$\mu$m-thick copper layer provides a shield loss of 20dB at the frequencies higher than 300MHz, whereas showing a predominant decreases of shield loss to 10dB at lower frequencies. No substantial increase of the shield effectiveness has been found for the copper shield layers thicker that 2 $\mu$m.

전자파 기반 유방암 진단을 위한 토모그램 분석 시스템 (Microwave Tomography Analysis System for Breast Cancer Detection)

  • 전자파를 사용한 유방암 진단을 위한 전자파 노출장치는 RF 송수신 장치와 여러 개의 안테나로 구성된다. 전자파 노출장치를 통해 얻어진 피시험체의 전자파 특성 데이터는 역산란 해석 알고리즘을 통해 유전율과 도전율을 계산 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 시험체 내부에 대한 유전율 및 도전율 정보의 분석을 통해 유방암 세포의 유무를 판단하거나, 유방암 세포의 분포에 대한 정보를 쉽게 분석 수 있도록 전자파 기반 유방암 진단 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 개발된 소프트웨어는 얻어진 유전율과 도전율 정보를 2D 혹은 3D의 컬러 영상으로 가시화 할 수 있는 기능을 제공해 줌으로써 사용자들이 암세포의 유무를 쉽게 판단할 수 있다. 또한 제안한 소프트웨어에서는 정밀한 토모그램 영상의 분석을 위해 영상의 단면뿐만 아니라 특정 영역 위치와 크기 정보를 표시해주는 기능을 제공한다.

밀리미터파(mm-Wave) 대역 5G 이동통신 Array 안테나의 설계와 성능분석 연구 (Design and Performance Analysis of 5G Mobile Communication Array Antenna in Millimeter-Wave (mm-Wave) Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 28 GHz와 38 GHz의5G 단말용 안테나 타입별 반사손실, 방사패턴 등의 성능을 고려하여 단일안테나를 설계하고, 안테나 소자를 반 파장 간격으로 배열하여 5G 단말용 배열안테나를 설계하였고 성능을 분석하였다. 밀리미터파 대역 통신에서는 기존의 마이크로파 대역에서와는 달리 송수신 간의 높은 경로손실이 발생한다. 5G 밀리미터파 단말용 배열안테나 설계에서는 안테나의 이득, 대역폭뿐만 아니라, 안테나 소자 간 격리도, side-lobe level(SLL) 등의 안테나 성능이 추가적으로 고려되어야 한다. 28GHz와 39GHz에서 제안하는 안테나 이득이 각각 약 13.5dBi 와 11.3dBi, 반사손실도 -18.4 dB과 -20 dB 이하의 측정 결과로부터 설계의 타당함을 입증하였고, 밀리미터파 대역 응용으로서도 적합함을 보였다.

Design and Performance Evaluation of On-chip Antenna for Ultra Low Power Wireless Transceiver

  • In this paper, on-chip antennas applicable to ultra low power wireless transceiver are designed and evaluated. Using $0.18{\mu}m$ SiGe MMIC process, 4 types of antenna with $1{\times}1mm^2$ dimensions are fabricated. The on-wafer measurement in a microwave probe station is conducted to measure the input VSWR and antenna performance of the designed on-chip antenna. Performance evaluation results show that developed antennas can be easily integrated into one-chip RF transceiver for ubiquitous applications, including WPAN and human body communications.
