  • In this study, we used a 16-bit microprocessor, 80C196KC for a control part in order to develop a multi-functional wheel-chair system, and implemented a joy-stick to control this system. For the complete system, we used a commercial electromotive wheelchair as a basic plant, and applied an encoder to get the rotating number of the motor to transfer data to the MCU to control the motor. We used PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) method to control the wheel-chair motor where a H-bridge circuit was configured. We used the fuzzy control algorithm for the operation of DC motor, which was attached to the electromotive wheelchair and manipulated following the change of the joystick position while a user was controlling the Joystick. He also could control the speed and direction of DC motor as well as control position information.

  • EISC ISA를 기반으로 한 64 비트 고성능 내장형 마이크로프로세서 AE64000의 효과적인 성능 향상을 위해서 비용 대비 성능 향상이 우수한 분기 예측 기법을 도입하여 AE64000 파이프라인에 적합한 분기 예측기를 추가로 설계하고 SPEClnt 벤치마크 및 타 내장형 벤치마크의 성능 분석 시뮬레이션을 통해 최적의 분기 예측기의 구조를 결정하였다. AE64000에서 LERI 명령 처리를 위해 AE64000 파이프라인에 추가된 독특한 IFU에 의하여 복잡성을 갖지만, IF 단계의 PC 대신에 IFU 단계의 PrePC를 이용하여 분기 명령을 명령어 prefetch 단계에서 예측함으로써, 올바른 분기 예측시 분기로 인한 손실을 제거할 수 있다. 결과적으로 최종 선정된 최적의 분기 예측기는 Verilog로 구현하여 AE64000 프로세서 코어 모델과 통합 합성하였고 아울러 추가되는 면적과 최종 목표 클럭에 동작하기 위한 타이밍 분석을 통해 최종 생산에 적합하도록 설계된 분기 예측기의 기능 및 타이밍 검증을 수행하였다. 최종 구현된 분기 예측기는 프로세서 칩 전체의 1% 미만의 비용으로 최고 12%의 성능 향상을 달성하여 성능 대비 면적의 효율성에서 높은 결과를 보였다.

  • In this contribution, we design and implement an SPI hardware interface for the microprocessor to communicate with the MMC (Multi-Media Card) in an embedded system. Proposed architecture is compatible with the APB in AMBA bus architecture. Embedding OS in an embedded system means a big burden in terms of hardware and software ending up with performance decline. In this paper, we adopt the concept of SPI communication without using OS in the embedded system and implement in a form of FPGA chip. The designed SPI module was automatically synthesized, placed, and routed. Implementation was performed through the Altera FPGA and well operated at 25MHz clock frequency, which satisfied our target speed.

  • The increase of additional information broadcasting of TV demands a graphic overlay processor. This paper is about the design, implementation and testing of a graphic overlay processor called by KBPS decoder ASSP (Applicatio n Specific Standard Product) which is compliance with Korea Broadcast Programming System. KBPS decoder ASSP consists of embedded 8 bit microprocessor Z80, graphic overlay controller, KBPS schedule decoder, memory controller, priority interrupt controller, MIDI controller, infrared raccoon receiver, async scrial communication controller, timer, bus controller, universal parallel input-output port and serial-parallel interface. The 0.8 micron CMOS Sea of Gate is used to implement the ASSP in amount of about 31,500 gates, and it is running at 14.318MHz.

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of a multi-processor based die bonder machine for the semiconductor will be described. This is a final research results carried out for two years from June, 1986 to July, 1988. The mechanical system consists of three subsystems such as bonding head module, wafer feeding module, and lead frame feeding module. The overall control system consists of the following three subsystems each of which employs a 16 bit microprocessor MC 68000 : (i) supervisory control system, (ii) visual recognition / inspection system and (iii) the display system. Specifically, the supervisory control system supervises the whole sequence of die bonder machine, performs a self-diagnostics while it controls the bonding head module according to the prespecified bonding cycle. The vision system recognizes the die to inspect the die quality and deviation / orientation of a die with respect to a reference position, while it controls the wafer feeding module. Finally, the display system performs a character display, image display ans various error messages to communicate with operator. Lead frame feeding module is controlled by this subsystem. It is reported that the proposed control system were applied to an engineering sample and tested in real-time, and the results are sucessful as an engineering sample phase.

  • Wireless sensor networks achieve environment monitoring and controlling through use of small devices of low cost and low power. Such network is comprised of several sensor nodes, each having a microprocessor, sensor, actuator and wired/wireless transceiver inside a small device. In this paper, we employ the sensor networks in order to design and implement a real-time vehicle safety system. Such system can inform the safe velocity in a specific weather condition to drivers in advance through analyzing the weather data collected from sensor networks. As a result, the drivers can prevent effectively accidents by controlling their car speed.

  • In this paper, for the purpose of constructing LAN(Local Area Network) with Token ring type Star-wired ring method, we implemented an in board network adapter and a concentrator using microprocessor. Using cconcentrato's communication controlling function, the concentator prevents a break of communication by by-passing the fault network adapter. Because, in the data transfer period, a concentrator recognized the network adapter at transmit and receiving side to construct single by -pass line and reduces ring latency time at both sides, this method can keep a high throughput in high and low load. Being considered the result of performance evaluation for the method our study employed, high throughput can be obtained.

  • An optimal Stabilization technique for a bilinear in duction model is introduced. This technique includes to o parts; the one is an stabilization control using Lyap unov Function which has the form of a sum of linear and quadratic function of the state variables, and the other is an optimal control using the performance index which depends on the choice of the elements of the Ly apunov matrices concerning both the state variables and the input variables. Therefore, induction motor is drived with the shorter transient time of the state variables and with the smaller overshoot of the ones, simulation results are obtained from a digital computer. Experimental ones are obtained from implementation of the optimizing controller using 8086 microprocessor kits and analog circuits are compared.

  • 본 논문에서는 마이크로프로세서의 기능을 수행하는 데 필수적이며 사용빈도가 높은 총 64개의 명령어를 정의한 후 이를 처리할 데이터패스를 구성해 스테이트 머쉰으로 제어하는 방식으로 실용적 8비트 마이크로프로세서를 VHDL로 설계를 하고 FPGA로 구현했다. 통상 마이크로프로세서 관련 논문에서는 기능적 시뮬레이션까지만 했거나, 인터럽트 기능이 없든지, 하드웨어로 구현을 하지 않았거나, 또는 개발 관련 내용이 자세히 제시되지 않았었다. 본 논문에서는 데이터 이동, 논리, 가산 연산뿐만 아니라 분기, 점프 연산도 실행할 수 있도록 해 연산 및 제어용도에 적합하도록 하였고, 스택, 외부 인터럽트 기능까지도 지원하도록 해 그 자체로서 완전한 실용적 마이크로프로세서가 되도록 하였다. 또한 프로그램 ROM까지도 칩 안에 넣어 전체 마이크로프로세서를 단일 칩으로 구현하였다. 타이밍 시뮬레이션으로 검증 후 제작 과정을 통해, 설계된 마이크로프로세서가 정상적으로 동작함을 확인하였다. Altera MAX+.PLUS II 통합개발환경 하에서 EP1K50TC144-3 FPGA 칩으로 구현을 하였고 최대 동작주파수는 9.39MHz까지 가능했고 사용한 로직 엘리먼트의 개수는 2813개로서 논리 사용률은 97%이었다.

  • In this paper, the implementation of a production control system has been studied in order to obtain Realtime Cost Calculation using an exact Machine Factor and Man Factor based on RFID reader data transferred through network. For the study, microprocessor built in the controller of production facilities is used and also RFID reader is built additionally. Control part, card reader used for check the beginning and ending working time of workers, and Machine Factor and Man Factor calculated are transferred to server via PLC transmission port, serial transmission port, or Ethernet transmission port. By using the system, the production cost or the production efficiency is calculated exactly. Therefore it is possible to improve production rate and cost reduction by the use of the proposed production control system.
