Analog Control Algorithm for Maximum Power Trackers Employed in Photovoltaic Applications

  • Tracking the Maximum Power Point (MPP) of a photovoltaic (PV) array is usually an essential part of a PV system. The problem addressed by Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques is to find the voltage $V_{MPP}$ or current $I_{MPP}$ at which a PV array should operate to generate the maximum power output $P_{MPP}$ under a given temperature and irradiance. MPPT control methods such as the perturb and observe method and the incremental conductance method require a microprocessor or DSP to determine if the duty cycle should be increased or not. This paper proposes a simple and fast analog MPPT method. The proposed control scheme tracks the MPP very quickly and its hardware implementation is simple when compared with the conventional techniques. The new algorithm can successfully track the MPP even in the case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. In addition, it has higher efficiency than ordinary algorithms.

  • In this paper we propose multi-functional telephone rejecting a simultaneous call at home or small office with several telephones in one line. Also we describe the protocol to transfer a call to the other telephone in different place with ease. So the proposed scheme can protect a personal privacy and provide the conveniency. Since the proposed phone is implemented with Holtek HT95C20P microprocessor, the most of functions can be easily changed accordance with user's needs.

  • A portable ECG sensor module and monitoring system which has the powerline noise reduction and the baseline wander removal is proposed. A small-szie ECG sensor H/W module with the 8-bits microprocessor is implemented. The ECG waveform can be inspected anytime with PDA in real time, and transmitted to the PC through wireless LAN. Portable ECG system can offer the environment that give the lasting medical service to the elderly and the long-time hospitalized patients at the wanted place, and the system can be attached to the chair, wheel chair, treadmill, elderly walker and used to monitor the health condition of man

  • Design procedure of adaptive controller with variable load condition is present and applied to velocity control of small, permanent magnet DC servo motor. The state feedback control scheme is adopted and Recursive Least Squares algorithm is used for parameter estimation. In order to reduce the time consuming. In the procedure of adaptation-gain tuning of state feedback controller, approximate curve fitting technique is applied to the relations between load condition and poles of the system, load condition and feedback gains. With this method, fast adaptation can be accomplished. It is shown that this procedure can be applied not only to variable load condition but also to variation of other system constants, for example variation of resistance and inductance etc.. Simulation results is present for both cases - variable inertia load, variable motor resistance to verify performance improvements. This design procedure produces an adaptive con troller which is feasible for implementation with microprocessor by reducing calculation time.

  • The ac servo system using an induction motor is so strong and inexpensive that it is most suitable for today's drive systems. For controlled ac motor drives, but slip frequency vector control system have been put to practical use, it is difficult to perform control of wide range, the same as de motor. A study is presented on an adaptive current control scheme for induction type ac servo motor drives using PWM inverter. An analysis of the control scheme in operations is given and the characteristics are studied by simulation. The implementation of the control scheme using a microprocessor-based system is considered.

  • In this paper, we suppose a fuzzy logic controller for cruise control of vehicle. Generally, fuzzy logic controller is known as a controller which can be coped with a non-linear and a complex system. The proposed fuzzy logic controller consists of three input variables; that is, a desired speed, a current vehicle speed, and a current acceleration, and one output variable, throttle angle. The supposed fuzzy logic controller is for engine speed control system is implemented on 80586 microprocessor with DT-2801.

  • Frequency is regarded as one of most important indices for the operating power systems. Several digital techniques for measuring frequency have been presented in the last decades. This paper proposes a design and implementation an adaptive scheme using phase angle difference calculation fort frequency measuring in power system. The advantages of the proposed technique are demonstrated by fault signals from EMTP simulation and user defined arbitrary signals by Excel program. The proposed technique is compared with the conventional methods. Performance teat results indicate that the proposed technique provides accurate measures in pretence of noise and harmonics and in case faults and is suitable for measurement near-nominal, nominal. and off-nominal frequencies. We can see that It will be useful in microprocessor based relays and digital metiers that need to measure power system frequency.

  • This disseration realized the simple digital controller board using ${\mu}$-PD 70320 microprocessor has characteristics that are low cost, simple hardware organization, convenient and interchangeable with the 8086 for the servo system. We gave the control algorithm such as PD control. Self tuning adaptive control and Fuzzy control to the realized controller board and made a new real number data type for a high accuracy control. Users can select of suitable for the control algorithim. In the result of simulation and experiment shown a good performance.

  • UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) have been used to improve power source quality as well as to protect critical loads such as computer, industrial system, medical equipment, etc, by providing clean and uninterrupted power under power supply disturbance or interruptions. But UPS is bulky because batteries. So, a UPS size issue has received the attention in the power electronics industry. This paper proposed an implementation of the computer power supply with a bulit-in UPS controlled by the one-chip microprocessor to minimize UPS size. The experimental results verified the proposed SMPS with a bulit-in UPS for computer.

  • In this paper, were developed the 3 axes attitude control sensor system to control and monitoring the moving object. The proposed sensor system has been studied in Japan, America for a year ago. But it is high expensive and has a difficulty in application. To overcome these problems, proposed the 3 axes attitude control sensor system is low cost and easily applied. Proposed sensor system is equipped with the 3 gyro sensors, 2 tilt sensors and 3 MR sensors using 80C51 microprocessor for signal processing. It's output value transmit at long distance using RS232 serial communication protocol. We expect this system shall have a good performances in many applications of control and monitoring the moving object.
