3D 프린터 기반 수직형 마이크로 모션 스테이지의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of 3D Printer based Piezo-driven Vertical Micro-positioning Stage)

  • This paper presents the development of a 3D printer based piezo-driven vertical micro-positioning stage. The stage consists of two flexure bridge structures which amplify and transfer the horizontal motion of the piezo-element into vertical motion of the end-effector. The stage is fabricated with ABS material using a precision 3D printer. This enables a one-body design eliminating the need for assembly, and significantly increases the freedom in design while shortening fabrication time. The design of the stage was optimized using response surface analysis method. Experimental results are presented which demonstrate 100nm stepping in the vertical out-of-plane direction. The results demonstrate the future possibilities of applying 3D printers and ABS material in fabricating linear driven motion stages.

Research of Phase Correlation Method for Identifying Quantitative Similarity in Adjacent Real-time Streaming Frame

  • To minimize the damage by wild birds and acquire the benefits such as protection against weeds and maintenance of water content in soil, the mulching black color vinyl after seeding should be carried out. Non-contact and non-destructive methods that can continuously determine the locations are necessary. In this study, a crop position detection method was studied that uses infrared thermal image sensor to determine the cotyledon position under vinyl mulch. The moving system for acquiring image arrays has been developed for continuously detecting crop locations under plastic mulching on the field. A sliding mechanical device was developed to move the sensor, which were arranged in the form of a linear array, perpendicular to the array using a micro-controller integrated with a stepping motor. The experiments were conducted while moving 4.00 cm/s speed of the IR sensor by the rotational speed of the stepping motor based on a digital pulse width modulation signal from the micro-controller. The acquired images were calibrated with the spatial image correlation. The collected data were processed using moving averaging on interpolation to determine the frame where the variance was the smallest in resolution units of 1.02 cm. Non-linear integral interpolation was one of method for analyzing the frequency using the normalization image and then arbitrarily increasing the limited data value of $16{\times}4pixels$ in one frame. It was a method to relatively reduce the size of overlapping pixels by arbitrarily increasing the limited data value. The splitted frames into 0.1 units instead of 1 pixel can propose more than 10 times more accurate and original method than the existing correction method. The non-integral calibration method was conducted by applying the subdivision method to the pixels to find the optimal correction resolution based on the first reversed frequency. In order to find a correct resolution, the expected location of the first crop was indicated on near pixel 4 in the inversion frequency. For the most optimized resolution, the pixel was divided by 0.4 pixel instead of one pixel to find out where the lowest frequency exists.

3D 프린터를 사용한 정밀 스테이지의 제작 (Fabrication of Piezo-Driven Micropositioning Stage using 3D printer)

  • This paper presents the design, optimization and fabrication of a piezo driven micro-positioning stage constructed using a 3D-printer. 3D printing technology provides many advantageous aspects in comparison to traditional manufacturing techniques allowing more rapid prototyping freedom in design, etc. Micro-positioning stages have traditionally been made using metal materials namely aluminum. This paper investigates the possibility of fabricating stages using ABS material with a 3D printer. CAE simulations show that equivalent motion amplification can be achieved compared to a traditional aluminum fabricated stage while the maximum stress is 30 times less. This leads to the possibility of stages with higher magnification factors and less load on the driving piezo element. Experiment results agree with the simulation results. A micro-position stage was fabricated using a 3D printer with ABS material. The motion amplification is very linear and 50 nm stepping was demonstrated.

전자 디스펜서용 단일 칩 제어기 설계 (Design of an One-Chip Controller for an Electronic Dispenser)

  • 본 논문에서는 전자 디스펜서(dispenser)용 제어기를 단일 칩으로 설계하였다. 전자 디스펜서는 전자부분과 기계부분으로 구성되며, 전자부분은 이력 키패드, 제어기, 디스플레이 모듈과 펌프모듈로 구성된다. 본 논문에서 설계한 제어기는 LCD 소자와 모터 펌프를 제어하며 VHDL을 이용하여 설계하였다. LCD 소자로서 WX12864AP1을 사용하였으며, 스테핑 모터로는 SPS20을 사용하였다. 이 제어기는 Altera사의 Quartus 툴을 사용하여 설계 후, Agent 2000 설계 키트와 APEX20K 소자를 사용하여 LCD 모듈과 모터모듈에 연결하여 동작 검증함으로, 동작이 원활히 이루어짐을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서는 전자 디스펜서의 제어기 설계를 통해 전자 디스펜서의 전용 칩을 ASIC으로 구현하여 바이오기술 분야의 기기에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.

  • 관측위성으로부터 획득된 영상데이터를 지상국에 효율적으로 전송하기 위해 2축 짐벌 형태의 지향성 X-band 안테나가 적용되고 있으며, 안테나의 고속 정밀지향성 확보를 위해 구비된 모터 및 기어 간의 부정확한 맞물림으로부터 발생되는 미소진동은 영상품질 저하의 원인으로 작용한다. 고해상도 관측위성의 지향성능 향상을 통한 고해상도 영상정보 획득을 위해서는 안테나 구동시 발생하는 미소진동이 주요 임무장비에 전달되지 않도록 미소진동 절연이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 X-band 안테나의 미소진동절연을 목적으로 의탄성 SMA 메쉬와셔 진동 절연기를 제안하였으며, 정하중 시험을 통해 진동 절연기의 기본 특성을 확인하였다. 또한, X-band 안테나의 미소진동 시험을 통해 진동절연기 유무에 따른 진동절연성능을 비교 및 분석 하였다.

자동 광 정렬시스템 및 최적 광 정렬알고리즘의 개발 (Development of Automatic Optical Fiber Alignment System and Optimal Aligning Algorithm)

  • Optical fibers are indispensable fer optical communication systems that transmit large volumes of data at high speed. But the aligning technology under the sub-micron accuracy is required for the precise axis adjustment and connection. For the purpose of precise alignment of the optical arrays, in this research, we have developed the 12-axis(with 8 automated axis and 4 manual axis) automatic optical fiber alignment system including the image processing-based searching system, the automatic loading system using the robot and the suction toot and the automatic UV bonding system. In order to obtain the sub-micron alignment accuracy, two 4-axis PC-based motion controllers and the two 50nm resolution 6-aixs micro-stage actuated by micro stepping motors are adopted. The fiber aligning procedure consists of two steps. Firstly, the optical wave guide and an input optical array are aligned by the 6-axis input micro-stage with the IR camera. The image processing technique is introduced to reduce primary manual aligning time and result in achieving the 50% decrease of aligning time. Secondly, the IR camera is replaced by the output micro-stage and a wave guide and two optical arrays are aligned simultaneously before the laser power intensity delivered to the optical powermeter reached the threshold value. When the aligning procedure is finished, the wave guide and arrays are W bonded. The automatic loading/unloading system is also introduced and the entire wave guide handing time is reduced significantly compared to the former commercial aligning system.

Research on Development of a Wide Range Velocity Control Method of Small Size DC Motor for Portable Drug Delivery System

  • Small size DC motor control method for portable drug delivery system has been developed to be used for the actuator of insulins pump. The control method gives the controllabilities both in high speed(40-50 revolution per second(rps)) DC motor drive and also in low speed(0.5-1rps). In low speed mode DC motor is controlled to act like stepping motor and in high speed to optimize power consumption. To control both mode modified bang bang control is suggested. Using this method small size DC motor(spec.) speed is controlled from 0.2 rps to 50 rps. Experimental setup is developed using micro-processor(PIC16C73, Micro Chips co., USA), motor turns checking circuitry, small size DC motor for pager(SM1012, Samhong co., Korea) and gear box. Results from experiment meet need for vailable load condition which is require for portable drug delivery system.

  • A precision planting system using computer controlled technology for mulching cultivation was developed and tested . The system consisting of a micro-computer, several optical fiber sensors and control actuators realized the mechanization of the precision planting operation. The film hole positions, existences of a seed on shutter were detected and the planting speed was measured. The shutter opening mechanism and a seed metering device driven by a stepping motor were controlled, automatically . The planting timing of the shutter opening mechanism were analyzed from a video camera motion analysis, theoretically. The results showed a sufficient accuracy of a seed planted into the center a film hole with a variety of planting speeded. The gravity point positions in film hole of seeds planted by the system just were within the area of +-5mm of the hole center when the hole diameter was 40mm.

  • In this study, the control of mounting system for MLGA package was developed using machine vision for the control of rotating position compensation and mounting position of X-Y table. Two type of material (polymer, alumina )were used for the dielectric insulator of the MLGA. And the illumination system and the algorithm of position compensation that be suitable for these materials was developed. Also, the position control order that compensated by machine vision actuated to micro stepping motor and X-Y servo motor by controlled PC and mounted the MLGA on PCB in resolution to$\pm10\mum$ .

  • Hybrid type LPM can be widely applied in the precise position controlled devic because precise linear motion can be directly obtained by the simple control circuit without backlash in the rotary-type stepping motor. Also, LPM can increase the Position resolution, which was limited by mechanical manufacturing limit and characteristic of magnetic material. using micro-step drive method to decrease the noise and vibration further. Especially, Double-side LPM may be replaced the solenoid as the valve driving device without difficulty and give full play to control the valve accurately. Hence, In this paper, magnetic circuit of double-side LPM was confirmed and static thrust force curve according to the relative displacement between stator and mover, was analyzed by the two dimensional finite element method. From this results, we can suppose the excitation current to be controlled optimally.
