Development of an Ultra Precision Hydrostatic Guideway Driven by a Coreless Linear Motor

  • In order to develop the hydrostatic guideways driven by a core less linear motor for ultra precision machine tools, a prototype of guideway is designed and tested. A coreless linear DC motor with a continuous force of 156 N and a laser scale with a resolution of 0.01 ㎛ are used in the system. Experimental analysis on the static stiffness, motion errors, positioning error and its repeatability, micro step response and velocity variation of the guideway are performed. The guideway shows infinite stiffness within 50 N applied load in the feed direction, and by the motion error compensation method using the Active Controlled Capillary, 0.08 ㎛ linear motion error and 0.1 arcsec angular motion error are acquired. The guideway also reveals 0.21 ㎛ positioning error and 0.09 ㎛ repeatability, and it shows stable responses following a 0.01 ㎛ resolution step command. The velocity variation of feeding system is less than 0.6 %. From these results, it is estimated that the hydrostatic guideway driven by a coreless linear motor is very useful for the ultra precision machine tools.

  • 최근 포유동물의 유전체에는 알려진 것보다 훨씬 많은 RNA 전사체가 발현되고 있음이 밝혀지고 있으며, 그 중에 많은 부분이 non-coding RNA로 알려지고 있다. 세포 내에서 non-coding RNA의 기능이 훨씬 다양해지고, 중요해지고 있는 상황에서 새로운 non-coding RNA를 정의하고, 탐색하는 것은 가장 시급한 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 이전 연구에서 RNA 공통 구조 학습을 위해 제안되었던, esRCSG (evolutionary search for RNA common-structural grammar) 알고리즘의 성능 향상을 위해, committee machine을 도입한다. Committee machine은 마지막 세대에서 최적화된 RNA 공통 구조 기술자 (RCSD)와 차상위로 최적화된 기술자들 중 양성데이터와 음성데이터의 치역을 합쳤을 때 특이도는 거의 변화가 없으면서 민감도의 증가가 가장 큰 기술자들의 집합이다. Committee machine은 특히 family type의 서열의 가진 특정 ncRNA에서 좋은 성능 향상을 보인다. microRNA를 이용한 성능평가에서 특이도의 변화가 거의 없이 민감도의 성능이 약 1.5배 향상되는 결과를 보였다. 이러한 특이도와 민감도가 높은 기술자를 이용함으로써 새로운 non-coding RNA를 예측하는 것을 약속할 수 있을 것이다.

  • This paper presents mathematical models for high speed permanent-magnet synchronous machine. The mathematical method with two successive steps is used to estimate design parameter as well as the output power. At first, mathematical model for a linkage flux problem is employed to calculate the number of winding turns and stack length of armature core. The magnetic circuit model for an induced voltage and the electric circuit model for a current are modeled. The output powers of the electrical generator were evaluated by the mathematical techniques. The results of this mathematical methods predict the specifications of the machine and can be applied in the design stage of the electrical machine.

  • Electric discharging machining (EDM) is commonly adopted to machine the precise and tiny part when it is difficult to meet the productivity and the tolerance by the conventional cutting method. The die-sinking EDM method works well to machine the micro-parts and the perpendicular wall of die and mould, whereas EDM drilling, called super drill, is excellent to machine the deep and narrow hole regardless the material hardness and the hole location. However, the electrode wear is rapid compared to the conventional cutting tool and makes it difficult to control the electrode feeding and to machine precisely. This paper presents an efficient method to estimate the electrode wear using hole pass-through experiment while the stochastic method is used to compensate for the estimation model. To validate the proposed method, the commercial EDM drill machine is used. The experiment result shows that the electrode wear amount can be predicted very precisely.

  • This paper proposes a study on the spherical lens manufacturing by simultaneous 3 axis for NC lathe. We use friction drive system for moving system in experimental diamond turing machine. The diamond turning machine use manufacturing for high quality lens, mirror and many optics products. Especially, the high tech industry require a lot of lens. For example, optical engineering. medical science, space engineering and material engineering etc. The friction drive system is very simple and quiet, compared to ball screw system. We find a problem at the simultaneous 3 axis and suggest a solution. Also, when we manufactured a micro lens. find a problem and solution.

  • In this study, a new technology to bond the PZT with connection board, which is a core technology for the fabrication of medical micro high frequency sensors, was developed. Two technologies were adopted. One is bonding of In using thermal heating, he other is bonding of Pb using a high frequency heating machine. In case of thermal eating, bonding was failed because of the contaminations of In surface. But, when using high frequency healing machine, we developed good bonding characteristics at various experimental conditions and thickness of the electrode material.

  • In this paper, the accurate end position control method of ultraprecision machine tool post using piezoelectric material as an micro positonong devics is presented. This method employs the classical PID feedback and uses an additional notch filter which eliminates the resonance characteristics of controlled plant. And the simple predictor is added to make use of the future value of desired input for better tracking performance. To show the feasibilty of proposed method, the PC-based experimental apparacy can be obtained. Using method, Al specimen of diameter 100mm was cut under practical machining condition to test the practicability of proposed method.

  • The study on the high-speed machine tool is very important for the improvement of productivity since it can shortens cutting and non-cutting time. Especially, high speed of feed drive system is the major research field. In the industries of the advanced countries, the feed drive systems at the speed of 60 m/min have been already developed based on the high lead ball screws. In this study, a high speed feed drive system at the speed of 60 m/ min has been developed, and its movements characteris-tics are investigated. As the movement characteristics, positioning accuracy, angular accuracy, straightness and micro step-response are measured. Thermal characteristics of the system is also discussed. For measuring the movement characteris-tics, a laser interferometer, a memory-based Hi-coder and a cooling device are used. The experimental results confirm that the movement characteristics and the thermal behavior of the system are satisfactory in the aspect of accuracy and stability.
