Two species of small gobiid fishes genus Luciogobius, i.e., L. elongatus, L. platycephalus were described as the first records from Korea based on specimens collected from gravel beaches of Gijang-gun, Busan-si, Korea. Luciogobius elongatus is distinguished from congeners by very elongated and naked body, 42-44 vertebrae, 6-7 dorsal soft rays, and no free rays on pectoral fin, and L. platycephalus is characterized by having very depressed head, naked body, 40-41 vertebrae, 10-11 dorsal soft rays, and pectoral fin with only upper 2-4 free rays. We propose the new Korean name "Ga-neun-mi-kkeun-mang-dug", "Nab-jak-mi-kkeun-mang-dug" for L. elongatus and L. platycephalus, respectively.

This study explains the han-ok. in Gae-sung, which was antique and traditional city. In view of the fact that these were located in Gae-sung in North Korea hence direct investigate is not possible. Since there was no comprehensive study of Gaeseong han-ok, we have no choice but to rely on fragmentary records and memory of Gaeseong people. In accordance from the Japanese colonial era's surveys and sketches as well as how they were illustrated in the novel. Hark back to the peoples' thought of the han-ok years when they ran the survey in 1920s, the results were as follows: First, there are many houses so various classes in Mi-Mang. Jeon Cheo-man's house was a representative example of a rich family in Gae-sung, Jeon Je-seong(Jeon's 2^nd son)'s house was located in Si-jeon(government licensed-markets) near by the South gate. In particular, Jeon Yi-seong(Jeon's 3rd son)'s house was in rural areas. He managed on immense ginseng field and worker's houses. Hae-ju's house was a small house off the track. Second, the outer house is low and the main house is high and neat. Lastly, it was confirmed that it corresponded to sketches recorded by architects, such as neat housekeeping, long stones used for various purposes, invisible flat gates, the appearance of old and old houses and the composition of each room.

1. Objective To investigate characteristics of menstrual patterns according to Sasang Constitutional disease, and to utilize for diagnosis and treatment of Sasang Constitutional disease. 2. Method The recruited subjects were 430 women who convinced their Sasang Constitution by taking herbal medicine and improving of chief complaint. The items of data contain age at menarche, age at menopause, menstrual cycle, menstrual duration, cyclic regularity of menstruation, severity of menstrual pain, the worst day of menstrual pain, type of menstrual pain, amount of menstruation. 3. Results 1) Severity of menstrual pain, the worst day of menstrual pain, menstrual pain accompanied with nausea were significant among Sasang Constitutional diseases. 2) In Bae-chu-pyo-byeong disease (背椎表病證), Wi-wan-han disease (胃院寒證), So-eum disease (少陰證) and Tae-eum disease (太陰證), menstrual pain was severer than other diseases. 3) In Hae-yeok disease and So-yang-sang-pung disease (少陽傷風證), the worst day of menstrual pain was a day before menstruation. In Hyung-gyeok-yeol disease (胸膈熱證), Tae-eum disease (太陰證), So-eum disease (少陰證), the frequency of a day after menstruation in the worst day of menstrual pain was higher than other diseases. In Wi-wan-han disease (胃院寒證), Mang-yang disease (亡陽證), the frequency of two day after menstruation in the worst day of menstrual pain was higher than other diseases. 4) In So-yang-sang-pung disease (少陽傷風證), Mang-eum disease (亡陰證), Eum-heo-o-yeol diasese (陰虛午熱證), Ul-gwang disease (鬱狂證), Tae-eum disease (太陰證), So-eum disease (少陰證), the frequency of menstrual pain accompanied with nausea were higher than other diseases. 4. Conclusion Menstrual patterns, especially menstrual pain is different among Sasang Constitutional diseases. Assessing menstrual pain can be used for diagnosing Sasang Constitutional diseases, deciding treatment course, determinating prognosis.

This study was carried out to investigate growth response of Chamecereus silvestrii 'Hee-Mang' in accordance to day and night temperature in winter season. The plant height was maximized at $20/15^{\circ}C$ (day/night). Globe height and diameter were the highest in the day temperature of $25^{\circ}C$. Globe diameter was relevant high by increasing day temperature. Hunter 'a' value is significantly lower by decreasing of night temperature whereas 'b' value is higher. Characteristic of de-rooted grafting cactus was continually decreased until 15 days, then started growth again.

■ Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report the effectiveness of Korean medicine in the treatment of chronic hyperhidrosis. ■ Methods The patient was diagnosed as a Soeumin Mang-yang Syndrome, and treated with Korean medical treatment such as Sungyangikgibuja-tang and acupuncture treatment. The severity of symptom was assessed using Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and follow-up of Hyperhidrosis Quality of Life Index (HidroQOL) ■ Results After treatment, the severity of hyperhidrosis was decreased from NRS 10 to NRS 2, HidroQOL score was also decreased from 32 to 19. ■ Conclusion Korean medical treatment for hyperhidrosis was effective in decreasing the NRS and HidroQOL score. The results suggest that Korean medical combined treatment including Sungyangikgibuja-tang and acupuncture treatment can be a effective option for treating hyperhidrosis.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang, which is based on the Sasang constitutional medicine, for the patient who has suffered from Urinary Disturbance. Methods A 29 year-old woman who suffered from Urinary Disturbance but had no significant organic lesion, was enrolled in this study. The patient had the symptoms including urinary incontinence, pollakiuria, painful urination, discomfort after urinating, general body weakness, chilling sign, and abdominal pain. We diagnosed her as Soeumin Yang Depletion pattern and treated with Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang. Results After 12 days of admission treatment with Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang, remarkable improvement was seen on her total number of urination and the Qualiveen Questionnaire score. Conclusions This clinical case indicates that Soeumin's Bojungikgi-tang is effective in treatment of a Soeumin Mang-yang Syndrome, including Urinary Disturbance.

Platelet anti-aggregating activities were evaluated with three combined crude drug preparations which have been used for 'eahyul'-one of the pathological concept in oriental medicine presumably concerning blood stasis or stagnant syndrome. The water extract of each combined preparation and each component plant was tested for their effects against ADP, arachidonic acid (AA) or collagen induced rat platelet aggregations. Mild inhibitory activities were observed with all the three tested preparations, Kaechibokryung-Hwan, Dangkqijakyak-San and Ohnkyung-Tang, and the component plants which are included in at least two of the above preparations.

The catalytic enantioselective electrophilic fluorinations of active methane compounds promoted chiral palladium complexes have been developed. Treatment of α-cyano acetates and α-cyanoalkylphosphonates with N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide as the fluorine source under mild reaction conditions afforded the corresponding α-cyano-α-fluorinated adducts in high yields with excellent enantiomeric excesses (up to 99% ee). These reactions can be conducted in alcoholic solvents without any precaution to exclude water and moisture.

A hypogean gobiid, Luciogobius pallidus was described as the first record from Korea and also as the westernmost record of the species from the world, based on four specimens (31.2~53.6 mm SL) collected from Jeju Island, Korea. The species is characterized by having yellowish orange body color with I, 10~11 second dorsal fin rays, I, 10~12 anal fin rays, 13~15 pectoral fin rays, and 36 vertebrae as well as small embedded eyes beneath the skin. A new Korean name, "Juhong-mi-ggeun-mang-dug" was proposed for the species.

Ten specimens of Luciogobius parvulus (42.8~49.0 mm SL) were collected from the coast of Wando-gun, Chollanam-do, Korea. This species is characterized by having 10~11 second dorsal fin rays, 11~13 anal fin rays, 11~12 pectoral fin rays, pelvic fin rays and free rays on pectoral fin absent. All specimens were collected from intertidal zone, rocky shore with gravel. It burrowed among moistened sediment composed of pebble. We propose the new Korean name, "Min-mi-kken-mang-dug", for the species.
