마이크로파 소자응용을 위한 YBCO 박막의 두께 및 증착온도에 관한 특성연구 (Thickness and Orientation Effect on the YBCO Thin Films For Microwave Device Applications)

  • The effect of the superconducting film thickness on the surface resistance has been investigated. Superconducting YBCO thin films have been grown on MgO substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The dependence of the orientation of YBCO film on thickness has been investigated by X-ray diffraction technique. X-ray diffraction indicated that the film orientation was changed by increasing the film thickness and by changing the substrate temperature. The microwave properties of the films with mixed orientations of a-axis and c-axis will be reported for the applications of microwave devices.

  • A periplasmic endoprotease, named protease Pi, was purified to homogeneity from Escherkchia coli by conventional procedure with insulin as substrate. This enzyme degrades insulin and glucagon to trichloroacetic acid-soluble meterials, but shows little or no hydrolysis of bovine serum albumin, casein or globin. Its molecular weight was 110, 000 when determined by gel filtration on Sephacryl S-300 and was 105, 000 when estimated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate. Thus, it appears to be single polypeptide. This snzyme is metalloprotease, since it is completely inhibited by o-phenanthroline and can be activated by addition of divalent metal cations, such as $Mg^{2+}\;and\;Co^{2+}$. It is destinct from protease Ci, a cytoplasmic insulin degrading enzyme, since protease Pi is localized to the periplasm. Since protease Pi selectively degrades GTP cyclohydrolase I, it appears to play a role in the regulation of pteridine biosynthesis.

Enterobacter sp. JE-1에 의한 Congo Red의 생분해

  • The bacterial strain JE-1 degrading and utilizing Congo Red as a sole carbon source was isolated from dye-contaminated soul and Identified as Enterobacter species. Enterobacter sp. JE-1 had the highesc decolorization ability when It was cultured In the medium containing 0.05% $NH_4N0_3, 0.05% K_2HP0_4, 0. 03%$ $MgSO_4$, $7H_2O$, 0.025% Congo Red, initial pH 7.0 at $30^{\circ}C$, respectively Enterobacter sp. n-1 had the relatively high substrate specificity. The dye decolorizing activity was exclusively extracellular. The expected metabolic intermediates of Congo Red by Enterobacter sp.15-1 were analyzed by GC/MS. As a result. metabolic products like hauadecanoic acid, 1, 2, 3-triphenylcyclopropene, aliphatic hydrocarbons butylester were detected. Benzldine 616 not detected.

  • In this paper, We report the miniaturization of superconducting microwave power dividers based on lumped element equivalent circuits. To do this, we analyzed a conventional branch-type power divider by using an ABCD matrix under even and odd mode excitation. Then, we calculated each lumped element impedance throughout this analysis of a transmission line matrix. Also we simulated our equivalent circuits made of lumped elements by using a full wave analysis, em Sonnet. Our deign of microwave power divider based on simulated results was fabricated on high-$T_c$ superconducting thin films deposited on MgO substrate. Experimental results were reported in terms of bandwidth, center frequency, and phase difference between $S_{21}$ and $S_{31}$. We confirm that our design will be useful in the future microwave power systum.

  • Enterobacter sp. producing -$\beta$-galactosidase with high transgalactosylation activity was isolated from dairy wastewater. The isolate had common biochemical features to E. aerogenes and E. cloacae. Enzyme production increased as the cell mass increased with optimum enzyme activity of 0.21 Unit/mg-protein (o-nitro-phenyl-$\beta$ -D-galactoside (ONPG) as substrate) until 8 hr of culture. Whole cells permeabilized by toluene were used to produce galacto-oligosaccharide. Optimum toluene concentration, temperature and pH for -$\beta$-galactosidase activity of permeabilized whole cells were 10% (v/v), $50^{\circ}C$ and 6.0, respectively. A maximum of 38% (w/w) of galacto-oligosaccharide was obtained with lactose concentration of 20% (w/w) at $40^\{\circ}C$ and pH 6.0.

  • The magnetic properties and structure of FeRh thin film pitaxially grown onto MgO(001) substrate were studied by MPMS(Magnetic Properties Measure System) and in-situ temperature synchrotron XRD(X-ray Diffraction). The transition temperature of FeRh thin films was around 380K. Both M-T curve and d-spacing changes correspond to each other very closely.

  • Mullite and cordierite were prepared by the sol-gel route. Boehmite, fumed silica and Mg(NO3)2$.$6H2O were their starting materials. Mullite and cordierite powder were mixed by various weight percent. These mixed sols were ball-milled for 48hrs, dried at 100$^{\circ}C$, pressed, cold isostatic pressed and sintered at 1490$^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs. Mullite-cordierite composites sintered at 1490$^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs had>98% of theoretical density. Bending strength of the sintered bodies were 329-249MPa, dielectric constant 7.1-6.7 at 1MHz and thermal expansion coefficient at 800$^{\circ}C$ was matched with Si in the range of 30-35wt% cordierite.

High-temperature superconducting filter and filter subsystem for mobile telecommunication

  • Large-area high-temperature superconducting (HTS) films, filter design and damage-free processing technique have been developed to fabricate low insertion loss and sharp skirt filters. Further, long life cryocooler, low temperature low noise amplifier (LNA) and cryocable have been developed to assemble HTS filter subsystem for IS-95 and IMT-2000 mobile telecommunication. The surface resistance of the films was about 0.2 milli-ohm at 70 K, 12 GHz. An 11-pole HTS filter for IS-95 telecommunication system and a 16-pole HTS filter for IMT-2000 telecommunication system were designed and fabricated using 60 {\times}$ 50 mm$^2$ and one half of 3-inch diameter YBCO films on a 0.5-mm-thick MgO substrate, respectively. We have assembled the filter and low temperature LNA in a dewar with the cryocooler. Ultra low-noise (noise figure: 0.5 dB at 70 K) and ultra sharp-skirt (40 dB/1.5 MHz) performance was presented by the IS-95 filter subsystem and the IMT-2000 filter subsystem, respectively.

  • This paper presents the optimized design, fabrication and thermal characteristics of micro-heaters for thermal MEMS (micro elelctro mechanical system) applications usign SOI (Si-on-insulator) and trench structures. The micro-heater is based on a thermal measurement principle and contains for thermal isolation regions a 10㎛ thick Si membrane with oxide-filled trenches in the SOI membrane rim. The micro-heater was fabricated with Pt-RTD (resistance thermometer device) on the same substrate by suing MgO as medium layer. The thermal characteristics of the micro-heater wit the SOI membrane is 280$\^{C}$ at input power 0.9W; for the SOI membrane with 10 trenches, it is 580$\^{C}$ due to reduction of the external thermal loss. Therefore, the micro-heater with trenches in SOI membrane rim provides a powerful and versatile alternative technology for improving the performance of micro-thermal sensors and actuators.

  • Trichoderma viride 16374호(號) Cellulase에 의(依)한 목재가수분해(木材加水分解)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)로서 재료(材料)는 산오리나무재(材)를 사용(使用)하였다. 효소생산(酵素生産)은 액체(液體) 진탕배양법(振盪培養法)에 의(依)하였다. 즉(即) 밀기울 추출액(抽出液)에 Pulp분말(粉末)(Toyo여지(濾紙) 60 mesh) 10, $KH_2PO_410$, $(NH_4)_2$ $SO_4$ 3, $NaNO_3$ 3, $MgSO_4$ $7H_2O$ 0.5g/1을 가(加)하였다. 이와 같이 하여 진탕배양(振盪培養)한 후(後) 배양액(培養液)을 취(取)하여 유안포화도(硫安飽和度)에 의(依)한 염석조효소액(鹽析粗酵素液)을 만들었다. 환원당정량(還元糖定量)은 DNS법(法)에 의(依)하였다. (1) 탈(脫)리그닌은 외산(外山)(1970)의 과초산법(過醋酸法)에 의(依)하였다. 여기서 과초산(過醋酸)의 농도(濃度)가 높을수록 단기간(短期間)에 Pulp수율(收率)은 감소(減少)하였다. 즉(即) 20% 과초산액(過醋酸液)으로 처리(處理)한 시료(試料)는 48시간(時間)에, 40% 및 6% 과초산액(過醋酸液)으로 처리(處理)한 시료(試料)는 24시간(時間)이면 충분(充分)한 탈(脫)리그닌이되었다. (2) 기질(基質)은 징세(徵細)할수록 효소(酵素)에 의(依)한 가수분해(加水分解)가 용이(容易)하였으며 환원당생성(還元糖生成)에 적합(適合)한 기질(基質)의 크기는 60-100mesh로 나타났다. (3) 기질(基質)의 건조온도(乾燥溫度)는 높을수록 환원당생성량(還元糖生成量)이 증가(增加)하였으며, 여기서는 건조온도(乾燥溫度)가 $190{\pm}5^{\circ}C$에서 가장 많은 당생성(糖生成)이 나타났다. (4) 기질(基質)의 열처리시간(熱處理時間)이 가장 적당한 것은 45분(分)으로 나타났다. 그리고 45분(分)과 60분간(分間) 열처리(熱處理)한 기질(基質)의 환원당(還元糖) 생성량(生成量)에는 유의차(有意差)가 인정(認定)되지 않았다.
