액츄에이터용 PMW-PNN-PZT 세라믹스의 압전특성 (Piezoelectric Characteristics of PMW-PNN-PZT Ceramics for Actuator Application)

  • In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering piezoelectric actuator, $Pb(Mg_{1/2}W_{1/2})_{0.03}(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_x(Zr_{0.50},Ti_{0.50})_{1-x-0.03}$ (PMW-PNN-PZT) ceramic systems were fabricated using $CaCO_3-Li_2CO_3$ sintering aid and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated with the variation of PNN substitution. The piezoelectric actuator requires high piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ and high electromechanical coupling factor kp. At the PMW-PNN-PZT ceramics with 9mol% PNN substitution sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, the density, electromechanical coupling factor kp, dielectric constant, piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ and mechanical quality factor Qm showed the excellent values of 7.86 [$g/cm^3$], 0.584, 1881, 485 [pC/N] and 76, respectively for piezoelectric actuator application.

A safe and cost-effective PMMA carbon source for MgB2

  • Carbon is proven to be very effective in pinning the magnetic vortices and improving the superconducting performance of $MgB_2$ at high fields. In this work, we have used polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) polymer as a safe and cost effective carbon source. The effects of molecular weight of PMMA on crystal structure, microstructure as well as on superconducting properties of $MgB_2$ were studied. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that there is a noticeable shift in (100) and (110) Bragg reflections towards higher angles, while no shift was observed in (002) reflections for $MgB_2$ doped with different molecular weights of PMMA. This indicates that carbon could be substituted in the boron honeycomb layers without affecting the interlayer interactions. As compared to undoped $MgB_2$, substantial enhancement in $J_c(H)$ properties was obtained for PMMA-doped $MgB_2$ samples both at 5 K and 20 K. The enhancement could be attributed to the effective carbon substitution for boron and the refinement of crystallite size by PMMA doping.

  • 마이크로웨이브 Mg-Mn훼라이트에서 비자성 이온인 알루미늄으로 Fe 이온을 치환하여 포화자화를 낮출 수 있다. 이것은 마이크로웨이브 훼라이트의 사용 주파수 영역의 확장을 위해 필요하다. 이때 다른 특성의 변화가 수반되는 것은 검토해 봐야 할 점중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 MgO: MnO : $Fe_2O_3$를 1.0:0.1:0.95몰비로 제조한 마이크로 웨이브 훼라이트[화학식:$(MgO)_{1.0}(MnO)_{0.1}(Al_xFe_{1.9-x}O_{2.85}$]에서 AI을 0.1에서 0.4까지 첨가한 경우의 전기적.자기적 특성을 미세조직과 아울러 조사하였다. 포화자화 값은 첨가량에 따라 감소하였으며 강자성공명 선폭도 마찬가지였다. $H_c$ 값은 첨가량 0.2이상에서 103.48A/m(1.3Oe)이하로 나타났으며 각형비는 모두 우수하였다. 공명자기장은 첨가량에 따라 거의 변화가 없었다. 이상고 같은 실험결과로부터 적절한 조성범위에서 각각의 물성을 조합하여 넓은 범위의 마이크로웨이브 소자에 응용할 수 있는 제반 물성을 얻을 수 있었다.

Eu2+/Dy3+ 이온이 도핑된 Sr2MgSi2O7 분말 합성 및 발광 특성 (Synthesis and Luminescent Characterization of Eu2+/Dy3+-Doped Sr2MgSi2O7 Powders)

  • $Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$-doped $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7$ powders were synthesized using a solid-state reaction method with flux ($NH_4Cl$). The broad photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ were assigned to the $4f^7-4f^65d$ transition of the $Eu^{2+}$ ions, showing strong intensities in the range of 375 to 425 nm. A single emission band was observed at 470 nm, which was the result of two overlapping subbands at 468 and 507 nm owing to Eu(I) and Eu(II) sites. The strongest emission intensity of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}$ was obtained at the Eu concentration of 3 mol%. This concentration quenching mechanism was attributable to dipole-dipole interaction. The $Ba^{2+}$ substitution for $Sr^{2+}$ caused a blue-shift of the emission band; this behavior was discussed by considering the differences in ionic size and covalence between $Ba^{2+}$ and $Sr^{2+}$. The effects of the Eu/Dy ratios on the phosphorescence of $Sr_2MgSi_2O_7:Eu^{2+}/Dy^{3+}$ were investigated by measuring the decay time; the longest afterglow was obtained for $0.01Eu^{2+}/0.03Dy^{3+}$.

MOD-processed YBCO coated conductor on the IBAD-MgO template

  • We report the results of MOD-processed YBCO coated conductors on the IBAD-MgO template. The precursor solution was coated on the $CeO_2-buffered$ IBAD-MgO template using a slot-die coating method, calcined at a temperature of $550^{\circ}C$, and fired at high temperatures for 2.5 h in a reduced oxygen atmosphere. The $J_C$ value of YBCO coated conductors was found to be very sensitive to the microstructure, and thus higher $J_C$ value could be achieved when the in-plane texture was higher and the difference in $T_{C,zero}$. was negligible. Optimally processed YBCO coated conductor exhibited $J_C$ value of $0.75MA/cm^2$ at 77 K in self-field, which might be due to somewhat depressed $T_{C,zero}$ of 87.3 K caused by possible $Sm^{3+}$ substitution on the $Ba^{2+}$ site.

Demand Response Based Optimal Microgrid Scheduling Problem Using A Multi-swarm Sine Cosine Algorithm

  • Demand response (DR) refers to the customers' active reaction with respect to the changes of market pricing or incentive policies. DR plays an important role in improving network reliability, minimizing operational cost and increasing end users' benefits. Hence, the integration of DR in the microgrid (MG) management is gaining increasing popularity nowadays. This paper proposes a day-ahead MG scheduling framework in conjunction with DR and investigates the impact of DR in optimizing load profile and reducing overall power generation costs. A linear responsive model considering time of use (TOU) price and incentive is developed to model the active reaction of customers' consumption behaviors. Thereafter, a novel multi-swarm sine cosine algorithm (MSCA) is proposed to optimize the total power generation costs in the framework. In the proposed MSCA, several sub-swarms search for better solutions simultaneously which is beneficial for improving the population diversity. A cooperative learning scheme is developed to realize knowledge dissemination in the population and a competitive substitution strategy is proposed to prevent local optima stagnation. The simulation results obtained by the proposed MSCA are compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms to show its effectiveness in reducing overall generation costs. The outcomes with and without DR suggest that the DR program can effectively reduce the total generation costs and improve the stability of the MG network.

Mg와 Zn의 복합치환에 따른 LiMn2-yMyO4 정극 활물질의 결정 구조 및 전기화학적 특성 (Crystal Structure and Electrochemical Properties of LiMn2-yMyO4 Cathode Material by Complex Substitution of Mg and Zn)

  • Spinel $LiMn_{2-y}M_yO_4$ and $LiMn_{2-y}M_yO_4$ (M=Mg, Zn) powders were synthesized by solid-state method at $800^{\circ}C$ for 37h. Crystal structure and electrochemical properties were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, charge-discharge test, cyclic voltammetry and ac impedance to $LiMn_{2-y}M_yO_4$. All cathode material showed spinel structure in X-ray diffraction. Ununiform distortion which calculated by (111) face and (222) face was almost constant in spite of the change of the kind and the substituting ratio of the metal cation in $LiMn_{2-y}M_yO_4$ (M=Mg, Zn). $LiMn_{1.9}Mg_{0.05}Zn_{0.05}O_4/Li$ cell substituted $Mg^{+2}$ and $Zn^{+2}$ showed excellent discharge capacities than other cells, which it presented about 120mAh/g at the 1st cycle and about 73mAh/g at the 250th cycle, respectively. AC impedance of $LiMn_{2-y}M_yO_4/Li$ cells showed the similar resistance of about 65~110$\Omega$ before cycling.

  • 암모니아성 질소($NH_4-N$)는 산업 폐수, 농업 및 축산 폐수에 포함되어 있으며 인과 함께 수질의 부영양화를 일으키는 물질로 잘 알려져 있다. 또한 망간(Mn)과 비소(As)는 광산 처리수 등에 포함되어 있으며, 수질 오염의 원인 물질로 알려져 있다. 천연 제올라이트는 수중에서 암모니아성 질소를 제거하는데 사용되고 있지만 낮은 흡착능력을 가진다. 이러한 천연 제올라이트의 낮은 흡착능력을 개선하기 위해 $Na^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$로 이온 치환을 진행하였다. 암모니아성 질소($NH_4-N$)의 흡착량과 제거율은 $Na^+$로 이온 치환된 제올라이트에서 0.66 mg/g과 89.8%로 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 이온 치환된 제올라이트를 이용하여 Mn과 As의 흡착실험을 진행하였다. $Mg^{2+}$로 이온 치환된 제올라이트에서 Mn과 As의 높은 흡착량과 제거율을 보였다.

  • The effects of Ni2+ substitution for Mg2+-sites on the microwave dielectric properties of (Mg1-xNix)(Ti0.95(Mg1/3Ta2/3)0.05)O3 (0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.05) (MNTMT) ceramics were investigated. MNTMT ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state reaction. When the MgO / TiO2 ratio was changed from 1.00 to 1.02, MgTi2O5 was detected as a secondary phase along with the MgTiO3 main phase in the MNTMT specimens sintered at 1,400 ℃ for 4h. For the MNTMT specimens with MgO / TiO2 = 1.07 sintered at 1,400 ℃ for 4h, a single phase of MgTiO3 with an ilmenite structure was obtained from the entire range of compositions. The relative density of all the specimens sintered at 1,400 ℃ for 4h was higher than 95 %. The quality factor (Qf) of the sintered specimens depended strongly on the degree of covalency of the specimens, and the sintered specimens with x = 0.01 showed the maximum Qf value of 489,400 GHz. The dielectric constant (K) decreased with increasing Ni2+ content because Ni2+ had a lower dielectric polarizability (1.23Å3) than Mg2+ (1.32Å3). As Ni2+ content increased, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (TCF) improved, from -55.56 to -21.85 ppm/℃, due to the increase in tolerance factor (t) and the lower dielectric constant (K).

  • Titanium and its alloys that have a good biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties such as hardness and wear resistance are widely used in dental and orthopedic implant applications. However, they do not form a chemical bond with bone tissue. Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) that combines the high voltage spark and electro-chemical oxidation is a novel method to form ceramic coatings on light metals such as tita-nium and its alloys. This is an excellent re-producibility and economical, because the size and shape control of the nano-structure is relatively easy. Silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), and magne-sium (Mg) have a useful to bone. Particularly, Si has been found to be essential for normal bone, cartilage growth, and development. Mn influences regulation of bone remodeling be-cause its low content in body is connected with the rise of the concentration of calcium, phosphates and phosphatase out of cells. Pre-studies have shown that Mg plays very im-portant roles in essential for normal growth and metabolism of skeletal tissue in verte-brates and can be detected as minor constitu-ents in teeth and bone. In this study, Electrochemical behavior of plasma electrolytic oxidized films formed in solution containing Mn, Mg and Si ions were researched using various experimental in-struments. A series of Si-Mn-Mg coatings are produced on Ti dental implant using PEO, with the substitution degree, respectively, at 5 and 10%. The potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance tests for corrosion behav-iors were carried out in 0.9% NaCl solution at similar body temperature using a potentiostat with a scan rate of 1.67mV/s and potential range from -1500mV to + 2000mV. Also, AC impedance was performed at frequencies anging from 10MHz to 100kHz for corrosion resistance.
