This study aimed to reduce of traps incident of metro train door by suggesting preventive actions throughout analyzing why railway drivers and passengers commit unsafe behaviors which are human factors making occurrence of the incidents. The incident cases were analyzed and Incident Tree was structured by brainstorming with safety experts. In addition, the questionnaire survey was conducted for comparison with the analysis results. As the result, this study suggested driver's factors, passenger's factors, and public relation plan for safe use of metro in order to reduce the frequency of the incidents. For driver's factors, implementing job-rotation systems between railway and non-railway drivers, installing Object Detection Sensors between the metro doors and PSD, and flexible operation of dwell time were suggested. For passenger's factors, placing a platform safety person, installing a safety fence in front of the stairs and the elevators, and country wide public relations through mass media were suggested.

Platform Screen Door(PSD) has been installed in train manual operation section(ATS/ATC) by SeoulMetro since 2005. PSDs are now operating at 17 stations in SeoulMetro lines. As a result, it increases the safety of passenger, makes a comfortable platform and saves the energy of air conditioning. For PSD operation, train shall stop within 600mm of the train stop reference point. In train manual operation section, the detection system of train position is required to notify the train driver of train position and to ensure the condition that train stops the correct position for PSD operation. To detect the train stop position, the optical sensor shall be installed at platform. However, in case of SeoulMetro lines, the detection criterions of the train correct position stop are different because of using various types of trains which have different size and shape of front cars. In this paper, to solve this problem, the precise detection algorithm of the train stop at the correct position is used, and Laser distance measure sensor is introduced to notify the distance form the reference point of the train correct stop to train driver. This system has been applying to Seoul Metro line total.

Seoul Metro has been continuously growing after its foundation on August 15, 1974 and is currently acting the leading role in the city transportation which is now used by 4,130 thousand people (as of early 2011) on a daily average. The number of the electric rail cars also increased significantly from 60 cars at the time of foundation to 1,954. And the types of the cars also started and operated with the rheostatic control cars in the 70s to the chopper control cars in the 80s and VVVF control cars in the 90s. But the control devices of the driver's cabs haven't been accustomed to the drivers because of it's diversity. Therefore, This study carried out the survey for the preferences of control devices from the incumbent drivers at Seoul Metro. And we analyzed it and suggest a method for standardization of it's locating and naming the major control devices in the driver's cab as the consideration of their preference for it's efficiency, safety, and convenience.

This study intended to investigate exploratorily the precedent factors affecting two types of perceived balances between work and life(family/leisure) and the antecedent ones affected by them, focusing on the metro train drivers. To attain this purpose, literature survey on the precedent factors, work-life balance, and antecedent factors was performed, and the study model was designed based on this survey, and then this model was analyzed empirically using Multiple-Regression. The results on the precedent factors showed that Job Demand, Self-Efficacy, and Age have significant effects on the negative transfer of work. On the other hand, it was shown that Affiliative Culture, Self-Efficacy, and Internal Locus of Control have significant effects on the family centered balance. And the results on the antecedent factors showed that family centered balance has significant effects on Job Satisfaction, Psychological Depression and Fatigue, Safety Behavior, and accident, and the negative transfer of work has significant effects on Physical and Psychological Depression and Fatigue, Emergency Stress, and Safety Behavior.

This paper studied on the VVVF Inverter for 1C4M propulsion system of railway traction. The paper includes the comparison along a VVVF Inverter electric power conversion element for an electric railcar(GTO, IGBT). These inverters are composed of high power IGBTs and controlled by compact control units. The stack is simplified and optimized by using plate bus and IGBT driver units of hybrid-type.

This study highlights the theme of safety leadership in railway organization, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between safety climates, safety leadership, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship between CEO's safety philosophy, and safety communication showed a significant positive effect on boss's safety leadership. And boss's safety leadership showed a positive influence on observation belonging to safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with mistake. However, mistake, observation and violation were shown that there are no relationship with accidents.

The purpose of this article is to find out and analyze the diverse factors that are incurring stress to the railway drivers, and to depict the relationship among personality, job stress, job satisfaction, and accidents. To attain this purpose, the authors designed the questionnaire based on in-depth interview, scrutinized the factors of stressors, and statistically tested the study themes on the moderating effects of Personality Factors such as Locus of Control, Self-Efficacy, and Organization-Based Self Esteem on the relationship between Job Stressors and Job Satisfaction/Accidents, for the 212 samples received from KORAIL, Seoul Metro, and Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit. Resultedly, one of the findings indicate that certain aspects of a driver's personalities, as measured by locus of control, self-efficacy, and organization-based self esteem play important roles in predicting the level of job satisfaction, job stress and accidents.

The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship conflict and psychological reward as the elements of organizational culture variables showed a significant positive effect on CEO philosophy, communication, and boss's leadership. And only boss's leadership showed a positive influence on safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with accidents.

This paper analyzes job creation when the Korean economy transitioned to a knowledge economy from the 1990s to the 2010s. During this period, the ratio of service to manufacturing jobs increased, knowledge intensive industries grew, and job creation became geographically concentrated around Seoul. The changes slowed down in the 2010s, and overall job growth weakened. To analyze the effect of job creation driver industries during this period, the main part of which are knowledge intensive tradable service industries, on local service job creation, I use a modified version of the local labor market of Moretti (2010). I analyze the job changes during 1995-2005 and during 2006-2016 in 237 Si-Gun-Gu areas in the Census on Establishments datasets. I find that one manufacturing job creates 0.5 local service jobs and that one tradable service job creates 1.1 jobs within Gu areas of metro cities and 2.3 jobs in Si-Gun areas. The job creation relationship between the tradable and local service sectors was not altered in this period. As more jobs were created in the tradable sector driven by the transition to a knowledge economy, job creation overall remained active, with the opposite also being true.

본 논문에서는 하이브리드 궤도회로를 이용한 정위치 정차시스템에 대한 가능성에 대해 연구하였다. 하이브리드 궤도회로는 UHF대역의 RFID시스템을 이용하고 실시간 운영체제를 기반으로 철도차상시스템과의 통신이 가능한 차세대 철도신호시스템의 한 부분이다. 본 논문에서 사용된 UHF대역 RFID 시스템은 원형편파의 태그와 리더 안테나가 사용되고 일체형 리더기는 송신출력 25dBm에서 우수한 인식회수를 얻었다. 현재 수동운행중인 지하철 차량에 이 시스템을 적용하여 정위치 정차를 하게 되면 기존 수동운전에서 기관사의 실수로 역을 지나거나 PSD(Platform Screen Door)와 열차출입문이 Mismatch 되는 현상을 방지할 수 있다.
