  • 본 논문에서는 수은 램프를 대체하기 위하여 제논 기체를 사용한 무수은 램프를 제작하여 제논 여기종 밀도에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 진공자외선을 방사할 수 있는 $1s_4$ 공명준위의 제논 원자 밀도와 $1s_5$ 준안정준위의 제논 원자 밀도를 레이저 흡수 분광법을 사용하여 다양한 기체조건 및 방전전류에 따라서 측정하였다. 우리는 주어진 압력에서 방전전류에 따른 $1s_4$ 공명준위의 제논 원자 밀도와 $1s_5$ 준안정준위의 제논 원자 밀도를 측정하였으며 이러한 기본적인 방전 특성의 이해는 EEFL뿐만 아니라 플라스마 디스플레이에서도 발광 효율을 높이는데 매우 큰 기여를 할 것이다.

  • Metastable phase characteristics of beta Ti alloys were investigated to consider the relationship of the microstructure and diffraction pattern in TEM. TEM analysis showed that the microstructure was mottled as a modulated structure, and the diffraction pattern was composed of spot streaks between the main spots of a stable beta phase with a specific lattice relationship. The modulated structure may be induced by short distance slip or atom movement during a very short interval of solution treated and quenched (STQ) materials. The athermal ${\omega}$ phase, which could be precipitated at low temperature aging, is also analysed by the metastable phase. The metastable phases including athermal ${\omega}$ phase had a common characteristic of hardened and brittle behavior because the dislocation slip was restricted by a super lattice effect due to short distance atom movement at the metastable state.

  • In this paper, we introduced a LIF measurement method and summarized the theoretical side. When an altered wavelength of laser and electric power, lamp applied electric power, we measured the relative density of the metastable state in mercury after observing a laser induced fluorescence signal of 404.8nm and 546.2nm, and confirmed the horizontal distribution of plasma density in the discharge lamp. Due to this generation, the extinction of atoms in a metastable state occurred through collision, ionization, and excitation between plasma particles. The density and distribution of the metastable state depended on the energy and density of plasma particles, intensely This highlights the importance of measuring density distribution in plasma electric discharge mechanism study The results confirmed the resonance phenomenon regarding the energy level of atoms along a wavelength change, and also confirmed that the largest fluorescent signal in 436nm, and that the density of atoms in 546.2nm ($6^3S_1 {\to} 6^3P_2$ ) were larger than 404.8nm ($6^3S_1 {\to} 6^3P_1$). According to the increase of lamp applied electric power, plasma density increased, too. When increased with laser electric power, the LIF signal reached a saturation state in more than 2.6mJ. When partial plasma density distribution along a horizontal axis was measured using the laser induced fluorescence method, the density decreased by recombination away from the center.

  • 아르곤 열플라즈마 CVD장치를 제작하여 메탄과 수소기체의 화학적인 반응을 이용해서 대기압하에서 몰리브덴 기판에 준안정상(metastable state)의 다이아몬드를 합성하였다. 증착실험 후 SEM관찰, X선 회절 및 Raman분광분석을 행한 결과, 기판표면온도와 수소에 대한 메탄 농도비에 따라 증착 입자의 morphology가 변화하였다. 본 연구에서 설정한 증착조건 범위에서 다이아몬드는 기판표면의 온도가 약 $890^{\circ}C$와 수소에 대한 메탄 농도비가 0.5%로 하였을 때, 결정성, 밀도 및 품질이 우수한 다이아몬드 입자를 합성하는 것이 가능하였다.

Midinfrared Pulse Compression in a Dispersion-decreasing and Nonlinearity-increasing Tapered As2S3 Photonic Crystal Fiber

  • A tapered As2S3 photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with four layers of air holes in a hexagonal array around the core is designed in this paper. Numerical simulation shows that the dispersion D decreases and the nonlinearity coefficient γ increases from the thick to the thin end along the tapered PCF. We simulate the midinfrared pulse compression in the tapered As2S3 PCF using the adaptive split-step Fourier method. Initial Gaussian pulses of 4.4 ps and a central wavelength of 2.5 ㎛ propagating in the tapered PCF are located in the anomalous dispersion region. With an average power of assumed input pulses at 3 mW and a repetition frequency of 81.0 MHz, we theoretically obtain a pulse duration of 56 fs and a compression factor of 78 when the pulse propagates from the thick end to the thin end of the tapered PCF. When confinement loss in the tapered PCF is included in the simulation, the minimum pulse duration reaches 72 fs; correspondingly, the maximum compression factor reaches 61. The results show that in the anomalous-dispersion region, midinfrared pulses can be efficiently compressed in a dispersion-decreasing and nonlinearity-increasing tapered As2S3 PCF. Due to confinement loss in the tapered fiber, the efficiency of pulse compression is suppressed.

저출력 마이크로파 유도 플라스마 방출스펙트럼의 특성과 $CO_2$ 분석 (Characteristics of Low-power Microwave Induced Plasma Emission Spectrum and Detection of $CO_2$)

  • 기체 크로마토그래피와 쉽게 연결할 수 있는 Surfatron형의 MIP(Microwave Induced Plasma)용 cavity를 제작하고 헬륨, 아르곤, 질소 등을 플라스마 가스로 사용하여 플라스마를 생성시키고 스펙트럼을 비교하였다. 또한 헬륨과 아르곤, 질소에 미량의 CO2를 혼합하여 각 기체의 스펙트럼을 비교 분석하였으며, 제작한 MIP cavity가 질량분석기와 연결되었을 때 분자이온을 생성시킬 수 있는 이온원으로서의 가능성을 연구하였다. 헬륨과 아르곤 MIP는 높은 준안정 준위의 에너지를 가지기 때문에 분자들이 거의 다 깨어지므로 분자상태로 시료기체의 검출은 거의 불가능하였다. 그러나 질소는 다른 비활성기체에 비하여 낮은 준안정 준위의 어네지를 가지므로 검출하려는 기체성분이 상당부분 분자상태로 존재함을 알 수 있었다.

Effects of Sigma ($\sigma$) Phase on the Pitting Corrosion of 25% Cr Duplex Stainless Steel; Investigations by means of Electrochemical Noise Measurement

  • Effects of the precipitation of $\sigma$ phase on the metastable pitting as a precursor of stable pitting corrosion and also on the progress of stale pitting of the 25Cr-7Ni-3Mo-0.25N duplex stainless steel were investigated in chloride solution. Electrochemical potential and current noises of the alloy were measured in 10 % ferric chloride solution ($FeCl_3$) with zero resistance ammeter (ZRA), and then analyzed by power spectral density (PSD) and by corrosion admittance ($A_c$) spectrum. With aging at $850^{\circ}C$, the passive film of the alloy was found to get significantly unstable as represented by power spectral density (PSD) and a transition from metastable pitting state to stable one was observed. In the corrosion admittance spectrum, the number of negative $A_c$ corresponding to the state of localized corrosion increased with aging, suggesting that the precipitation of $\sigma$ phase considerably degraded the passive film by depleting Cr and Mo around it at $\alpha/\sigma$ or $\gamma/\sigma$ phase boundaries, thereby leading to the initiation of the pitting corrosion. However, the Cr and Mo at $\alpha/\sigma$ or $\gamma/\sigma$ phase boundaries which were once depleted due to the precipitation of the $\sigma$ phase were partly replenished by the diffusion of Cr and Mo from the surrounding matrix with aging time longer. The initiation of pitting seems to be associated with the precipitation density of the $\sigma$ phase with an effective size needed to induce the sufficient depletion of Cr and Mo around it.

R32를 포함한 R22 대체 혼합냉매의 모세관 유동 특성 (Flow Characteristics of Refrigerant Mixtures with R32 in a Capillary Tube)

  • The characteristics of the flow of pure HFC refrigerants(R32, R125, and R134a) and their mixtures through capillary tubes were investigated experimentally. Two capillary tubes with 1.2mm and 1.6mm inner diameter and 1.5m length were adopted as test sections. Mass flow rates and temperatures and pressures were measured for several condensing temperatures and degrees of subcooling at capillary tube inlet. The effects of the condensing temperature, inner diameter of capillary tube, and subcooling on the mass flow rate of refrigerants were discussed, and the mass flow rates of HFC refrigerants were compared with that of R22. The pressure and temperature distributions along the capillary tube compared with that of R22. The pressure and temperature distributions along the capillary tube show that there is a metastable equilibrium state in the flow through the tube. Underpressure for vaporization increases as refrigerant mass flux increases and inlet subcooling decreases. Empirical correlation was suggested to predict underpressure for vaporization of the HFC refrigerants.

Effects of Annealing Pressures on the Ordering and Microstructures of FePt:Ag Nanocomposite Films

  • FePt:Ag (100 nm) nanocomposite thin films were prepared on naturally-oxidized Si substrates by dc magnetron sputtering at room temperature. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are used to investigate the effects of annealing pressures on the ordering processes and microstructures of these films. The average sizes for the $L1_0$ ordered domains and the FePt grains are reduced to d = 9 nm and D = 13 nm from d = 19 nm and D = 34 nm, respectively, when the annealing pressure is enhanced to 0.6 GPa from room pressure at 873 K. Furthermore, the size distribution is improved into a narrow range. With increasing pressure, the coercivity of $L1_0$-FePt:Ag thin films decreases from 15.1 to 7.6 kOe. In the present study, the effects of high pressure on the $L1_0$ ordering processes and microstructures of FePt:Ag nanocomposite films were discussed.
