Until now, many metadata registries have been built in various fields and the metadata registries were built based on ISO/IEC 11179 which is the international standard for metadata management. However, their management systems do not fully support various and useful tools to easily and systematically manage the metadata registries. In this paper, we describe the metadata registry management system we designed and implemented. The implemented metadata registry management system provide many useful tools for efficient and easy metadata management. Finally, the developed system is also based on the international standard, ISO/IEC11179. Therefore, we can apply it to other fields for building and managing metadata registries.

Currently for the development of internet and network technology, since request of service for the large volume multimedia data has been more increased, multimedia users want the convenience and accuracy of multimedia service system about storing and retrieving of the multimedia contents. To satisfy the request of users, metadata management for the diverse information of multimedia contents is very important. However, the metadata management for the multimedia contents is difficult because the metadata standards are different each other for the type of multimedia data and service. In this paper, we propose the integration metadata management system structure which extends previous metadata management system based on text for the multimedia contents metadata which are expressed differently each other according to the multimedia data or service type.

Recently many organizations have attempted to build hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to internet-based virtual work places. It is thus important to manage corporate hypermedia documents effectively. Metadata play a critical role for managing these documents. This paper identifies metadata roles and components to build its schema. Furthermore a meta-information system HyDoMiS(Hyperdocument Meta-information System) is proposed by the use of this metadata schema. HyDoMiS performs three functions; metadata management search and reporting The metadata management function is concerned with workflow document and database. The system is more likely to help implement and maintsain hypermedia information system effectively.

In this paper, we propose a system that allows small business owners focusing on the restaurant business to easily understand the management situation, and to manage the operation and management centering on the cost of food materials and profits and losses. In general, the metadata structure is different depending on the POS system, so it is necessary to first develop a standardized metadata model for a food material cost management system for small business owners in various industries. For that reason, the system proposed in this paper was applied to the cost management app by referring to the development of a data model using the metadata standard. In addition, in order to implement a cost profit/loss management system for small business owners in the restaurant industry, it was designed to support standardized metadata models from various types of POS systems, and is a hybrid app that can support a smart environment. 현재 가장 많은 관심을 받고 있는 분야 중의 한 가지는 바로 기능성게임 관련 분야이다. 또한, 기능성 게임 산업의 규모는 해마다 급속한 양적인 성장을 하고 있다. 기능성 게임의 효율적인 메타데이터 관리는 매우 중요 이슈이다. 따라서 우리는 효율적인 기능성 게임의 메타데이터 관리를 위한 통합 관리 시스템의 설계를 제안하다. 본 시스템은 인터넷을 기반으로 서비스가 제공되며, 기능성 게임 사용자들(일반 사용자, 개발자, 전문가, 메타데이터 관리자)은 제안된 시스템을 이용하여 새로운 메타데이터 정보 입력, 기존 메타 데이터 정보 검색, 검색 결과로 생성된 문서 파일들(HTML, XML, EXCEL, MS-WORD)을 자신의 로컬 컴퓨터에 저장하기 등의 작업들을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다.

ISO 15489:2001 addresses the principles and requirements with which organizations, both public and private, should comply on the management of their records to ensure that adequate records are created, captured and managed. The standard defines the characteristics that a record should have through records management system as follows: authenticity, reliability, integrity, and usability. Authenticity means that records can be proven to be what it purports to be, to have been created or sent by the person purported to have created or sent it, and to have been created or sent at the time purported. Reliability means that the contents of the records can be trusted as a full and accurate representation of the transactions, activities or facts to which they attest and can be depended upon in the course of subsequent transactions or activities. Integrity refers to ensuring that a record is complete and unaltered. Usability means that records can be located, retrieved, presented and interpreted. In order to have these characteristics, a record should be persistently linked to the metadata necessary to document a transaction. Metadata is "data describing context, content and structure of records and their management through time." Metadata ensure the creation and maintenance of authentic, reliable and usable records and the protection of the integrity of those records. It could be implemented by creating and capturing records management metadata in systems that create and manage records. There have been some projects and standard initiatives to identify a core set of records management metadata. Included are the Australian Recordkeeping Metadata Standard and the British Metadata Standard which is part of the Requirements for Electronic Records Management System. Recently ISO/TS 23081-1 is published to implement metadata requirements within the framework of ISO 15489. Public records management system in Korea is ruled by the Act on the Management of Archives by Public Agencies and Administrative Records Management Regulation. This article evaluates records and their descriptive elements captured and maintained by the records management system in Korea on the basis of the international metadata standards.

Recently, many organizations have attempted to construct hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to Internet-based virtual work places. For the effective management of the hypermedia application, it is important to develop a technique for managing hypermedia documents, hyperdocuments. This paper employs metadata as it has been conceived as a key approach in document management. Hence, this paper proposes a meta-information system based on metadata, HyDoMIS, for the purpose of hyperdocument manage-ment. This system contains a repository for hyper-documents, which is based on metadata schema and classification. HyDoMIS performs functions such as metadata management, searching and reporting.

대용량의 지리정보시스템에 저장된 자료에 대한 접근과 관리에 대한 복잡성을 해결하기 위하여 공간 자료와 비공간 자료에 대한 물리적이고 개념적인 사항들을 메타데이터로 구축하고 활용할 필요가 있다. 이에 따라 공간개체의 공간적 요소와 비공간적 요소를 함께 관리하는 지하수 관리시스템에서도 공간 개체에 대한 메타데이터의 구축이 필요하며 이러한 메타데이터 구축 시 개체수준의 메타데이터를 구축해야 한다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 DXF 포맷 중심의 Tile-based 지형도에 입력한 지하수의 메타정보를 개체기반 지하수관리시스템을 위한 메타데이터의 모델을 제시한다. 또한 메타데이터 모델에서 개체 수준과 자료집합 수준에서 메타데이터를 모델링하고 지하수관리시스템을 위한 메타데이터의 표준 명세를 제시한다.

지금까지 ISO/IEC ll179를 기반으로 한 많은 메타데이타 레지스트리 관리 시스템들이 개발되었다. 그러나 기존 시스템들의 경우, 국제 표준인 ISO/IEC ll179 명세에 위배되거나 활용을 위한 필수 기능이 미비하다는 단점을 지닌다 또한 핵심적인 구현 내용이 공개되지 않음으로써 국내 환경에 적합한 메타데이타 레지스트리 관리 시스템 개발에 어려움이 있다. 이 논문의 목적은 기존 시스템들의 문제점을 해결하고 원천 기술 확보를 위한 메타데이타 레지스트리관리 시스템 개발에 있다. 또한 개발한 시스템을 과학기술정보 분야에 적용하여 실제 메타데이타 레지스트리를 구축 과정을 보인다. 개발된 메타데이타 레지스트리 관리 시스템은 크게 메타데이타 레지스트리 계층, 핵심 컴포넌트 계충, 확장 계층 및 서비스 인터페이스 계층으로 구성된다. 구현된 메타데이타 관리 시스템은 ISO/IEC ll179의 규칙을 준수하고 활용을 위한 필수적인 기능들을 포함하고 있다. 따라서 시스템 개발 프로세스 및 메타데이타 레지스트리 구축을 위한 지침서로서 이용될 수 있다. 또한 컴포넌트를 기반으로 설계 및 구현되었기 때문에 다양한 분야의 메타데이타 레지스트리 관리 시스템 개발을 위한 재사용이 용이하며 시스템 개발 시간과 비용을 감소시킨다.
