  • Purpose: This study was meta-analysis study that it was to analyze the effect of sensory stimulation on preterm infants. Method: The sample of this study is 18 researches of selected by criteria. The conclusion of study was that sensory stimulation of preterm infants is effective. Result: Most large effect size was Katz(1991)'s study(d=1.96), small effect size was Caine(1991), s(d=0.37). Especially multimodal sensory stimulation(d=1.2) was more effective than unimodal sensory stimulation(0.53). Also behavioral variable of preterm infans was most sensitivity indicator. Conclusion: According to the result, the study on sensory stimulation should be research according to the gestational age and birth weight of preterm infants. In addition, the feasible sensory intervention should be develop.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of smart learning in both general education and fisheries & marine education through meta-analysis. To find the effects size, we had collected 112 studies from graduation theses and journal articles. Followings are the results of the research: (a) Smart learning turns out to be more statistically effective comparing to traditional education. The total effect size of smart learning is .768 and the value of U3 is 61.50%. (b) There is no significant difference between general education and fisheries & marine education in the view of effect size. (c) There is a significant difference in subjects, type of publication, and size of members in experimental group. High school student group has the most effect size of smart learning.

  • Recently many organizations have attempted to build hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to internet-based virtual work places. It is thus important to manage corporate hypermedia documents effectively. Metadata play a critical role for managing these documents. This paper identifies metadata roles and components to build its schema. Furthermore a meta-information system HyDoMiS(Hyperdocument Meta-information System) is proposed by the use of this metadata schema. HyDoMiS performs three functions metadata management search and reporting The metadata management function is concerned with workflow document and database. The system is more likely to help implement and maintsain hypermedia information system effectively.

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the effects of smart learning. By using meta analysis method, twenty MA and Ph.D degree papers published from 2006 to 2013 were analyzed and 104 effect sizes were calculated. Followings were the results of the research: (a) Smart learning turned out to be more statistically effective comparing to traditional education. The total mean effect size was .886 and the value of U3 was 66.53%. (b) All effect size of sub dependent variables(ie, academic achievement, learning satisfaction, learning attitude) were also effective by adapting smart learning. (c) The moderated variables likes learner characteristics, learning content, and interaction had high effect sizes. Operation system variable had a low effect size but it was not significant.

  • Meta-analysis is a statistical integration method that delivers an opportunity to overview the entire result by integrating and analyzing many quantitative research results. This study will find meaningful mediator variables for criterion variables that affect purchase and repurchase intentions in e-commerce, on the basis of the results of a meta-analysis. We reviewed a total of 114 e-commerce studies published in Korean journals between 2000 and 2014, where a cause and effect relationship is established between variables that are specified in the conceptual model of this study. In this meta-analysis, the path between trust and purchase intention showed the biggest effect size. The second biggest effect size was found in the path between commitment and purchase intention, while the smallest one was obtained with perceived. Thus, we present the theoretical and practical implications of these results and discuss the differences among these results through a comparative analysis with previous studies.

  • Objectives: This study was undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of the Neurofeedback training programme (NFT), and systematically search for factors related to the NFT.Methods: This study applied meta-analysis to thesis and journal articles published in Korea. A total of 42 papers published between 2001 to August in 2015 were evaluated, which were selected through a database search. Results: Summarizing the evaluation, the quality of results was low. The meta-analysis revealed that the effect size of the neurofeedback programme training was 0.691, over the median. Also, the variables were statistically significant to the neurofeedback programme training effect, and were consistent with the subject characteristics, their disabilities/non disabilities, and level of education. The results were also statistically significant to the neuro-feedback programme training effect according to the research method (training method), the sessions per a week, total sessions, and training time. Conclusions: The RoBANS result of 42 studies is at a risk of being highly biased. However, statistically, the meta-analysis result of the factors evaluated is significantly high.

  • Growing evidence suggests an elevated risk for colorectal neoplasia among individuals with low levels of vitamin D, the biological actions of which are mediated by the vitamin D receptor (VDR). To investigate the association among vitamin D status, VDR polymorphisms (FokI, and BsmI), and colorectal adenoma, we conducted a meta-analysis of nine studies of circulating levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and five studies of FokI or BsmI polymorphisms in relation to colorectal adenomas. Study-specific relative risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled using a random-effects model. A total of 3398 coloreetal adenomas for 25(OH)D and 1754 colorectal adenomas for VDR were included in the meta-analysis. We identified a significant inverse association between colorectal adenoma (combined RR, 0.93; 95% CI, 0.87-0.98 per 10 ng/mL increase in 25(OH)D levels). When we examined FokI and BsmI polymorphisms in the meta-analysis, we found no association for either FokI (combined RR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.95-1.06) or BsmI (combined RR, 0.99; 95% CI, 0.93-1.05) in the additive model. These data suggest an inverse association between circulating 25(OH)D levels and colorectal adenoma risk.

  • The purpose of study was to introduce the method of systemic reviews and the meta-analysis as the statistical method of the systemic reviews. The resource of study was mainly the Cocharane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. The first and most important decision in preparing a review is to determine its focus by asking clearly framed questions. Then searching for databases, quality assessment of the studies, collecting data, analysing and presenting results, and interpreting results fellow. The necessity and principle of meta-analysis were described and the methods of meta-analysis by the data types were summarised.

  • As the information and communications market goes more uncertain, foresight activities becomes more important. A number of foresight activities, such as trend analysis, have been used to predict customer needs. However previous studies tend to lack objectivity and systematization. In this study, we suggest a meta analysis methodology which combines both top-down and bottom-up approach in order to systematize the analysis process. Secondly, we applied this approach to ICT market to identify essential future technologies. Based on the result from the meta analysis, we have constructed the future technology roadmap.

  • Diverse requirements of users on web-based model management force a system agent to develop user-adaptive building a model in reality and providing an adequate solution method of the model. The relationship between models is important knowledge for the agent to effectively build a new model to adaptively adjust an existing model under a problem and to efficiently connect the new model into an adequate solution method. Since the generating process of the inter-model relationship is more difficult than the building a new model however the process mostly depends on the knowledge of operation research experts. Without the adequate scheme of the inter-model relationship the burden of the management for the agent increases rapidly and the quality of the services may worsen. This study shows that meta-knowledge generated from relationship between models is important for the user to build a model in reality and to acquire the solver appropriate to the model. The relationship that consists of common and exclusive objects between models can be represented by frames. The system under development to implement the idea includes user-adaptive ability which identifies a model through forward chaining method and searches the solver appropriate to the model by using the meta knowledge. We illustrate the meta knowledge with an applied delivery system in supply chain management.
