모바일 인스턴트 메신저 의존도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dependence of Mobile Instant Messenger)

  • With the recent establishment of a ubiquitous environment and the paradigm shift to a smart society, the use of mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablet PCs, has become widespread. Thus, the trend is gradually shifting from using Web-based Instant Messenger to using Mobile-based Instant Messenger. Mobile Instant Messenger refers to a service that allows instant messaging as well as data sending and receiving between individuals with exclusive application programs(mobile Apps), which can be used in portable devices-such as smart phones-with wireless Internet access. Korea's portal sites, telecommunication companies, and even big companies have all rushed into the MIM market to join the competition. The reason so many companies are showing interest in the MIM business is because it is rising as a core platform to substitute portal sites in the mobile society, and MIM is perceived as the best means to attract and secure users. The intention to reuse or use continually was considered an important factor in maintaining a dominant position amidst such fierce competition, and consequently, most research thus far has reflected such thought. However, the frequent or long-term use of a system alone cannot indicate the definite success of the system, nor guarantee its dominant position in the market. On the contrary, MIM dependence, which goes beyond simple repetitive use and indicates a state where users actually or emotionally depend on a specific system, can better explain the user action. However, not much research has been conducted on dependence. The research results showed that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, and social belonging significantly affected perceived usefulness. Message responsiveness, Link, and social belonging significantly affected flow. Flow significantly affected MIM dependence, and perceived usefulness did not affect MIM dependence. This study has proven that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, Link, social belonging and perceived usefulness are important antecedents and mediating factors of MIM dependence. Moreover, this study is significant in that it explains the overall process of MIM dependence, and expands on the variety and scope of research that can be applied to MIM-related studies.

The Impact of Senders' Identity to the Acceptance of Electronic Word-of-Mouth of Consumers in Vietnam

  • Studies related to Electronic Word-of-Mouth (eWOM) show that the acceptance of eWOM information is an important factor in customer purchase decisions. When consumers accept eWOM information, they tend to use that information in considering before making purchase decisions. In Viet Nam, there are few studies about eWOM information, especially on the acceptance of eWOM information. Research is conducted to test the influence of consumers on the perception of the senders' identity to the acceptance of online reviews (a kind of eWOM) in Viet Nam - a case study in Ho Chi Minh City. Using adjustment techniques, inspecting the scales and a theoretical model represent the relationship among the influential factors. The research is based on a sample of 522 consumers who use the Internet to search for product reviews before buying and used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the relationships among the variables. The research results show that the scales of the variables: Message Quality, Source Credibility, Perceived Message Usefulness, Perceived Senders' Identity, Perceived Message Credibility, Message Acceptance attain the validity and reliability in the research. The research contributes to the understanding of the determinants that influence the acceptance of eWOM information, which are informational factors, and factors related to consumer skepticism.

온라인 제품정보 특성이 정보의 설득효과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증적 연구 (Empirical Validation for the Effects of Perceived Characteristics of Online Product Message on Persuasion)

  • This research is an empirical study to analyze the factors that affect users' acceptance & diffusion of online product message. Today many people use the product message/information on the internet, before they make decision to buy something in online/offline environment. This paper proposes the site design look, enjoyment, and usefulness as message perception factors. And we examine the relationship among the perception factors, message credibility, acceptance & diffusion. The purpose of this paper is threefold. First, we examine the relationship between as perception factors and the credibility assessment of the message by customers. Second, we will show the effect of message credibility on the message acceptance & diffusion. Third, we try to present some theoretical and empirical implication through the result of our studies.

An Empirical Study of the Usage Performance of Mobile Emoticons : Applying to the Five Construct Model by Huang et al.

  • Emoticons perform an important role as an enhancement to written communication, in areas such as Windows Live Messenger instant messaging, e-mails, mobile Short Message Services (SMS), and others. Emoticons are graphic images used in communications to indicate the feelings of people exchanging messages via mobile technology. In this research, the perceived usefulness of the emoticon in mobile phone text messages is verified with consumers using the five construct model of Huang. A K-means clustering technique for separating three groups based on levels of perceived usefulness of mobile emoticons is used with a structural equation model test using Smart PLS 2.0, and the bootstrap re-sampling procedure. We analyzed relationships among use of emoticons, enjoyment, interaction, information richness, and perceived usefulness. The results show there are relationships among use of emoticons, enjoyment, interaction, perceived usefulness, and information richness, however enjoyment of emoticons did not significantly affect the perceived usefulness of messages with emoticons alone. The results suggest emoticons have different affects on emotion in both mobile, and Messenger contexts. Our study did not consider more detailed media properties, and thus more studies are needed. Our research results contribute to mobile communication activation, provides companies with an understanding of key characteristics of consumers who use emoticons, and provides useful implications for improving management and marketing strategies.

메시지 프레이밍이 소셜미디어 신뢰도 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Message Framing on Social Media Credibility and Behavioral Intentions)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of message framing of social media contents on social media credibility and behavioral intention and the role of customers' gourmet restaurant involvement. In this study message framing is divided into regulatory focus and message sidedness and used experimental stimulus composed of $2{\times}2$ factorial design. Also investigated the effect into the social media credibility and behavioral intention. A total of 560 valid samples were analyzed. According to the results, it was confirmed that stimuli 'two-sided / prevention' and 'one-side / promotion' framing were the most influential framing on social media credibility and behavioral intention and the social media credibility has significant effect on the behavioral intention. In this study the effect of message framing which was not widely used in the hospitality industry research was confirmed. Also the usefulness of regulatory focus and message sidedness were identified in the various research in hospitality management.

건강증진 메시지 디자인 원리의 중요도와 실행도에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Importance and Performance Analysis of Health Message Design Principles)

  • 이 연구에서는 일반인이 건강증진 메시지 디자인과 관련하여 핵심정보 제시, 내용의 유용성, 형식, 직관성의 중요성을 어떻게 인식하는지와 현재 식품의약품안전처에서 발간하는 웹진의 텍스트와 시각자료가 위 네 가지 측면에서 얼마나 효과적으로 디자인되었다고 인식하는지를 조사하였다. 그리고 이러한 인식에 영향을 미치는 개인특성 변인이 무엇인지를 탐색적으로 연구하였다. 이를 위해 294명의 성인들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 중요도 및 실행도 분석(Importance-Performance Analysis)을 실시하였다. 그 결과 연구참여자들은 텍스트 디자인에서 내용의 유용성을, 시각자료 디자인에서 핵심정보 제시를 가장 중요한 항목으로 인식하였으며, 텍스트와 시각자료 모두 형식 측면에서의 실행도가 가장 높게 나타났다. 시각자료의 핵심정보 제시와 직관성은 가장 중점적으로 개선해야 할 원리인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 개인의 건강관심도가 건강증진 메시지 디자인 원리의 중요도와 실행도 인식에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과에 기반하여 효과적인 건강증진 메시지 개발을 위한 원리와 전략에 대해 논의하였다.

베이지안을 이용한 인터넷 커뮤니티 상의 유해 메시지 차단 기법 (Spam Message Filtering with Bayesian Approach for Internet Communities)

  • 스팸의 피해가 이메일 서비스를 넘어 인터넷 전반에 걸쳐 급증하는 현재 인터넷은 익명성을 악용하여 해당 커뮤니티의 공동 관심사와는 무관한 메시지들, 즉 상업적 광고, 상호비방, 종교 홍보 등의 스팸 메시지들을 게재하면서 심각한 사회적 문제를 일으키고 있다. 본고에서는 인터넷 커뮤니티 상의 스팸 메시지를 해결하고자 기존의 스팸 메일 차단에 이용되고 있는 베이지안 접근법을 적용한 인터넷 커뮤니티 상의 스팸 메시지 차단 방법을 소개한다. 나아가 인터넷 커뮤니티 상에서의 스팸 메시지 필터링의 효과를 증대시키기 위한 방편으로 스팸 메시지를 다양한 소분류로 세분화가 가능토록 구성했다 이는 인터넷 커뮤니티의 다양한 이용자의 요구를 충족시키기 위한 방안이다. 구현된 베이지안 필터링 기법은 현재 운영되고 있는 사이트들을 대상으로 정확도를 측정하였다.

정교화 가능성 모형에 의한 IT 피교육자 신용 믿음 변화의 종단분석 (An Longitudinal Analysis of Changing Beliefs on the Use in IT Educatee by Elaboration Likelihood Model)

  • IT education can be summarized as persuading the educatee to accept IT. The persuasion is made by delivering the messages for how-to-use and where-to-use to the educatee, which leads formulation of a belief structure for using IT. Therefore, message based persuasion theory, as well as IT acceptance theories such as technology acceptance model(TAM), would play a very important role for explaining IT education. According to elaboration likelihood model(ELM) that has been considered as one of the most influential persuasion theories, people change attitude or perception by two routes, central route and peripheral route. In central route, people would think critically about issue-related arguments in an informational message. In peripheral route, subjects rely on cues regarding the target behavior with less cognitive efforts. Moreover, such persuasion process is not a one-shot program but continuous repetition with feedbacks, which leads to changing a belief structure for using IT. An educatee would get more knowledge and experiences of using IT as following an education program, and be more dependent on a central route than a peripheral route. Such change would reformulate a belief structure which is different from the intial one. The objectives of this study are the following two: First, an identification of the relationship between ELM and belief structures for using IT. Especially, we analyze the effects of message interpretation through both of central and peripheral routes on perceived usefulness which is an important explaining variable in TAM and perceived use control which have perceived ease of use and perceived controllability as sub-dimensions. Second, a longitudinal analysis of the above effects. In other words, change of the relationship between interpretation of message delivered by IT education and beliefs of IT using is analyzed longitudinally. For achievement of our objectives, we suggest a research model, which is constructed as three-layered. While first layer has a dependent variable, use intention, second one has perceived usefulness and perceived use control that has two sub-concepts, perceived ease of use and perceived controllability. Finally, third one is related with two routes in ELM, source credibility and argument quality which are operationalization of peripheral route and central route respectively. By these variables, we suggest five hypotheses. In addition to relationship among variables, we suggest two additional hypotheses, moderation effects of time in the relationships between perceived usefulness and two routes. That is, source credibility's influence on perceived usefulness is decreased as time flows, and argument quality's influence is increased. For validation of it, our research model is tested empirically. With measurements which have been validated in the other studies, we survey students in an Excel class two times for longitudinal analysis. Data Analysis is done by partial least square(PLS), which is known as an appropriate approach for multi-group comparison analysis with a small sized sample as like this study. In result. all hypotheses are statistically supported. One of theoretical contributions in this study is an analysis of IT education based on ELM and TAM which are considered as important theories in psychology and IS theories respectively. A longitudinal analysis by comparison between two surveys based on PLS is also considered as a methodological contribution. In practice, finding the importance of peripheral route in early stage of IT education should be notable.

모바일 환경에서의 텍스트 표현 방식의 상호작용성과 사용모드가 사용자의 만족도, 유용성, 사용의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of interactivity and usage mode on user satisfaction, usefulness, and intetion to use in text information presentation in mobile environment)

  • 최근 사용자들은 정보 기술의 발전으로 다양한 상황 속에서 모바일을 통해 원하는 정보를 제공받고 있다. 사용자가 정보와 커뮤니케이션 할 때, 탭핑과 같은 제스처 활동과 그 과정 속에서 겪는 경험을 통해 인터랙션이 이루어진다. 이러한 인터랙션을 통한 활동과 경험은 사용자의 심리에 영향을 미치고, 이는 추후 사용자의 행동과 관련이 있기 때문에 중요하다. 따라서 모바일 내 정보 표현 방식에서도 상호작용성을 고려하여 설계해야한다. 이와 관련한 연구들이 진행되어 왔으나 특히 텍스트 정보 표현 방식과 관련해서는 주로 기능적 측면만을 살펴 본 연구가 많고, 사용자가 처한 상황을 고려하여 평가한 연구는 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 정보 전달 시 사용자 중심의 완성도 높은 정보 표현 방식을 위해 상호작용성과 사용모드가 사용자의 정보습득에 대한 만족도, 유용성, 사용의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 상호작용성은 Modality와 Message 상호작용성의 여부에 따라 High와 Low로 두 가지 방식으로 구성하고, 사용모드는 과업의 여부에 따라 Action 모드와 Goal 모드로 나누어 구성하였다. 실험 디자인은 총 $2{\times}2$로, 4개의 실험조건으로 구성되어 있다. 모바일 환경 내에서 인터랙션 차이에 따라 동일한 메시지 내용의 텍스트 정보가 (a) 오직 Modality 인터랙션으로만 제공되고, (b) Modality 인터랙션과 Message 인터랙션이 함께 제공된다. 또한 사용 모드에 따라 (a) Action 모드는 문맥에 관한 구체적인 지시사항 없이 실험이 진행되고, (b) Goal 모드는 참가자에게 특정 과업에 대한 지시가 제시된 채로 실험이 진행된다. 연구 결과, 모바일 내 정보제공 시 인터랙션과 사용모드의 차이에 따라 만족도, 유용성, 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • 재활심리분석시스템으로서 웹이 보편적으로 사용되면서 스팸메시지가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 이의 억제를 위한 메시지통제시스템은 기술적이고 경제적 대안으로 필터시스템과 과금 시스템을 사용하고 있으나 차단오류와 과금저항으로 인한 메시지의 수신과 가용성을 제한한다. 이의 해결을 위해서 불법적인 메시지는 억제하지만 송 수신자에게 유익하고 합법적인 메시지가 폐기되고 상실되는 것을 방지할 수 있는 메시지통제시스템의 우회 모델을 제안하고 이를 사용하여 메시지의 유용성과 가용성을 높여줄 수 있는 웹기반의 메시지통제시스템을 구현하여 모델의 실용성을 검증하였다.
