Home networking and Internet control technologies must satisfy three requirements with a view to being applied to home for raising the qualify of human life. Firstly, the cost of adding home networking ability to the traditional appliance must be minimized. Secondly, the mutual accessibility between home network and Internet must be guaranteed in the various Internet service environment of home. Finally, communication must be possible between the home network and the Internet that use different communications protocols. This paper proposes the ARCS (Appliance Remote Control System) that controls appliances based on LnCP (Living network Control Protocol) via the Internet. LnCP is the most cost-effective network and control protocol for home network. ARCS guarantees the accessibility from the Internet to home network and provides users with the virtual interface designed for controlling appliances using the Internet application program. In addition, this paper proposes AICS (Appliance Internet Control Specification). AICS, is based on LnCP, defines the message structure and control commands for the Internet control communication. ARCS and home gateway are developed to meet AICS.

VANET technologies provide real-time traffic information for mitigating traffic jam and preventing traffic accidents, as well as in-vehicle infotainment service through Telematics/Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Due to the rapid increasement of various requirements, the vehicle communication with a limited resource and the fixed frame architecture of the conventional techniques is limited to provide an efficient communication service. Therefore, a new flexible operation depending on the surrounding situation information is required that needs an adaptive design of the network architecture and protocol for efficiently predicting, distributing and sharing the context-aware information. In this paper, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) based on communication between vehicle and a Road Side Units (RSU) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) based on communication between vehicles are effectively combined in a new MAC architecture and V2I and V2V vehicles collaborate in management. As a result, many vehicles and RSU can use more efficiently the resource and send data rapidly. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve high resource utilization in accordance. Also we can find out the optimal transmission relay time and 2nd relay vehicle selection probability value to spread out V2V/V2I collaborative schedule message rapidly.

A home network provides users with a variety of information services. The kind and quality of the services can be substantially enhanced by utilizing a variety of data from sensors. However, home networks currently limit their potential by focusing on providing multimedia services rather than services utilizing sensor data. Outdoor electronics are frequently made in a form that emphasizes only certain limited functions in contrast to home appliances. Thus, sensors with one or two functions rather than many can be used in outdoor systems and their use will be more economical than using sensor nodes indoors with more complex home appliances. In this study, we chose to work with motion sensors as they have many potential uses, and we selected a parking lot control system with to use the motion sensors. This parking lot control system was implemented and applied as part of a home network. For this purpose, we defined and implemented a protocol to manage the network in a ubiquitous sensor network environment for the wireless home network in this study. Although a network management system in a Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) related to this study is being advanced for other projects, the protocol interface and message system have not yet been clearly defined for use in a general purpose network or in an extension into heterogeneous kinds of networks, communication support, etc. Therefore, USN network management should be conducted for management of faults, composition, power, and applications. To verify the performance of the protocol interface designed in this study, we designed and implemented the necessary units (sensor nodes, sensor gateway, and server) for each network section and, with them, proved the validity of this study.
For extending of hot-spot of WLAN, (2) proposes internetworking scheme between wireless LAN (WLAN) and mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), which employ the same layer-2 protocol with different mode. Compared to internetworking schemes between UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems) and WLAN (3-4), the scheme from (2) has relatively low overhead and latencies because WLAN and MANET are physically and logically similar to each other. However, the mode switching algorithm proposed in r2] for internetworking between WLAN and MANET only considers signal strength and determines handoff, and mobile nodes following a zigzag course in pollution area may perform handoff at short intervals. Furthermore, (2) employs mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) at base, which brings still high delay on handoff and overhead due to signal message exchange. In this paper, we present optimized internetworking scheme between WLAN and MANET, modified from (2). To settle ping-pong handoff from (2), we propose adaptive mode switching algorithm. HMIPv6 is employed for IP connectivity and mobility service in WLAN, which solves some shortcomings, such as high handoff overhead and vulnerable security. For routing in MANET, OLSR is employed, which is a proactive Protocol and has optimally reduced signal broadcasting overhead. OLSR operates with current P protocol compatibly with no change or modification. The proposed internetworking scheme based on adaptive mode switching algorithm shows better performance than scheme from (2).
In ad-hoc network, there is no fixed infrastructure such as base stations or mobile switching centers. The security of ad-hoc network is more vulnerable than traditional networks because of the basic characteristics of ad-hoc network, and current muting protocols for ad-hoc networks allow many different types of attacks by malicious nodes. Malicious nodes can disrupt the correct functioning of a routing protocol by modifying routing information, by fabricating false routing information and by impersonating other nodes. We propose a routing suity mechanism based on one-time digital signature. In our proposal, we use one-time digital signatures based on one-way hash functions in order to limit or prevent attacks of malicious nodes. For the purpose of generating and keeping a large number of public key sets, we derive multiple sets of the keys from hash chains by repeated hashing of the public key elements in the first set. After that, each node publishes its own public keys, broadcasts routing message including one-time digital signature during route discovery and route setup. This mechanism provides authentication and message integrity and prevents attacks from malicious nodes. Simulation results indicate that our mechanism increases the routing overhead in a highly mobile environment, but provides great security in the route discovery process and increases the network efficiency.
Recently, as the personal computers are supplied rapidly, they formed the nucleus of the computer system. But, because of the easiness that anyone uses them to go near easily, it is the fact that the security of personal computer is weakness. So, in the paper, 1 propose the technical method that minimizes the loss and leakage of important data. This paper implemented a crypto system for security of data file on personal computer and assistance storage medium. The way of encryption/decryption is applied by complexity method which mixed Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol, a typical RC4(Rivest Cipher version 4) algorithm of stream cipher and a typical MD5(Message Digest version 5) of Hash Function. For valuation implemented crypto system, three criteria is presented, which are crypto complexity, processing time and pattern matching. And according to analysis the three criteria the crypto system is verified the security, efficiency and usefulness. The crypto system is programmed with Visual C++ language of Microsoft. And so, as this is software system, we shall have a technical security system at a minimum cost for all personal computer.

The main issue in mobile cloud computing is how to support a seamless service to a mobile mode. Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is a mobility supporting protocol which is standardized by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Mobile IPv6 fast handovers (FMIPv6) is the extension of MIPv6 which is proposed to overcome shortcomings of MIPv6. Recently, fast handovers for Mobile IPv6 over IEEE 802.16e which is one of broadband wireless access systems has been proposed by the IETF. It was designed for supporting cross-layer fast handover. In this paper, we propose an enhanced cross-layering mobile IPv6 fast handover over IEEE 802.16e networks. In our scheme, a new access router generates a new address for the mobile node by using a layer 2 trigger. We utilize a layer 2 message which is sent from a new base station to the new access router in order to inform the new access router of information of the mobile node. A previous access router sends a binding update message to the mobile node's home agent when it acquires the new address of the mobile node. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme compared with the existing schemes in terms of the signaling cost and the handover latency. From the results, we observe that the proposed scheme can support fast handover effectively over IEEE 802.16e networks than existing schemes.

The self-healing key distribution scheme with revocation capability proposed by Staddon et al. enables a dynamic group of users to establish a group key over an unreliable network, and has the ability to revoke users from and add users to the group while being resistant to collusion attacks. In such a protocol, if some packet gets lost, users ale still capable of recovering the group key using the received packets without requesting additional transmission from the group manager. In this scheme, the storage overhead at each group member is O($m^2$1og p) and the broadcast message size of a group manager is O( ((m$t^2$+mt)log p), where m is the number of sessions, t is the maximum number of colluding group members, and p is a prime number that is large enough to accommodate a cryptographic key. In this paper we describe the more efficient self-healing key distribution scheme with revocation capability, which achieves the same goal with O(mlog p) storage overhead and O(($t^2$+mt)log p) communication overhead. We can reduce storage overhead at each group member and the broadcast message size of the group manager without adding additional computations at user's end and group manager's end.
Sensor networks deployed in battlefields to support military operations or deployed in natural habitats to monitor the rare wildlifes must take account of protection of the location of valuable assets(i.e., soldiers or wildlifes) from an adversary or malicious tracing as well as the security of messages in transit. In this paper we propose a routing protocol GSLP(GPSR-based Source-Location Privacy) that is capable of enhancing the location privacy of an active source node(i.e., message-originating node) in the presence of multiple dormant sources(i.e., nodes lying nearby an asset whose location needs to be secured). Extended is a simple, yet scalable, routing scheme GPSR(greedy perimeter stateless routing) to select randomly a next-hop node with a certain probability for randomizing paths and to perform perimeter routing for detouring dormant sources so that the privacy strength of the active source, defined as safety period, keeps enhanced. The simulation results obtained by increasing the number of dormant sources up to 1.0% of the total number of nodes show that GSLP yields increased and nearly invariant safety periods, while those of PR-SP(Phantom Routing, Single Path), a notable existing protocol for source-location privacy, rapidly drop off as the number of dormant sources increases. It turns out that delivery latencies of GSLP are roughly less than two-fold of the shortest path length between the active source and the destination.

The In-Vehicle-Networking(IVN) of modern cars is constituted by an small electronic control device called ECU. In the past, there was no way to be able to access the IVN of a driving car. so IVN has been recognized as a closed environment so there is no need to exist authentication protocol between devices which are to configure the internal network and to communicate with other devices. However, constant improvements made it possible to access the IVN in many different ways as the communication technology evolves. This possibility created a need for device authentication in IVN. HB-Family are representative authentication schemes in RFID environment which has similar restrictions to IVN. In this paper, we propose an implementation method of HB-Family for device authentication between ECU considering ECU has low computing power and the message field of CAN protocol has restricted size of 8 bytes. In order to evaluate the efficiency and availability of the authentication schemes adopted our method, we have evaluated the performance based on DSP-28335 device. Further, it was possible to improve the efficiency rate of at lest 10%, up to 36%, and we then analyze this result in various aspects of the IVN.
