Oversubscription factors for Community Wireless Services using AODV Routing

  • Community Wireless Networks define the next generation wireless services. Multimedia usages for financial services over community Wireless LAN (WLAN) based mesh networks require link stability. Several new services are being proposed for multimedia over WLANs. Portable Internet Services are implemented by several wireless carriers to proliferate their customer base. However, these services are still expensive and require a central telecom/wireless carrier whose monopoly and preference defines the availability of new services. Our research project identifies the usage of these critical services in public places over the financial services backbone architecture to provide efficient easy-to-use and economical services to their customers and merchants without being dependent on the central wireless carrier. The user connects to the network using his regular WLAN NIC using the Mesh Router/Bridge interconnectivity and obtains the needed multimedia and financial services from the ATM-AP Gateway, In our proposed scenario, the ATN AP-MR use AODV protocol and MR-MC is based on 802.11g/a/b IEEE standard. We use multi path routing protocols for reducing the congestion over a particular route. We demonstrate the results of our simulations and test-bed outcome to evaluate link failure rate and oversubscription factors to eliminate network congestion and non-availability of the critical financial services.

Does Higher Datarate Perform Better in IEEE 802.11-based Multihop Ad Hoc Networks?

  • Due to the nature that high datarate leads to shorter transmission range, the performance enhancement by high datarate 802.11 WLANs may be degraded when applying high datarate to an 802.11 based multihop ad hoc network. In this paper, we evaluate, through extensive simulations, the performance of multihop ad hoc networks at multiple transmission datarates, in terms of the number of hops between source and destination, throughput, end-to-end delay and packet loss. The study is conducted based on both stationary chain topology and mesh topologies with or without node mobility. From numerical results on network performance based on chain topology, we conclude that there is almost no benefit by applying the highest datarate when the chain length is 6 hops or more. With node mobility in mesh topology, the benefit of using high datarate diminishes at even shorter number of hops. To explore the main reasons for this behavior, analyses on multihop end-to-end throughput and network k-connectivity have been conducted later in the paper, and correspondingly an auto-rate adaptation algorithm has been proposed.

다중 스케일 평균곡률 기반 전역 희소치를 이용한 메쉬 돌출 정의 (Mesh Saliency using Global Rarity based on Multi-Scale Mean Curvature)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 메쉬 모델의 중요 영역을 표현하는 메쉬 돌출맵(mesh saliency map)을 생성하기 위하여 다중 스케일 평균 곡률 (multi-scale mean curvature)을 기반으로 정의된 전역 희소치(global rarity)를 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법에서는 우선, 메쉬 모델의 지역 영역 특성을 정의하기 위하여 기존 관련 연구들에서 많이 사용하고 있는 가우시안 가중치 평균곡률(Gaussian-weighted mean curvature)을 5단계 서로 다른 스케일에서 정의하고, 메쉬의 각 정점(vertex)에 대하여 중심주변 연산자(center-surround operator)를 적용하여 5단계 지역 돌출특성(local saliency)을 정의한다. 주어진 메쉬 모델의 전역 희소치를 구하기 위하여 메쉬의 모든 정점쌍 (vertex pair)에 대하여 5단계 지역 돌출 특성 공간에서의 거리를 계산하고, 각 정점별로 5단계 지역 돌출 특성 공간에서의 다른 정점과의 거리의 합으로 전역 희소치를 정의한다. 이러한 전역 희소치를 각 정점의 메쉬 돌출치로 정의한다. 서로 다른 형태의 3차원 모델에 대하여 제안방법에 의한 메쉬 돌출맵과 지역 특성만을 고려한 기존 메쉬 돌출맵을 생성하여 중요 영역 표현 결과를 비교 분석한다.

그래프 신경망을 이용한 단순 선박 선형의 저항성능 시뮬레이션 (Resistance Performance Simulation of Simple Ship Hull Using Graph Neural Network)

  • During the ship hull design process, resistance performance estimation is generally calculated by simulation using computational fluid dynamics. Since such hull resistance performance simulation requires a lot of time and computation resources, the time taken for simulation is reduced by CPU clusters having more than tens of cores in order to complete the hull design within the required deadline of the ship owner. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating resistance performance of ship hull by simulation using a graph neural network. This method converts the 3D geometric information of the hull mesh and the physical quantity of the surface into a mathematical graph, and is implemented as a deep learning model that predicts the future simulation state from the input state. The method proposed in the resistance performance experiment of simple hull showed an average error of about 3.5 % throughout the simulation.

  • The interaction between particles and fluid was investigated by IB-SEM numerical method which is a combination of combing the spectral/hp element method and the rigid immersed boundary method. The accuracy of this numerical method was verified based on the computed results with the traditional body-fitted mesh in numerical simulation of the flow through the cylinder. Then the governing equations of particles motion and contact in fluid are constructed. The movement of the particles and the interaction between the fluid and the particles are investigated. This method avoided the problem of low computational efficiency and error caused by the re-division of the grid when the solids moved. Finally, the movement simulation of multi particles in the fluid was carried out, which can provide a completely new numerical simulation method.

안면거상 및 팔자주름 개선을 위한 매선 시술 표준안 제안 (Preliminary Standard Procedure for Face Lift and Correction of Nasolabial Fold using Thread-Embedding (Maeseon) of Korean Medicine)

  • Objectives : This study aims to suggest preliminary standard procedure for face lift and correction of nasolabial folds using thread-embedding (Maeseon) of Korean medicine(KM). Methods : Three KM practitioners of facial correction and rejuvenation who have over hundred case of practice participated in establishment of standard procedure. Standard procedure contains preprocessing, main procedure for correction, and solution of side effects. Results : Standard procedure is comprised of twelve processes with preprocessing and postprocessing. Preprocessing has position, disinfection, and anesthesia. Main process consists of overall structure correction, face lifting, nasolabial folds correction, and mesh making on cheek. Postprocess covers disinfection, edema prevention. Conclusions : To our knowledge, this is the first work to suggest standard procedure of facial rejuvenation using Maeseon. It would contribute to standardized practice in clinical fields and future study of revealing Maeseon's effectiveness.

  • The fatigue strength analysis of VLFS is carried out by using a 3-dimensional plate finite element model with a zooming technology which performs the modeling of wide portions of the structure by a coarse mesh but the concerned parts by a very fine mesh of t by t level. And a stepwise substructure modeling technique for global loading conditions is applied which uses the motion response of the global structure from 2-D plate hydroelastic analysis as the enforcing nodal displacements of the concern 3-D structural zooming model. Seven incident wave angles and whole ranges of frequency domains of wave spectrum are considered. In order to consider the effect of breakwater, the modified JONSWAP wave spectrum is used. Applying the wave data of installation region, the longterm spectrum analysis is done based on stochastic process and the fatigue life of the structure is estimated. Finally some design considerations from the view point of fatigue strength analysis of VLFS are discussed.

이동 투사를 통한 실제 공간에서의 증강현실 시스템 (Augmented Reality System in Real Space using Mobile Projection)

  • 본 논문에서는 소형 카메라와 프로젝터를 이용한 투사형 통합 증강현실 시스템에 대해 소개한다. 물체 인식을 위해 특징점 추출 알고리즘을 사용하며 물체의 깊이 정보는 구조광 방식을 이용해 추출한다. 인식된 물체에 대한 정보를 3차원 공간에 투사할 때, 가상카메라 개념을 이용한 투사 방법을 개발해 특정 점 집합간의 매핑(mapping)을 계산할 필요 없이 투사하고자 하는 대상의 메쉬(mesh)만을 가지고 원하는 위치에 영상을 투사할 수 있도록 일반화 시켰다. 따라서 단순한 평면뿐만 아니라 복잡한 곡면에 대해서도 복잡한 기하계산 없이 원하는 위치에 투사할 수 있게 되었다. 소개되는 내용에서는 소형 카메라와 프로젝터를 탑재한 로봇을 바탕으로 크게 프로젝터-카메라 시스템 캘리브레이션, 인식된 물체의 위치 계산 그리고 가상카메라 개념을 이용한 영상 투사 방법에 대해 설명한다.

B-Spline 및 유한요소 유연화법 활용 자동차 록업클러치의 형상최적화 (The Shape Optimization of a Torque Converter Lock-up Clutch Using the B-Spline and Finite Element Mesh Smoothing)

  • A FEM-based efficient method is developed for the shape optimization of 2-D structures. The combined SLP and Simplex method are coupled with finite element analysis. Selected set of master nodes on the design boundaries are employed as design variables and assigned to move towards their normal directions. The other nodes along the design boundaries are grouped into the master node. By interpolating the repositioned master nodes, the B-spline curves are formed so that the rest mid-nodes efficiently settle down on the B-spline curves. Mesh smoothing scheme is also applied for the nodes on the design boundary to maintain most finite elements in good quality. Finally, a numerical implementation of optimum design of an automobile torque converter piston subjected to pressure and centrifugal loads is presented. The results shows additional weight up to 13% may be saved after the shape optimization.

멀티캐스트 서비스를 위한 센터기반 공유형 경로 지정 방법 (Center-based Shared Route Decision Algorithms for Multicasting Services)

  • 최근 원격교육, 디지털 콘텐츠 및 IPTV를 포함한 멀티미디어 데이터를 다수의 수신자들에게 멀티캐스트 전송기술을 이용하여 전송하는 방법들에 대한 논의가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이를 위하여 크게 소스기반의 트리 구성과 센터 기반의 트리 구성 방식의 프로토콜이 제안되고 있으며, 특히 센터 기반의 트리 구성시 RP (Rendezvous Point) 라우터를 선정하기 위한 여러가지 알고리즘들이 제안되었다. 주요 알고리즘들에서는 RP와 멤버들사이의 최대거리, 평균거리 및 예측거리 등의 measure를 이용하여 이의 값들을 최소화하는 라우터를RP로 지정한다. 본 논문에서는 메시 네트워크 하에서 소스 및 멤버들이 랜덤하게 지정되는 상황을 가정하는 경우 효율적인 RP 선정 알고리즘을 제안한다.
