Medical laser equipment using optical energy is used to surgery and treat diseases by destroying and removing tissue. Domestic laser equipment has been used steadily in the skin and cosmetics sectors and has been changed to radiate high-power energy in a wide range to shorten patient treatment time. However, side effects such as burns and damage of normal tissues occurred. To solve this problem, techniques for detecting lesions using an imaging device and selectively radiating the laser have been developed. In this study, we proposed an evaluation method to evaluate the safety and performance of target detection accuracy, laser irradiation accuracy and motion protection device technology derived from product analysis and investigation. Finally, the validity of the evaluation method was evaluated by evaluating the imaging device based laser equipment as the proposed evaluation method.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to measure the characteristics of the perceived quality of college students of 20s which is the main customers of whitening, and to investigate the customer satisfaction and repurchase intentions according to the perceived quality of whitening. Research design, data and methodology - The interviewers in the research are 300 college students in Seoul and the metropolitan area. They were collected from October 1 to October 24, 2013. 283 of collected questionnaires were used for the analysis. The analysis in the general characteristics of the subjects was analyzed by frequency analysis. With five-dimensional factor analysis, the perceived quality through reliability analysis was investigated and verified. In this study, when stem cell culture solution is used as a cosmetic ingredient, one of the most prominent problems is that the ingredients generally have low thermal stability. Therefore, in this study, in order to find out how the stem cell culture medium is heated or preserved at high temperature, the effect of various effects of stem cells on the various effects of the stem cells was investigated. Investigated. As a result of the experiment, the wound healing assay confirmed that the cell migration increased after 6 hours, and after 24 hours, it was confirmed that the cell mobility was increased and cell division was promoted, thereby being concentrated. As a result of investigating the amount of transdermal water loss by preparing a cosmetic product containing stem cell culture solution, it was confirmed that the culture solution addition group showed an improvement rate of 31% compared to the non-added group, thereby helping in skin wound recovery. As a result of this, it is considered that this point should be considered when the stem cell culture medium is used as an active ingredient in cosmetics in the future.
Cannabis sativa (CS) has been in the spotlight not only for its medical uses but also as a raw material for cosmetics. As fermented cosmetics are known to have various health benefits, they have been extensively researched. Here, we investigated the characteristics of CS stems fermented using various gut microbes. The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide assay and melanin content analysis revealed that melan-a cells containing CS stems fermented with Weissella paramesenteroides (CSWP) showed considerably reduced melanin content. Additionally, CSWP downregulated the expression of several melanogenesis factors, tyrosinase-related protein-1, and tyrosinase-related protein-2. This study suggests that the anti-melanogenic effect of CSWP could provide a new basis for the development of skin-lightening agents.
The skin experiences constant physical stimuli, such as stretching. Exposure to excessive physical stimuli stresses the skin and can accelerate aging. In this study, we applied a method that allowed human fibroblasts and keratinocytes to be perfused with media to form 3D skin equivalents that were then uniaxially 10%-stretched for 12 h per day (at either 0.01 or 0.05 Hz) for up to 7 days to form wrinkled skin-on-a-chip (WSOC). There was more wrinkling seen in skin equivalents under 0.01 Hz uniaxial stretching than there was for non-stretched skin equivalents. At 0.05 Hz, the stratum corneum almost disappeared from the skin equivalents, indicating that stretching was harmful for the epidermis. At both frequencies, the production of collagen and related proteins in the skin equivalents, such as fibronectin 10 and keratin, decreased more than those in the non-stretched equivalents, indicating that the dermis also suffered from the repeated tensile stress. These results suggest that WSOCs can be used to examine skin aging and as an in vitro tool to evaluate the efficacy of anti-wrinkle cosmetics and medicines.
Soft tissue filler injection is the second most common nonsurgical cosmetic procedure. Despite the safety of fillers, as use has grown, so has the number of patients affected by adverse events. Ophthalmoplegia following cosmetic filler injection is a rare complication, mostly occurring after injection to the glabella, nasolabial fold, periorbital, and lateral nasal site. In all cases where ophthalmoplegia has been reported following fillers, patients have simultaneously experienced vision loss and other ocular symptoms. We report a case of isolated acute ophthalmoplegia following hyaluronic acid injection solely in the temple region. A 40-year-old woman, 3 hours after the procedure, presented to our hospital with left eye ophthalmoplegia, ptosis, and hypotropia. Treatment started with hyaluronidase, steroids, and anticoagulants. After 4 weeks, left eye ophthalmoplegia remained unchanged, and through a 10-week follow-up, all left ocular movements improved, and only mild hypotropia and ptosis persisted. This case report shows that ophthalmoplegia may also happen with temple region filler injections. We also review available prevention techniques and treatments to avoid such complications when performing soft tissue fillers for gaunt appearance correction.

Candelilla wax-in-water nanoemulsions stabilized by Span 80/Tween 80 were prepared by the phase inversion composition (PIC) method. Stable nanoemulsions with droplet diameters below 50 nm could be formed when the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) values were between 13.5 and 14.5, surfactant concentration was 5.0 wt%, and the surfactant-wax ratio was 1:1. Increased emulsification temperature and cooling rate were found to improve the emulsion properties. Process of PIC (adding aqueous phase to the wax phase) produced smaller droplet size nanoemulsion compared to the process of adding wax phase to the aqueous phase. The stability of these nanoemulsions was assessed by following the change in droplet diameters with time of storage at room temperature (${\sim}25^{\circ}C$). The size remained constant during 2 months storage time.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the aqueous extract of the Astragalus membranaceous(AM). AM showed inhibitory effect on the tyrosinase activity using L-tyrosine as a substrate. Tyrosinase plays an important role in the process of melanin polymer biosynthesis. In vitro AM extract(1mg/ml) inhibited melanin biosynthesis and are useful for the material used in cosmetics. B16 mouse melanoma cells were cultured in different concentrations. The non-cytotoxicity of the plant extracts was confirmed by MTT assay.

Several structural proteins present in keratinocytes of the skin are known to play an important role in the formation of epidermal tissue and barrier function, and the absence of structural proteins in keratinocytes causes various skin diseases. In this study, 42 types of tetrapeptides derived from the sequence of Loricrin, a kind of terminally differentiating structural protein, were synthesized, and skin anti-aging properties were measured by measuring the elastase inhibition, proliferation of skin cells. The anti-aging efficacy was verified and, based on this, it succeeded in selecting one of the most excellent peptides. It is expected that the selected tetrapeptide can be used as a raw material for various cosmetics and quasi-drugs based on anti-aging and skin cell proliferation effects.

This study was to describe the differences in efficacy and effect of herbal extracts by the part and solvent extraction from the medical plants used as materials of oriental herbs cosmetics. And, this study was to apply to the test method of efficacy and effect related to the antioxidation as herbal extracts, complex of actual ingredient, not existing analytical methods of single ingredient. After screening the medical plants with the antioxidative activity primarily and selecting 11 sorts of medical plants to be used by the part in the literature, this study was to confirm the differences through the well-known test methods like DPPH radical scavenging activity test and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity test. For examples, in case of Trachelospermum asiaticum, compared with the aerial part and fruit, the value of DPPH radical scavenging activity test had $25.2 {\pm} 0.2$ and $62.4 {\pm}1.6$ each. It has shown that the value of fruit had 2.4 times higher effect than the one of aerial part. In case of hydroxyl scavenging activity test, it was effective in the fruit, but it has shown that there was no effect on the aerial part. It showed the same phenomena in some other plants. From the result above, this researcher could understand that it needed to consider extracting the medical plants or plants with the active principle by the part. Also, this study was to confirm the differences in effect according to the solvent as it changed the solvent extraction after selecting a plant (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) widely used for medicine and dye. As a result of measuring the actual value of superoxide scavenging activity test, this study was to consider that there were differences by the part or solvent extraction in extracting and using the medical plants as it has shown that the effect differences produced $10{\sim}80%$ according to the solvent. When it was applied to the products, this study has shown that it needed to decrease the possible errors.
