The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship among the variables related learner's satisfaction, flow experience and self-directedness and verify the path model of causal relationship among those variables in web based computer e-learning. Based on the theoretical rationale, we hypothesized the path model including learner's satisfaction as outcome variable, flow experience and self-directedness as causal and mediating variables. A total of 193 students were participated in this study and the main results showed as follows: 1. Learner's self-directedness showed significant (p<.01), indirect effect on learner's satisfaction mediated by flow experience and the flow experience showed significant (p<.01), direct effect on learner's satisfaction; 2. Among 7 constructs of self-directedness, 'creative approach', 'love of learning', 'self-confidence as a learner' showed significant (p<.01), indirect effects on learner's satisfaction mediated by 'clear goals' construct among flow experience.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating effect of learning flow and the moderated mediation effect of digital literacy on the effect of the learning presence of non-face-to-face class experience in nursing students on academic achievement. Methods: Participants were 272 nursing students from six universities in two different cities. A self-report questionnaire was used to measure learning presence, learning flow, digital literacy, and academic achievement. Analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 and SPSS PROCESS Macro (4.0). Results: The mediating effect of learning flow on the effect of learning presence on academic achievement was 0.42, and the moderated mediation index of digital literacy was 0.17. Learning flow showed a mediating effect on the relationship between learning presence and academic achievement. Digital literacy had a moderated mediation effect on the relationship between learning presence and academic achievement that was mediated by learning flow. Conclusion: The intensity of the mediating effect of nursing students' learning presence on academic achievement through learning flow increases as the level of digital literacy increases. These results suggest that educational programs considering the level of learning presence, learning flow, and digital literacy are required to promote the academic achievement of nursing college students.
This research tested the path model which examined the direct and indirect effects of family violence experience on perpetration of dating violence among college students. Two family violence variables such as witnessing parents' marital violence and being abused by parent were the exogeneous variables in the path model, while the mediated variables were consisted of (1) the social-learning-theory-derived variables such as acceptance of violence, positive outcome expectations of using violence, and aggressive conflict-coping behavior, and (2) control-theory-derived variables such as attachment, belief, and commitment. Data were from self-administered questionnaires completed by 332 male and 469 female students selected by stratified quota sampling method. The path analysis was done for males and females separately, since females reported significantly higher degree of dating violence than males. Results of the path analysis showed that first, for both males and females, being abused by parents directly and indirectly influenced dating violence, while witnessing parents' marital violence did not have effect on dating violence either directly or indirectly. Second, for male students, acceptance of violence and conflict coping behavior found to be the mediated variables in the effect of being abused by parents on dating violence. Third, for females, a control-theory-derived variable of belief as well as all three social learning theory-derived variables mediated the influence of being abused by parents on dating violence.

Videoconferencing technology is increasingly used in classrooms to introduce children to people from other countries and cultures in order to provide a wider learning experience. However, with traditional screen-based video conferencing technology, research has shown that it is easy for students to miss non-verbal cues that play a key role in developing human relationships. To investigate how children interact differently when their interactions are mediated through screen-based video communication versus robot-mediated communication, we conducted a study with elementary students in Korea, comparing the use of both technologies to introduce classroom students with peer-aged individuals in America. Our findings show that the children displayed more positive emotions during certain tasks and exhibited more interest and intimacy to remote participants in the context of robot-mediated communication than with video-mediated communication.
This case study explored the potential for implementing content-based English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction in a Korean middle school facilitated by computer-mediated communication (CMC). The instructor scaffolded the student participant's language learning online, helping her to produce English output on her own. While experimental social studies lessons on the topic of stereotyping were taught, data were collected on the student's online exchanges with her counterpart in Iran about their respective cultures. Findings show that the student from Korea was able to better understand her own culture as a result of the online experience. This interaction and the in-class lessons have demonstrated that content-based EFL instruction is a viable alternative to the school's existing curriculum.

The physical computing education, as the emerging field, is a form of education that helps learners to develop the attitude of scientific inquiry by developing meaningful and creative output through the integration of hardware and software elements. Based on the literature, the authors of the study used science experience, school support and learning flow as the variables that predict the outcome variable which is the attitude of scientific inquiry. The authors collected data from 64 fourth and sixth graders who studied physical computing at an institution for the gifted and talented in Korea and then analyzed them using descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression and simple mediation analysis methods. As a result, science experience and learning flow significantly predicted the attitude of scientific inquiry. In addition, learning flow mediated the relationship between science experience and the attitude of scientific inquiry, and the relationship between school support and the attitude of scientific inquiry. Based on these results, the authors propose that to promote the attitude of scientific inquiry in physical computing education, strategies must be implemented for improving science experience, school support and learning flow in instructional design.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the mediating effects of psychosocial well-being on the relationship between self-leadership and learning flow in nursing students. Methods: A total of 148 nursing students with online class experience participated in the study. The data were analyzed using the independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, PROCESS macro, and bootstrapping methods with SPSS Statistics 26.0. Results: The results showed that self-leadership, learning flow, and psychosocial well-being were significantly correlated, and self-leadership had a direct effect on learning flow. In other words, the higher the level of self-leadership, the higher the learning flow of nursing students. Psychosocial well-being was partially mediated by self-leadership and learning flow. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop and implement programs for self-leadership and psychosocial well-being enhancement as a strategy to enhance nursing students' learning flow.
This paper studies the effect of flipping the classroom in undergraduate physics classes using English as the medium of instruction (EMI). Data on student use of learning strategies, course satisfaction level and perceptions of the flipped classes were collected through a survey including close-ended and open-ended questions. The sample size was 71 students in flipped classes, with 60 students in non-flipped classes used as a control group (total N=131). It was found that students in the flipped classes showed greater intrinsic goal orientation (p<.05), control of learning beliefs (p<.05), and use of critical thinking (p<.01) than those in the non-flipped classes. While the survey highlighted problems of student engagement with the pre-class activities, students who had previous experience with online classes committed more time to pre-class, suggesting that engagement may improve with exposure to blended learning. It is concluded that the flipped classroom helps students develop their identities as self-directed learners, but that more support is necessary for weaker students in the EMI context. Implications are drawn for the content design of flipped EMI classrooms.

The semiconductor industry is a competitive, complicated and a cyclical sector with a highly dynamic business climate which requires an effective leadership style to operate and succeed. This study explores the important issue of how leadership facilitates employee innovative work behaviors in the semiconductor industry. Based on the assumptions of the ambidextrous leadership theory and social exchange theory, we collected data from 300 workers employed in the semiconductor industry of South Korea. The study investigated (1) the impact of ambidextrous leadership on innovative work behavior, (2) the mediating effects of workers decision-making autonomy and workplace learning in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior, (3) the moderating role of resistance to change in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning, and (4) the moderating role of openness to experience in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. SmartPLS 4 and SPSS v24 was used to analyze our data. The study revealed that ambidextrous leadership positively influences workers innovative work behavior. In addition, decision-making autonomy and workplace learning partially mediated the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and innovative work behavior. Moreover, resistance to change was found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between ambidextrous leadership and workplace learning. Based on these findings, we conclude that ambidextrous leadership is very imperative for semiconductor businesses seeking to foster employee innovative work behaviors. Theoretical and practical implications of the study are also discussed.
