접촉형 변위센서를 이용한 LCD노광기용 스테이지 시스템 (Stage System for LCD Exposure Equipment Using Touch-type Displacement Sensor)

  • In an effort to reduce weaknesses of existing laser displacement sensor-based system, a sensing device for distance and balance of mask-substrate gap using touch-type displacement sensor was suggested. The device suggested in this study is expected to solve the problems of prices and reflections, by means of a touch-type sensor. LCD exposure equipment stage system including suggested sensing device was realized to assess the characteristics of sensing the balance and gap between mask and substrate. It was verified that a touch-type displacement sensor-based device to adjust the balance and distance of mask-substrate gap suggested in this study can be applicable to LCD expose equipment in practice.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate an optimization model to determine the operation conditions of the chestnuts flame peeling system. The results of this study were summarized as follows. The optimization model was developed and evaluated to represent the flame peeling characteristics of the domestic chestnuts. When the heating depth was selected for various utilization of the peeled chestnuts, the model could determine the optimal conditions of the hardness of the chestnut shells, the flame temperature, and the flame time to get the maximum peeling ratio of the chestnut flame peeling system. When the heating depth was limited to 2.2 mm, the optimization model determined the proper operation conditions and the maximum peeling ratio such as 1594 g/$\textrm{mm}^2$ of the hardness of the chestnut shells, 780$^{\circ}C$ of the flame temperature, 29 second of the flame time, and 98.1 % of the peeling ratio.

  • Mechatronic subsystems are more and more developed in automotive industries. To enhance the local controls performances, a cooperative control between ABS and Suspension systems is proposed. The respective controls are first designed separately with their dedicated models. Then a hybrid hierarchical architecture is developed. The advantage of this architecture is discussed through vehicle performance with simulation results.

Detection of Second-Layer Corrosion in Aging Aircraft Fuselage

  • A Digital X-ray imaging system using Compton backscattering has been developed to obtain a cross-sectional profile and mass loss of corroded lap-splices of aging aircraft from density variation. A slit-type camera was designed to focus on a small scattering volume inside the material, from which the backscattered photons are collected by a collimated scintillator detector for interpretation of material characteristics. The cross section of the lap-joint is scanned by moving the scattering volume through the thickness direction of the specimen. The mass loss of each layer has been estimated from a Compton backscatter A-scan to obtain the thickness of each layer including the aluminum sheet, the corrosion layer and the sealant. Quantitative information such as location and width of planar corrosion in the lap splices of fuselages is obtained by deconvolution using a nonlinear least-square error minimization method(BFGS method): A simple reconstruction model is also introduced to overcome distortion of the Compton backscatter data due to attenuation effects attributed to beam hardening and quantum noise.

  • This paper presents a motor selection technique for a manipulator design that is used in a multipurpose dog-horse robot. Since the dynamics of a manipulator and its servo drives are closely related to each other, it requires a repetitive analysis to determine a suitable motor. In order to simplify this procedure, Straete et al. proposed a simple normalization method to separate the load dependent terms and the motor dependent terms. This technique is adopted in this paper for selecting a motor in designing a manipulator.

Development of Threshing Machine for Shatter-Resistant Sesame

  • Purpose: A threshing machine for shatter-resistant sesame was designed and developed in this study. Methods: Two types of sesame (shatter-resistant and conventional) were tested using the developed sesame threshing system. Three types of serrated bars were designed and evaluated through performance tests, in terms of the ratio of unthreshed sesame. Results: In the case of conventional sesame, the ratio of unthreshed sesame did not show any difference with bar type or cylinder rotation speed. For shatter-resistant sesame, however, the ratio of unthreshed sesame decreased with increased cylinder rotating speed for all three types of bar. Conclusions: These results are useful for the construction and utilization of an efficient threshing harvester. The type-L bar showed the best result in the energy equation.

  • The configuration of redundant inertial sensors are very important when considering navigation performance and fault detection and isolation (FDI) performance. By constructing a redundant sensor system using multiple inertial sensors, it is possible to improve the navigation performance and fault detection and isolation performance, which are highly related to the sensor configuration and allocation. In order to deploy multiple MEMS inertial measurement units effectively, a configuration and allocation methods considering navigation performance, fault detection and isolation performance, and lever arm effect in one plane are presented, and the performance is analyzed through simulation in this research. From the results, it is confirmed that the proposed configuration and allocation method can improve navigation, FDI, and lever arm effect rejection performances more effectively by more than 70%.

  • The market of rice transplanter has already been changed for riding and to be turned large size of chassis. Because an automation is rapidly expanded, It is strongly need to analyze a mechanism and develop a hydraulic circuit. In this study, we analyzed the mechanism of working equipment of rice transplanter for riding and developed hydraulic circuits. We proposed the operating mechanism of rice transplanter for riding through the mechanistic analysis of working equipment. And the simulation and experiment were performed. In order to up and down the working equipment of rice transplanter for riding, we designed the mechanism which was installed hydraulic circuit and hydraulic cylinder, and it was manufactured. The pressure of developed hydraulic circuit was set by 800 $N/cm^2$. In the field testing, the hydraulic response presented at 50 msec in the maximum driving velocity, 0.8 m/sec of rice transplanter for riding, and it was well performed. The results of experiments showed the system characteristics sufficient to use as the hydraulic mechanism for a rice transplanter for riding.

Nondestructive Internal Defects Evaluation for Pear Using NIR/VIS Transmittance Spectroscopy

  • Internal defects such as browning of the flesh and blackening and rot of the ovary of pear can be easily developed because of the inadequate environmental conditions during the storage and distribution of fruit. The quality assurance system for the agricultural product is to be settled in Korea. All defected agricultural products should be excluded prior to the distribution to enhance the commercial values. However, early stage on-line defect detection of agricultural product is very difficult and even more difficult in a case of the internal defects. The goal of this research is to develop a system that can detect and classify internal defects of agricultural produce on-line using VIS/NIR transmittance spectroscopy. And Shingo pear, which is one of the famous species of Korean pear, was used for the experiment. Soft independence modeling of class analogy (SIMCA) algorithm was employed to analyze the transmittance spectroscopic data qualitatively. On-line classification system was constructed and classification model was developed and validated. As a result, the correct classification rate (CCR) using the developed classification model was 96.1 %.

히트펌프를 이용한 농산물 건조 및 저온저장 시스템 (II) - 사과의 저온저장 성능 - (Drying and Low Temperature Storage System of Agricultural Products using the Air to Air Heat Pump (II) - Performance of Low Temperature Storage for Apples -)

  • Heat pump systems are recognized to be heating and cooing systems. In this study, to check the practical application possibility of heat pump systems as low temperature storage systems and get basic data, apples of a long term storage items were stored and performance of low temperature storage and quality changes of apples were evaluated. Cooling coefficient of performance of the system was from 1.1 to 1.3. Although ambient air temperature varied widely from $-13^{\circ}C$ to $29.6^{\circ}C$ during low temperature storage period from January to June, the average temperature of low temperature storage chamber was $1.1^{\circ}C$ at setting temperature of $1.5^{\circ}C$. Sucrose of apples stored by the heat pump decreased from initial sucrose of 15.4% (Brix number) to final sucrose of 14.3%. Weight loss ratio of apples was 9.7% and internal and external view of apples after low temperature storage were very satisfactory with the naked eye.
