  • Environmental Qualification has been almost developed except those of Non-Material Sub-components for valves and pumps though the time has only passed about 10years since EQ test launch of Korea. However EQ test has been performed by a few of engineers under the conditions that experience of EQ test is insufficient and EQ system is not developed completely. In recent years, Strengthen Nuclear Safety Regulation is being done Strictly Nuclear safety components Verification Procedure for Non-Material Sub-components, but the reports contain only performance test results, not Enviro nmental test methods relating to real Aging Degradation. In this Study, there were developed to performance systematically research to acquire EQ technology for five specimens of the Non-Material Sub-components in the Nuclear Power Plant.

  • A simplified statistical mechanical method was developed for the calculation of the dehydration fraction, activation free energy of dehydration, and the relaxation times of hydrated ions. The model used includes the equilibrium constant between hydrated and dehydrated water, a water-ion interaction potential energy term, and a mixing factor for the species present. The agreement between theory and experiment is good. The pressure dependence of ion dehydration is also discussed.

  • The effect of ultrasound on the acid hydrolysis of inulin was studied under significantly mild reaction conditions, at which sugar degradation products were not detected. Reaction conditions were i the range of 50~$60^{\circ}C$ and 0.1~0.3%(w/w) of HCl concentrations. The effects of reactor position inside water bath and mechanical agitation under ultrasound were investigated. The production rates of fructose with/without ultrasound irradiation were compared. The activation energies for both control and ultrasound reaction were the same, i. e., 25kca1/mo1, and ultrasound enhancement was average 22%.

  • An overview is given to optimize the solid state processes toward phase pure and well-crystallized fine particulates of mixed oxides, serving as electroceramic materials in various genres. Elevation of the reactivity and preservation of stoichiometry of the starting mixture are of universal importance. Mechanical activation is versatile for these purposes, particularly when an oxygen atom as a hinge promotes formation of hetero-bridging bonds between dissimilar cationic species prior to calcination. Case studies carried out recently in the author's laboratory are displayed and compared for ferroelectric materials, i.e. $PbMg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$ $xPbTiO_3$(PMN-PT), $(1-y)Pb(Zn_xMg{1-x})_{1/3}$ $yNb_{2/3}O_3$ (PZN-PMN), $BaBi_2Ta_2O_9$ (BBT), $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ (BMT), and ferromagnetics, i.e. M-, Y-, and Z-phases of Ba-hexaferrites.

  • The various types of structural materials that are available in the construction industry nowadays make it necessary to predict their stress-strain behavior. Geopolymer are alternatives for ordinary Portland cement concrete that are made from pozzolans activation. Due to relatively new material, many mechanical specifications of geopolymer are still not yet discovered. In this study, stress-strain behavior has been provided from experiments for unconfined geopolymers. Modulus of Elasticity and stress-strain behavior are critical requirements at analysis process and knowing complete stress-strain curve facilitates structural behavior assessment at nonlinear analysis for structures that have built with geopolymers. This study intends to investigate stress-strain behavior and modulus of elasticity from experimental data that belongs for geopolymers varying in fineness and mix design and curing method. For the sake of behavior determination, 54 types of geopolymer are used. Similar mix proportions are used for samples productions that have different fineness and curing approach. The results indicated that the compressive strength ranges between 7.7 MPa and 43.9 MPa at the age of 28 days curing.

  • Thermal degradation of Acrylonitrile butadiene rubber(NBR), which is used for O-ring material as elastomeric sealed diaphragm value in the nuclear power plants, is examined. The thermal degradation is accelerated at 130$^{\circ}C$ by Arrhenius exploit method using the activation energy calculated by thermogravimetric analysis. The weight loss temperature and glass transition temperature are verified for thermally aged NBR. The relationship between dynamic mechanical properties and elongation at break are also investigated. The threshold alue of thermally aged NBR is a ten year in the change of elongation at break.

  • The sintering behavior of titanium-titanium nitride nanocomposite powders has been studied by dilatometry. Titanium. titanium nitride nanocomposite powders were produced by the reactive milling of micron sized titanium powder $(12\;{\mu}m)$ in nitrogen atmosphere. The Ti-TiN nanocomposite powders milled for various durations along with the initial micron sized Ti powders were then sintered in the temperature range of $450-1000^{\circ}C$ by a constant rate of heating $(10^{\circ}C/min)$. The linear shrinkage, shrinkage rate, activation energy for sintering and microstructure has been studied and discussed as a function of milling time.

  • Heart failure is a clinical syndrome comprised of a number of symptoms and signs associated with congestion and/or hypoperfusion. Specific pharmacologic therapies have been developed to slow disease progression from early to more advanced stages. Once symptoms have developed, aggressive multimodality interventions are instituted to alleviate symptoms and improve clinical status and quality of life; especially in those patients that present symptoms. Recently, an evolving adjunctive therapeutic modality, that involves using implanted electrical devices: cardiac resynchronization with or without implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD). has been used for management. Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a proven treatment for selected patients with heart failure-induced conduction disturbances and ventricular dyssynchrony. When used in combination with stable, optimal medical therapy, CRT is designed to reduce symptoms and improve cardiac function by restoring the mechanical sequence of ventricular activation and contraction. This review summarizes the rationale, procedure, clinical trials, and clinical indications for CRT.

  • In this research, the radiation resistance of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) and chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE) which can be used as a insulating materials of for electrical cable in the nuclear power plant were investigated. EPR and CSPE were irradiated by ${\gamma}$-ray at various doses ranging from 50 to 500 kGy at room temperature in air. The irradiated EPR and CSPE was investigated in terms of activation energy, mechanical properties, and oxidation stability. The experimental results revealed that CSPE exhibited the higher radiation resistance in comparison to that of EPR.
