효율적 유지보수를 위한 도시철도 전동차 브레이크의 시스템 신뢰도 최적화 (Reliability Optimization of Urban Transit Brake System For Efficient Maintenance)

  • The vehicle of urban transit is a complex system that consists of various electric, electronic, and mechanical equipments, and the maintenance cost of this complex and large-scale system generally occupies sixty percent of the LCC (Life Cycle Cost). For reasonable establishing of maintenance strategies, safety security and cost limitation must be considered at the same time. The concept of system reliability has been introduced and optimized as the key of reasonable maintenance strategies. For optimization, three preceding studies were accomplished; standardizing a maintenance classification, constructing RBD (Reliability Block Diagram) of VVVF (Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) urban transit, and developing a web based reliability evaluation system. Historical maintenance data in terms of reliability index can be derived from the web based reliability evaluation system. In this paper, we propose applying inverse problem analysis method and hybrid neuro-genetic algorithm to system reliability optimization for using historical maintenance data in database of web based system. Feed-forward multi-layer neural networks trained by back propagation are used to find out the relationship between several component reliability (input) and system reliability (output) of structural system. The inverse problem can be formulated by using neural network. One of the neural network training algorithms, the back propagation algorithm, can attain stable and quick convergence during training process. Genetic algorithm is used to find the minimum square error.

  • The market of programmable implantable pumps has bound to a monopolistic situation, inducing high device costs, thus making them inaccessible to most patients. Micro-mechanical and medical innovations allow improved performances by reducing the dimensions. This affects the consumption and weight, and, by reducing the number of parts, the cost is also affected. This paper presents the procedure followed to design an innovative implantable drug delivery system. This drug delivery system consists of a low flow pump which shall be implanted in the human body to relieve pain. In comparison to classical known solutions, this pump presents many advantages of high interest in both medical and mechanical terms. The first section of the article describes the specifications which would characterize a perfect delivery system from every points of view. This concerns shape, medication, flow, autonomy, biocompatibility, security and sterilization ability. Afterwards, an overview of existing systems is proposed in a decisional tree. Positive displacement motorized pumps are classified into three main groups: the continuous movement group, the fractioned translation group and the alternative movement group. These systems are described and the different problems which are specific to these mechanisms are presented. Since none of them fully satisfy the specifications, an innovation is justified.. The decisional tree is therefore extended by adding new principles: fractioned refilling and fractioned injection within the fractioned translation movement group, spider guiding system within the alternative translation movement group, rotational bearing guided device and notch hinge guided device in the alternative rotation movement group.

  • WSN을 포함하는 IoT 세상이 발전할수록, IoT를 적용하는 주위환경에 따라 정보를 센싱하는 센서 시스템의 수가 매우 가변적이다. 이러한 복잡한 환경에서 각각의 센서 시스템들에 대한 보안을 수행하기 위하여 보안모듈들도 가변적으로 증감을 수행해야 한다. 이러한 문제점은 시스템 효율성과 해킹/크래킹을 고려하였을 경우, 하드웨어/소프트웨어적인 구현을 어렵게 한다. 그러므로 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 센싱 노드들의 수와 상관없이 일정한 주기를 가지는 의사난수를 발생시키며 이상현상을 탐지할 수 있는 기능을 가진 고정 길이 탭을 가진 의사 난수 발생기(FLT: Pseudo-random Number Generator with Fixed Length Tap unrelated to the variable sensing nodes) 구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 FLT-LFSR 구조는 IoT 환경에서 하드웨어/소프트웨어 구현에 대하여 보안레벨 및 전체 데이터 포맷팅을 일정하게 유지시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 그러므로 제안된 FLT-LFSR 구조는 센서 시스템 구현의 용이성 및 센싱 노드들의 수와 상관없이 네트워크의 확장성을 강조할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • As mobile electronics become smarter, higher-level security systems are necessary to protect private information and property from hackers. For this, biometric authentication systems have been widely studied, where the recognition of unique biological traits of an individual, such as the face, iris, fingerprint, and voice, is required to operate the device. Among them, ultrasound fingerprint imaging technology using piezoelectric materials is one of the most promising approaches adopted by Samsung Galaxy smartphones. In this review, we summarize the recent progress on piezoelectric ultrasound micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) transducers with various piezoelectric materials and provide insights to achieve the highest-level biometric authentication system for mobile electronics.

보링바 고유진동 계측을 위한 광섬유 진동센서 연구 (A Study of the Boring Bar Vibration Measurement using Optical Fiber Sensor)

  • In this paper, we studied of measurement the vibration of natural frequency using optical fiber sensor. The boring bar for measurement of vibration in use optical fiber sensor has the advantage of direct measure for the frequency than accelerometer. Because it deal with output value on electrical signal of optical fiber in physical disturbance when it measures the frequency of vibration. The optical fiber sensor measured the vibration of boring bar by the gap in sensing jig while optical fiber just kept contact with boring bar. A prototype system was composed of jig part with gap and optical system part. In this paper, we found out the possibility to measurement of vibration by the gap in use optical fiber.

생화 장식 꽃받침 자동 생산 시스템 개발 (Development of a flower support for real flower decoration Automatic Production System)

  • 본 논문에서는 생화 장식용 꽃 받침대를 자동으로 제작하기 위하여 고주파 융착기를 사용하여 생화 장식용 꽃 받침대 자동 제작 시스템을 개발하였다. 수동으로 제작되어지는 생화 꽃 받침은 소비자의 수요를 충족시키지 못하여 자동 제작시스템을 통해 생산성을 높이기 위하여 개발을 진행하였다. 생화 장식용 꽃 받침대는 플라스틱으로 이루어진 꽃 받침대인 캡과 캡을 지지하는 부직포로 이루어진 밑판으로 구성된다. 캡을 고주파 융착기로 이송하기 위해 가이드를 설계하였으며 가이드의 재질 및 형상에 따른 실험을 통해 최적의 가이드를 개발하였다. 전체 시스템을 제작하기 위하여 가이드와 악세서리의 무게를 정하고 그에 적합한 모터와 풀리를 계산을 통하여 도출해 냈다. 자동 제작 시스템의 제어는 PCB 기판을 기반으로 하여 안정성 및 보안성을 높였으며 리모컨을 사용하여 수동모드와 자동모드를 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 제작 후 시스템의 이송정밀도와 반복 정밀도를 실험해본 결과 이송정밀도는 X축 2.7mm Y축 1mm로 측정 되었고 반복 정밀도는 0mm로 측정되어 생화 장식 꽃 받침대를 제작하는데 문제가 없다는 것을 확인하였다. 생산성을 확인해본 결과 1일 8시간 기준 수동 제작시 35개를 생산하고 자동 생산 시 70개를 생산하여 200%의 생산성을 높인 것을 확인하였다.

  • It is an important issue to electric power system operations that it can reliably supply large-capacity power to consumption area as due to increasing power demand growth. For this purpose, The FACTS equipment based on Power IT technology with the existing mechanical compensators has been applied to power system. Therefore we suggest on this paper that a plan for coordination control of multiple power compensation equipment in order to increase the utilization of each facility and secure operation margin capacity. As the result of simulation, it is possible to cope actively with a suddenly changed power system. This helps greatly for the voltage stability and supply reliability in a suddenly changed power system.

LDCSIR: Lightweight Deep CNN-based Approach for Single Image Super-Resolution

  • Single image super-resolution (SISR) is an image processing technique, and its main target is to reconstruct the high-quality or high-resolution (HR) image from the low-quality or low-resolution (LR) image. Currently, deep learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) image super-resolution approaches achieved remarkable improvement over the previous approaches. Furthermore, earlier approaches used hand designed filter to upscale the LR image into HR image. The design architecture of such approaches is easy, but it introduces the extra unwanted pixels in the reconstructed image. To resolve these issues, we propose novel deep learning-based approach known as Lightweight deep CNN-based approach for Single Image Super-Resolution (LDCSIR). In this paper, we propose a new architecture which is inspired by ResNet with Inception blocks, which significantly drop the computational cost of the model and increase the processing time for reconstructing the HR image. Compared with the other state of the art methods, LDCSIR achieves better performance in terms of quantitively (PSNR/SSIM) and qualitatively.

  • Generally, underwater gliders do not have separate propellers for their forward movement. They derive a propulsive force due to the difference between their buoyancy and gravity. The attitude of an underwater glider is controlled by changing the relative position of the buoyancy center and mass center. In this study, we derived nonlinear 6-DOF dynamic and mathematical models for the motion controller and buoyancy controller. Using these equations, we performed dynamic underwater glider simulations and verified the suitability of the design and dynamic performance of the proposed underwater glider.

  • Safety-critical systems related to the railway communications are currently undergoing changes. Mechanical and electro-mechanical devices are being replaced by programmable electronics that are often controlled remotely via communication networks. Therefore designers and operators now not only have to contend with component failures and user errors, but also with the possibility that malicious entities are seeking to disrupt the services provided by theirs systems. This paper discusses the safety strategies employed in the railway communications and proposes a security mechanism for Korean railway communication system.
