  • The objective of this research is to develop an effective inspection planning strategy for sculpture surfaces in OMM(On-Machine Measurement) process. As a first step, effective measuring point locations are determined to obtain optimum results for given sampling numbers. Two measuring point selection methods are suggested in this study based on newly proposed CAD/CAM/CAI integration concept: (1) by the prediction of cutting errors, (2) by considering cutter contact points to avoid the measurement errors caused by cusps. As a next step, the TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem)algorithm is applied to minimize the probe moving distance. Appropriate simulations and experiments are performed to verify the proposed inspection planning strategy in this study, and the results are analyzed.

  • The tool wear that is developed by long-term machining in mold manufacturing with machining center makes a severe influence to the accuracy and the surface roughness. In this reason, tool-wear supervising system which has guaranteed high accuracy and high speed is needed to improve the measurement quality. Touching probe and touch sensor are widely used to measure the tool profile at on-machine measurement. In this paper, using the newly developed electric touch point measuring system, the Automatic Tool Compensation System is developed to correct the error of tool diameter resulted from the wear, and the operating method of this system is also provided.

  • The machining parts must be produced within the specification of drawing and those will be able to meet function and efficiency. At that time. it is necessary not only precision machine or machining technique but also the measurement technique is very important. So. the improvement of precise measurement technique is to be joined together at once with improvement of product technique. Finally. he quality and value of the parts are decided by precision measurement. This paper aims to study on he measurement uncertainty when the machined parts are inspected with 3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine. The objectives are to remove an error of measurement and to improve quality and productivity of the mass products.

  • Machine vision systems is applied for various industries such as optimize your spending, automate your production and maximize your efficiency. This research is effective for most optimal light condition of machine vision that technology was applied bald outside human visual acuity. Image processing converts a target image captured by a CCD camera into a digital signal and then performs various arithmetic operations on the signal to extract the characteristics of the target, such as points, lines, circles, area and length. The mathematical concepts of convolution and the kernel matrix are used to apply filters to signals, to perform functions such as extracting edges and reducing unwanted noise. This research analyze and compares matching ratio with reference image and search for optimal lighting condition in accuracy that user wants coming input image according to brightness change of lighting.

  • The experimental study was the cutting characteristics of non-ferrous metals. The experimental apparatus was used the turning machine and diamond tool. This aimed at lading the optimal cutting conditions by measuring surface farm and roughness. Used non-ferrous metals were aluminum, brass and oxygen-free copper. As well, according to changing cutting conditions such as feed rate by measuring cutting farce and surface roughness and according to cutting conditions the non-ferrous metals studied about cutting properties.

  • We have investigated the variation of dwell and warm-up time for effects of positioning accuracy of the CNC machine tools with an laser measuring system. Also, we strdied the effect of improvement of the positioning accuracy by variation of the temperature for hollow ball screw, which mostly used as drive mechanism of CNC machine tools. We dbtained the effectiveness of cooling effect of the new cooling system, compared with the conventional cooling system.

  • Reverse Engineering is to find CAD model through measured data of a physical model which is not available in CAD model. The measured data are obtained from measuring with Coordinate Measuring Machine or Laser Scanner.   • 3차원좌표측정기(Coordinate Measuring Machine)의 공간오차(Volumetric error)의 측정을 위하여 홀-플레이트(Hole-Plate)를 이용하는 방법이 연구되었다. 티타늄 또는 세라믹으로 제작되는 홀-플레이트의 설계 예를 보였다. 홀-플레이트의 측정홀 숫자와 진원도(Roundness)의 영향이 연구되었으며, 또한 홀-플레이트의 설치시 발생하는 오차도 검토되었다. 3차원좌표측정기의 공간오차성분 모두를 별도로 측정하는 방법이 제안되었다. 홀-플레이트를 이용 2차원 및 3차원 공간의 길이 오차를 직접적으로 측정하는 방법도 소개되었다.

  • 생산공정중에서 검사공정이 비교적 늦게 자동화되어 왔으나 Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM)과 computer의 결합을 통하여 Computer-Aided Testing(CAT)이 실현되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 CAT에 대한 전반적인 개념을 설명하였으며, CAD 및 CAM과 CAT의 결합, expert system을 이용한 측정계획의 수립, vision을 이용한 측정자동화의 경향을 설명하고 있다. 또한 CAD와 Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM)의 결합에 필요한 data교환 format을 소개한다. 그리고 현재 상용화 되어있는 CAT software들의 기능을 소개한다.
