  • The purpose of this study is to develop the indicators for measuring enjoyment of public libraries by the community. The term, enjoyment is defined as the community members' use and appreciation. Four types of enjoyment indicators are constructed through literature review: basic(environment), state(use), result(outcome), and essential(to enhance enjoyment). The prepared enjoyment indicators are evaluated and selected by focus groups interviews of professionals(researchers, librarians and policy makers). Those selected indicators are tested and revised through a internet survey of 508 Kyungi residents. Based on the analysis of the results this study suggests a total of 46 enjoyment indicators.

  • This paper aims to develop the intellectual capital (IC) indicators which are the most available for the E institution, a typical type of public research institute in Korea. In this paper, we basically adopted the "Intangible Assets Monitor" proposed by Sveiby and comprising three kinds of intellectual capital, namely human capital, internal structure capital and relationship capital, as a research framework. For this work, we firstly identified 12 categories and 27 components of intellectual capital for E institution. Next, we extracted 37 main indicators and 94 sub ones from these categories and components as a whole. As a result, it may be the first time in Korea for E institution of develop its own IC indicators which are slightly, or sometimes totally, different from ones for private companies in the perspective of their organizational attributes and characteristics.

  • An assessment tool's validity is crucial because its scores are used as basis of decision making. This study assessed the content validity of the indicators for environmental assessment of construction activities. Pool of candidate indicators were constituted from the literature review, and CVR(Content Validity Rate) approach was adopted to investigate the content validity. As a result, 14 indicators are effective and five of them are content valid and retained from the pool.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual operation status of the financial performance target management system which is currently operated and to provide improvement plan based on this analysis. For this purpose, I examined the performance management system and performance indicators of the Ministry of Justice, which is one of the criminal justice administration agencies. Although the overall appropriateness of the current performance management system is considered to be somewhat appropriate as a whole, there is a negative perception about the performance measurement method for measuring the achievement of the performance target, and the evaluation of the performance of the performance target is relatively low. In addition, there were many criticisms about the establishment and measurement of the Ministry of Justice's overall performance indicators, such as the tendency to select indicators that are easy to achieve and easy to measure. In order to remedy these problems, it was highly suggested that the importance of indicators should be more emphasized and expanded so as to set up high-performance indicators. Based on the results of this analysis, some suggestions for policy implications and some alternatives for improvement of financial performance target management system were suggested.

  • Recently, the demand for performance evaluation and management at the industrial or corporate level has been increasing. From this perspective, this study has developed indicators to measure and compare construction company performances and we have analyzed various characteristics of those indicators. Throughout our thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis we first identified a set of indicators for performance measurement. These indicators have been shown to meet the requirements of validity, measurability, and comparability. Second, we calculated the performance index of construction companies by applying weightings of the performance categories. Then we performed correlation and regression analyses using the calculated performance index and identified the basic cause-and-effect relationships, as well as the statistical characteristics of the performance index. Drawing on the results of the analytical processes identified in this work, we discuss future research to be conducted.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore objective indicators(outcomes) which are used to evaluate clinical efficacy and figure out the mechanisms of herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). We searched randomized controlled trials(RCTs) that mediated with herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for IBS and used objective indicators for outcome from November 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The RCTs that were published in Korean, English and Chinese were included in this study. The selected literatures were analyzed about methods of result measurement and assessed by Cochrane's risk of bias(RoB). Total 18 RCTs were included in this study. There were lots of objective indicators for result measurement; the concentration of hormones in blood and neurotransmitters, the sensitivity of rectum, the functional assessment of central nerve and autonomic nerve system, the change of intestinal flora, the concentration of serum cytokines. Various objective indicators can be used to evaluate the clinical efficacy of with herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for IBS, but due to the limitations of the quality of the included studies, systematic review and meta-analysis will be needed.

  • This is a paper to understand the economic effects of the measurement standards by translog cost function. The data, as of the end of 1998, are from a survey of 514 firms in Korean industry. The analysis is compared to that of 1992 data analysis to check the trend. There are a little differences on the estimated coefficients, but there is no basic difference on trend of economic effects. The Investment on measurement standards have been contributed positively on the major managerial indicators such as productivity, profit, and so on.

  • Lately, the management of domestic BIM performance is quite lacking, as the evaluation and management data from successful cases of BIM implementation both on projects and in companies, and related effects (time, cost and other physical gains) are not well kept for future use in BIM development. In order to overcome the above obstacles, a systematic approach to evaluating BIM adoption with focus on particular elements like BIM implementation environment and processes, and the physical factors yielded by BIM, is necessary. In this study, objective and detailed assessment indicators and weights that are appropriate for the domestic situation were derived through research for purposes of developing a web-based BIM maturity measurement program that is tailor-made for the Korean construction atmosphere. Through a company's self-maturity measurement, excellent quality of BIM deliverables and output can be achieved and managed. Furthermore, the domestic BIM capacity can gradually increase since design firms' BIM capability can be judged during procurement basing on measurement indicators.

  • Although the methodological literature is replete with advice regarding the development and validation of multi-item scales based on reflective measures, the issue of index construction using formative measures has received little attention. The aim of this paper is to enhance researchers' understanding of formative measures of high-order factor and assist them in their index construction efforts. This article is also to provide some insights into the nature of formative indicators for researchers to reach an informed choice as to the appropriate high order formative measurement model for their needs. We first provide a brief background on formative indicators, drawing from the limited and fragmented literature on the topic. Next we give an example of constructing an index based on actual survey data and highlight the procedures used to assess its quality. We conclude the article with some thoughts about the use of indexes in empirical studies.

  • In this paper, we present the cost measurement metrics for the operation management and service improvement besides the general maintenance. The cost measurement metrics of the operation management and service improvement are based on the metrics that are classified and summarized precedent studies and complemented by empirical measuring indicators, and we propose the maintenance cost estimation model based on this metrics. The maintenance costs can be calculated detailedly, because the proposed metrics can be used selectively, depending on the scope of the information system maintenance. The effectiveness of the proposed maintenance cost measurement metrics and cost estimation model is verified by comparison between existing studies and our research.
