Purpose: This study began with an interest in the meaning and importance of Olympic mascots, and this paper aimed to analyze the types and features of mascots by comparing the Summer Olympics mascots from Munich 1972 to Tokyo 2020 and ultimately to understand the attributes of the Summer Olympic mascots. Research design, data, and methodology: The approach of this study is the exploratory approach by literature reviews. This study carried out exploratory research on thinking about understanding the characteristics of the Summer Olympic Games Mascots. Results: First, the Munich 1972 mascot, Waldi is known as the first official mascot. Second, many mascots are designed the most in animal form. But the process of change according to the material of the Olympic mascot changed from a simple animal form to a finely expressed hybrid mascot, and multiple mascots appeared in the 2000s. Conclusions: The Olympic mascot is a representative symbol of the Olympic Games, representing the identity of the host country. Five attributes of the Olympic mascots were identified: friendliness, a symbolic meaning, originality, diversity, and value. Further implications were discussed.

Data mining is a technique for extracting valuable information from vast amounts of data by analyzing statistical and mathematical operations, rules, and relationships. In this study, we employed data mining technology to analyze the data concerning the painting poetry of Maehwado (plum blossom paintings) from the early Joseon Dynasty. The data was extracted from the Hanguk Munjip Chonggan (Korean Literary Collections in Classical Chinese) in the Hanguk Gojeon Jonghap database (Korea Classics DB). Using computer information processing techniques, we carried out web scraping and classification of the painting poetry from the Hanguk Munjip Chonggan. Subsequently, we narrowed down our focus to the painting poetry specifically related to Maehwado in the early Joseon Dynasty. Based on this, refined dataset, we conducted an in-depth analysis and interpretation of the text data at the syllable corpus level. As a result, we found a direct correlation between the corpus statistics for each syllable in Maehwado painting poetry and the symbolic meaning of plum blossoms.

애니메이션은 내러티브를 바탕으로 하는 기호의 집합체라 할 수 있다. 그레마스는 의미를 객관적으로 분석 가능한 것으로 구조주의적 틀을 형성하고 이를 통하여 의미를 분석하고자 하였다. 그레마스의 기호학은 애니메이션 속에 등장하는 캐릭터들 간에 갈등구조를 분석하는데 적합하며, 기호학사각형 및 역할소 모델을 통해 숨겨진 갈등구조와 의미를 파악한다. 기호사각형은 의미구조를 파악하는데 적합하기에 이를 애니메이션에 응용하면 캐릭터 간의 구조 파악 및 캐릭터 간에 파생되는 의미를 도출해 볼 수 있다. 역할소 모델은 구조 속에서 욕망의 축을 기준으로 캐릭터 간에 권력관계를 파악할 수 있도록 도와준다. 본 논문은 그레마스의 기호학에 대하여 살펴보고 이를 기반으로 애니메이션 <마당을 나온 암탉>을 기호학적으로 분석한다. 또한 프로프의 민담 분석과 같이 <마당을 나온 암탉>의 내러티브를 분석한 후 그레마스의 기호사각형를 사용하여 프로타고니스트와 안타고니스트의 갈등을 분석한다. 프로타고니스트의 내적갈등과는 달리 안타고니스트의 내적갈등은 전체 갈등 구조에 큰 영향을 미치며 관객의 감정을 동요시킨다. 마지막으로 역할소 모델을 통해 애니메이션을 공시적 구조 틀 속에서 살펴본다.

The purpose of this study aims to investigate the characteristics of architectural association methods which apply Hall's poetic concept by looking into how Hall extracts languages and images under what circumstances and by analyzing how the extracted elements are integrated into an architectural space through what association processes. First of all, poetic association functions in the architectural process are compared, and the value of using visual associations in architectural designs are investigated based on the results of the analysis. Next, Steven Holl's poetic concept is investigated in the context of the concept extraction step, the idea expansion step, and the space composition step in order to find out how such association methods work in the process of architectural designs. The methods of reproducing, changing and using Steven Holl's poetic concept can be summarized as follows in relation with experiential associations, multi-meaning associations and morphology associations: 1) Steven Holl's experiential associations are a method of expressing perceived images in the form of languages in the process of interpreting land and programs. This method has the characteristics of reproducing various architectural ideas by generating a relationship between invisible characteristics of land in images and languages. 2) Steven Holl's multi-meaning associations are a method of directly associating a project with related objects and incidents, or of coming up with a hidden meaning. It has the characteristics of changing ambiguous images of metaphoric, figurative or ironic languages into concrete architectural images. 3) Steven Holl's morphology associations is a method of expressing morphology images and languages which are directly related to the images. Morphology associations have the characteristics of regenerating sensory experience elements into languages or images, which can be seen experiential associations; or they use metaphoric images in architecture by substituting them with other architectural elements, which can be seen in multi-meaning associations.

This paper examines the works produced from 2000, the first year of the new millenium, to the late 2006 with a focus on those of Jean Paul Gaultier, a representative designer of deconstruction, in an effort to determine the aesthetic characters of deconstructional fashion. In this context, this paper deals with the theoretical study on the concepts and features of deconstruction as a part of analysis into its fashion using the works of Gaultier as a major source viewed to typically demonstrate the deconstructional characters of fashion. For this purpose, a survey was conducted to 155 works of Gaultier featured from 2001 to 2006 mostly in Vogue, the popular and influencing magazine of the USA(39 pieces in 2001, 30 in 2002, 29 in 2003, 23 in 2004, 12 in 2005 and 22 in 2006, respectively). In particular, 106 fashion pictures were put to analysis as they seemed to represent deconstruction intensively. The deconstructional characters of his works were examined in the categories of difference, inter-meaning, inter-textuality and decomposition on the basis of preceding studies, which resulted in the following outcomes: First, difference was found in 38 works out of 106 images, accounting for 36%, the biggest frequency; Second, inter-meaning accounted for 33% with 35 pieces, most frequently next to difference; Third, inter-textuality followed inter-meaning with 17 images or 15% in terms of frequency; Fourth, decomposition was revealed in 16 images in the same ratio of 15% as inter-textuality.

본 연구는 유아교사 양성과정에 커리어 포트폴리오 제작 프로그램을 적용해봄으로써 예비유아교사들이 겪게 되는 다양한 경험의 의미를 살펴보고 이를 통해 커리어포트폴리오 제작 프로그램의 교육적 가치를 살펴보고자 진행되었다. 프로그램은 K대학 3학년 1학기에 재학 중이면서 교직실무 교과목을 수강하는 예비유아교사 23명에게 적용되었으며 연구자는 자료수집을 위해 프로그램이 적용되는 9주 동안 예비유아교사의 반성적 저널, Coaching Professor 프로그램 지도 보고서, 소그룹 면담 자료 등을 수집하였다. 수집된 자료들은 주제별 약호화의 방법으로 분석되었으며 그 결과 8개 하위영역 즉, '시간의 흐름 지각하기', '흩어진 경험 모으기', '혼돈 속에서 나 찾아가기', '함께임을 인식하기', '심리적 안녕감 형성하기', '유아교사로서 나의 모습 그리기', '발전하는 나 설계하기', '세상으로 나아가기' 로 분류할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 커리어 포트폴리오 제작 프로그램의 참여가 예비유아교사들이유아교사로 성장하는데 필요한 가치 있는 경험을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

The contents of this study are as follows. First, an academic understanding has been achieved by exploring the theoretical concept "allegory", and a new theoretical approached methodology has been sought. Second, an analysis-index of fashion illustration cases has been suggested based on the allegory theory of Craig Owens. Third, in order to draw the characteristics of fashion illustration as viewed from the allegorical viewpoint and find out its feasibility, the case studies has been referred and the internal significance, external significance that combines different characteristics has been extracted. In regards to this study method, literature studies and case studies has been done in parallel with each other. This study was done in the following sequence: the establishment of the study system, the drawing of the allegory-associated concepts and the discovering the characteristics of aesthetic expressions. The results of this study on the expression characteristics of fashion illustration as viewed from the allegorical viewpoint of Craig Owens are as follows. First, the borrowing of image, which is a characteristic of allegory, contains the meaning of uncertainty in the fashion illustration as it expresses the image-synthesis and forms a completely different meaning as the fixed meaning is dissolved and it is utilized as a photo-montage technique. Second, the inference of pictogram is the mixture of linguistic medium and visual medium. Fashion illustration utilizes the characters and transmits the fashion information visually and immanently. It has the characteristic of making the information into pictograms and the internal significances of mutual-text with communication function. Third, the uniqueness of location in the fashion illustration has the special nature of utilized mediums as it is used for advertising or publicizing. The fashion illustration from the viewpoint of allegory has the impermanency of existing only for a limited time and reflects the coincidence that gives the meaning of utilized location according to the season trend. Fourth, the cross-breeding is expressed as the mixture of various materials in the fashion illustration. The expressions made by the mixture of media, such as the use of computer graphic programs mixed together with various materials showed the trend of diversity and genre dissolution.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the symbolic meaning of pattern designs attached on the main building of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government (CPG). While most of researches mainly focused on the value and evaulation of the CPG building in terms of architectural history, relatively little insight has been gained on the symbolic meaning and mature of the pattern designs. What king of connections are related between the emblem of Governor-General of Chosun(Korea) and those of CPG? What symbolic meanings are engraved on the pattern designs? The researcher then took up the task of elucidating symbolic meanings of patterns and their relation to the building. The existing pattern of the outer wall of the CPG building consists of the symbol of sun(太陽輪), mums(菊花輪), and angle of stairs(雁大角). According to the Japanese Studies of emblems, these visual elements symbolize 'the sun of Japan'((日の丸) or 'the emperor', 'the royal family', and 'rays of the sun'. Based on these preliminary findings, the researcher considered the following in-depth connections: (1) relations with the emblem of Governor-General of Chosun, (2) relations with the emblems of local autonomous entity, Kyoungsung in Chosun. (3) relations with the emblem designs of the local provinces in Japan etc. In conclusion, patterns of the main building were not just an architectural decoration, but they had significant meanings utilizing design elements and methods adopted by local autonomous entities in Japan, The patterns found at the ceilling and floor of hall in the CPG building were associated with the emblem of Governor-General of Chosun. Therefore, all the patterns of the CPG building are powerful symbols that have meanings for the colonial rule by using the shape and method of city identities that Japanese local provinces had enacted. That is, it came out into the open that they were designed for special meanings that Korean and Japanese are united as a single body(內鮮一體) for a subject of the Emperor of Japan(皇國臣民).

Purpose: This study was a qualitative research study in which focus group interviews were used to collect data on the meaning of respite for family caregivers who are taking care of elders with dementia. Methods: The focus group interviews and participants consisted of 2 family caregiver groups, for a total of 8 people taking care of their elders and 5 professional caregivers working in a geriatrics hospital or social welfare institutions. Content analysis was used and debriefing notes were referred in order to analyze the data. Results: The meaning of respite in this research was measured using 4 main categories: 'Temporary break from routine', 'direct help', 'psychological comfort', 'valuables which cannot be taken easily' and 9 subcategories: 'Temporary diversion of attention', 'temporarily free from my duty', 'taking care of oneself', 'receiving economic help', 'empathize with others', 'comfort based on trust', 'resting together with the elder', 'no time to rest', 'cannot get out of one's obligatory duty'. Conclusion: The findings of the study show that rest means not only a temporary relief from caretaking, but also a real respite based on the patients' stable state and comfort. These results indicate a new meaning for respite, that the first step of respite program has to begin even when the caregivers do not recognize the need for respite.

사회감성은 다양한 사회적 네트워크가 형성됨으로서 우리생활에서 의사소통의 질적 관점에서 중요한 요인으로 대두되고 있다. 이러한 사회감성을 이해하기 위해서 감성의 어휘적 의미와 표현에서 보여 지는 유의성을 검증하고 분석하여 사회감성의 복합적인 의미를 이해하고자 한다. 본 연구에서 의사소통의 대표적인 채널인 SNS(Social Network Service)상에서 감성표현 결과를 이용하여 그 의미와 표현에 대한 척도를 구하고 군집분석을 통해서 그 차이를 깊이 있게 이해하려고 하였다. 분석결과 사회감성요인은 부정적 평가 요인 항목이 긍정적 요인에 비교하여 비중이 높은 반면, 사회감성 표현은 긍정적인 표현이 상당히 많이 제시되는 것으로 나타났다. 사회감성요인에 대한 분류에서 기본 감성이나 유인가로 구분이 가능한 반면에 감성표현에서는 사회감성에서 요구되는 부가적인 내용을 복합적인 의미로 내포하고 있으며 양가적 내용 특성 포함하고 있다.
