슬라이딩 모드 관측기에 의한 최적의 공회전 제어기 설계 (Design of Optimal Idle Speed Controller by Sliding Mode Observer)

  • This paper presents an approach to nonlinear engine idle controller and intake manifold absolute pressure(MAP) observer based on mean torque production model. A stable engine idle speed is important in that the unstable engine Idle mode can make engine to drooping or stall state. A sliding fuzzy controller has been designed to control engine idle speed under load disturbance. A sliding observer is also developed to estimate the intake manifold absolute pressure and compared with the actual MAP sensor value. The sliding mode observer has shown good robustness and good tracking performance. The inputs of sliding fuzzy controller are the errors of rpm and MAP. The output is a duty cycle(DC) for driving a idle speed control valve(ISCV).

The Effect of Fuel Injection Timing on the Combustion and Emission Characteristics of a Natural Gas Fueled Engine at Part Loads

  • For a sequential port fuel injection natural gas engine, its combustion and emission characteristics at low loads are crucial to meet light duty vehicle emission regulations. Fuel injection timing is an important parameter related to the mixture formation in the cylinder. Its effect on the combustion and emission characteristics of a natural gas engine were investigated at 0.2 MPa brake mean effective pressure (BMEP)/2000 rpm and 0.26 MPa BMEP/1500 rpm. The results show that early fuel injection timing is beneficial to the reduction of the coefficient of variation (COV) of indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) under lean burn conditions and to extending the lean burn limits at the given loads. When relative air/fuel ratio is over 1.3, fuel injection timing has a relatively large effect on engine.out emissions. The levels of NOx emissions are more sensitive to the fuel injection timing at 0.26 MPa BMEP/1500 rpm. An early fuel injection timing under lean burn conditions can be used to control engine out NOx emissions.

Fontan 시술 이후 환자의 혈류역학적 상태에 대한 수치적 연구 (Computational study of the hemodynamics of the patients after the Fontan procedure)

  • In this study, the computational method is presented to simulate the hemodynamics of the patients after the Fontan procedure. The short-term feedback control models are implemented to assess the hemodynamic responses of the patients exposed to the stresses such as gravitational effect or hemorrhage. To construct the base line of the Fontan model, we assume an increase in venous tone, in heart rates, and in systemic resistance that are based on the clinical observations. For the verification of the present method we simulate the LBNP (lower body negative pressure) test for the normal and the Fontan model and we compare these with experimental data. Computational results show that the diastolic ABP(arterial blood pressure) increases but the systolic ABP decreases during LBNP. The increase in heart rate is due to the control system activated by the decreased mean ABP and CVP(central venous pressure). In case of the Fontan model, the increased venous tone is the reason of the diminished CVP change during LBNP. We also simulate 20% hemorrhage stress to the patient after the Fontan procedure and these results are compared with the experimental and the existing computational one. Computational results on the hemodynamics of patients after the Fontan procedure show that the mean ABP and cardiac output decrease. Heart rate and systemic resistance increase to compensate for the decrease in ABP. The sensitivity analysis according to the conduit resistance is also presented to delineate the effects of the local blood flow resistance. The cardiac output decreases according to the increase of the conduit resistance. The 50% increase in the conduit resistance causes about 3% decrease of cardiac output.

터보차저 엔진의 안정적 제어를 위한 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristics of Turbocharged Engine for the Stable Control)

  • 본 논문에서는 터보차저 엔진에서 중요한 문제로 대두되는 응답 특성을 규명하고, 전 부하뿐만 아니라 빈번하게 운행되는 부분 부하 조건 하에서의 엔진 성능을 분석하고자 한다. 시험 결과 컴프레서의 압축비는 1260 rpm 까지는 직선 형태로 급격히 증가하고 이후에는 약 2.5 정도로 완만하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이때 제동 평균 유효 압력도 압축비에 따라 1260 rpm 까지는 직선적으로 급격하게 증가하다가 1600 rpm 이후부터는 급격히 감소하였다. 과급압이 증가될수록 연비, 공기 과잉률, 제동 평균 유효 압력이 향상되나 중저속 영역보다는 정격 회전수로 갈수록 높아지는 경향이 크게 나타나고 있다. 터보차저는 약 1260 rpm 에서부터 안정적으로 작동되는 것으로 나타났으며 저속 영역에서는 과급기의 특성상 효율이 낮게 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 터보차저 엔진의 안정적 부하와 속도 제어 방법에 응용할 수 있다.

척추마취 하 수술 환자의 불안, 혈압, 심박수 및 혈당에 미치는 음악요법의 효과 (Effect of Music Therapy on Anxiety, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate and Glucose Levels of Patients Undergoing Surgery during Spinal Anesthesia)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to exam the effect of listening to preferred music on patients' anxiety, blood pressure, heart rate, and glucose levels during spinal anesthesia. Methods: A quasi-experimental research design was used. The participants were divided into an experimental group (n=30) and a control group (n=30) undergoing lower leg operations using spinal anesthesia. The mean age was 35.1 years and the mean time of listening to the music was 71.33 minutes. The experimental group was provided with their preferred music selected by each of the participants; the control group was not provided with any music. Results: The state of anxiety was decreased significantly in the experimental group(F=4.14, p=.046). Anxiety (VAS) was also significantly lower in the experimental group (F=4.62, p=.036). Conclusion: The results of the study show that listening to preferred music is an effective method for reducing peri-operative anxiety for patients during spinal anesthesia.

산욕부에게 적용한 요실금 예방 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of an Incontinence Prevention Program on Postpartum Women)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of an incontinence prevention program on postpartum women. Methods: The study design was a nonequivalent control pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 49 postpartum women with a normal vaginal delivery, 25 in the experimental group and 24 in the control group. Data was collected from lune 1. 2007 to April 30. 2008 at a postpartum women's care center located in Jeonju, Korea. For the experimental treatment, an incontinence prevention program was carried out for 24 weeks. Measures included maximum pressure of pelvic floor muscle contraction and duration of pelvic floor muscle contraction at pre-treatment, 5 weeks postpartum and 24 weeks postpartum. Data was analyzed by Repeated ANOVA using the SPSS/WIN 14.0 program. Results: The mean maximum pressure of pelvic floor muscle contraction (F = 8.95, p < .001) and mean duration of pelvic floor muscle contraction (F = 22.01, p < .001) were significantly different between the groups, and significantly increased as time passed. Conclusion: Practice of an incontinence prevention program is considered an effective intervention for the results of fewer urinary incontinence symptoms in postpartum women.

수술대기실 환자현황판을 이용한 수술진행 정보제공이 환아 어머니의 불안에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Informational Intervention Delivered by Electronic Patient Information Board in The Waiting Room on The Anxiety of Mothers Whose Children Underwent Elective Surgery)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of informational intervention delivered by electronic patient information board in the OR waiting room for reduction of anxiety of mothers with child having operation. Method: Nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used in this study. The subjects was 52 mothers whose children underwent elective surgery in one Pediatric Hospital. Informational intervention in this study consisted of four critical stages. State anxiety by Spielberger, mean arterial pressure, and heart rates at preoperative and postoperative period were measured. The data were analyzed by using Chi-Square test and t-test with SPSS/PC 10.0 program. Results: 1) There was a significant difference in the state anxiety between the control and the experimental groups. 2) There was no significant difference in the mean arterial pressure between the two groups. 3) There was no significant difference in the heart rate between the two groups. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that informational intervention delivered by electronic patient information board would be an effective intervention during the operation in reducing anxiety of mothers with child having operation.

정상인의 자세와 시각 교란에 따른 정적 균형능력의 변화 (Evaluation of Static Balance in Postural Tasks and Visual Cue in Normal Subjects)

  • Purpose: This study examined the difference in the static balance ability according to the visual cues and postural tasks in normal subjects. Methods: Thirty participants (12 male, 18 female; mean age $24.63\pm1.43$ years) stood barefoot on a force platform in a one-legged stance, tandem Romberg stance and tandem Romberg with neck extension stance with a visual cue open and closes. The static balance was assessed by the center of pressure (CoP), surface electromyography root mean square (RMS) of the leg muscles according to the stance position. Results: In the CoP tests, the difference in the unit path length and circumference area was affected by the visual cue according to the stance posture (p<0.01). In the RMS tests, the difference in the tibialis anterior and medial gastrocnemius muscle was affected by visual cue in accordance with the stance posture (p<0.01). Conclusion: The visual cue and postural task affect the balance ability in normal subjects. Therefore, this study provides clinical evidence that the balance and postural control can be improved. Therapeutic intervention, such as an obstacle course, and a lower leg muscle performance program with a change in the base of support can affect the balance and postural control.

Effects of Freezing of Gait and Visual Information on the Static Postural Control Ability in Patients with Parkinson's Disease

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of freezing of gait and visual information on the static postural control ability in patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD) during the bipedal stance with feet together. Method: This study included a total of 36 patients with PD; the freezer group included 17 PD patients (age: $69.3{\pm}6.2yrs$, height: $159.6{\pm}9.0cm$, weight: $63.4{\pm}9.78kg$) and the nonfreezer group included 19 PD patients (age: $71.4{\pm}5.6yrs$, height: $155.8{\pm}7.1cm$, weight: $57.7{\pm}8.6kg$). Static postural control ability was analyzed using variables of center of pressure (COP) and dividing by mediolateral, anteroposterior, and integration factors during a bipedal stance with the eyes open and closed. Results: Freezers and nonfreezers showed increases in anteroposterior velocity, mediolateral velocity, averaged velocity, and mediolateral 95% edge frequency when visual information was blocked. Additionally, freezers had greater anteroposterior range, 95% confidence ellipse area, and COP anteroposterior mean position than nonfreezers. Conclusion: Freezers and nonfreezers showed a reduction in static postural control ability when visual information was blocked. Additionally, the results of this study found a significant difference in static postural control ability between freezers and nonfreezers with PD. In particular, anteroposterior range, 95% confidence ellipse area, and COP anteroposterior mean position might be used to distinguish between freezers and nonfreezers with PD.

머신러닝 기법을 활용한 토압식 쉴드TBM 막장압 예측에 관한 연구 (A study on EPB shield TBM face pressure prediction using machine learning algorithms)

  • 쉴드TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) 터널 시공에 있어 막장압 관리는 막장면 붕괴, 지반침하 등을 방지하여 막장 안정성을 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 특히, 챔버 내부의 굴착토로 막장압을 조절하는 토압식 쉴드TBM의 경우, 이수식 쉴드TBM에 비해 막장압의 관리가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 국내 토압식 쉴드TBM 터널 시공 현장의 지반조건 및 굴진특성 데이터를 분석하여, 토압식 쉴드TBM 터널의 세그먼트 링별 막장압 예측모델을 제시하였다. 예측모델의 입력특성으로 7가지를 선정하였으며, 912개의 학습 데이터 세트(Training data set)와 228개의 시험 데이터 세트(Test data set)를 확보하였다. 최적의 토압식 쉴드TBM 막장압 예측모델 선정을 위하여 KNN (K-Nearest Neighbors), SVM (Support Vector Machine), RF (Random Forest), XGB (eXtreme Gradient Boosting) 모델의 하이퍼파라미터(Hyperparameter)를 최적화하여 예측성능을 비교한 결과, RF 모델이 7.35 kPa의 평균 제곱근 오차(Root Mean Square Error, RMSE)로 가장 우수한 성능을 나타냈다. 추가적으로, RF 모델의 특성 중요도(Feature importance) 분석을 수행한 결과, 입력특성 중 수압의 영향도가 0.38로 가장 높았으며, 전반적으로 지반조건이 굴진특성보다 높은 중요도를 보여주었다.
